📘 Exercise File: Microsoft PowerPoint – Lesson 1
📝 Objective:
To practice essential presentation skills such as creating, saving, formatting, inserting media, and
organizing content in Microsoft PowerPoint.
📂 Part 1: Getting Started with PowerPoint
1. Launch Microsoft PowerPoint.
2. Create a New Blank Presentation.
3. Save the presentation as MyFirstPresentation.pptx in your Documents folder.
4. Close and re-open the saved presentation.
🧩 Part 2: Working with Slides
1. Add 5 new slides with different layouts (Title Slide, Title and Content, Two Content,
etc.).
2. Delete slide 3.
3. Reorder the slides so the “Title and Content” slide comes second.
4. Add speaker notes to each slide describing what you'll say when presenting.
📑 Part 3: Formatting Text
1. On slide 1, change the font, color, and size of the title.
2. Format a paragraph in slide 2 to be center-aligned with a background color.
3. Add bullets to a list in slide 3.
4. Change the bullets to numbered format on slide 4.
🎨 Part 4: Design and Layout
1. Apply a theme to your presentation from the Design tab.
2. Change the background of slide 2 to a gradient fill.
3. Insert a date, footer, and slide number on all slides.
Part 5: Media and Objects
1. Insert a SmartArt diagram on slide 3 (e.g., process or cycle).
2. Add a WordArt title to slide 4.
3. Create a Text Box with your full name and drag it to the bottom-right of slide 1.
4. Insert an image related to ICT on slide 5.
5. Group the image with a shape and move it as a single object.
📊 Part 6: Tables and Charts
1. Insert a table (3 columns, 4 rows) into slide 2 showing sample data.
2. Import a table from a Word or Excel file if available.
3. Create a bar chart using sample data (e.g., “Students vs. Marks”).
4. Format the chart with a title and legend.
📚 Part 7: Presentation Features
1. Create a Photo Album presentation using at least 3 pictures.
2. Add section headers to group slides into “Introduction,” “Content,” and “Conclusion.”
3. Create a link from slide 1 to a website (e.g., https://www.microsoft.com).
4. Use the Slide Master to add a consistent logo to all slides.
Part 8: Finalize & Print
1. Check spelling and grammar using proofing tools.
2. Print the presentation as handouts (3 slides per page).
3. Save the final presentation as Final_Presentation_YourName.pptx
