WINE HAS ANCIENT ROOTS DATING BACK OVER 8,000 YEARS TO THE SOUTH CAUCASUS
REGION (MODERN-DAY GEORGIA, ARMENIA, AND IRAN). IT SPREAD THROUGH EARLY
CIVILIZATIONS SUCH AS EGYPT, MESOPOTAMIA, GREECE, AND ROME, WHERE IT BECAME
DEEPLY EMBEDDED IN RELIGIOUS PRACTICES, SOCIAL LIFE, AND TRADE. IN ANCIENT GREECE
AND ROME, WINE WAS A DAILY STAPLE LINKED TO GODS AND INTELLECTUAL GATHERINGS,
PARTICULARLY SYMPOSIUMS. THE ROMANS PLAYED A KEY ROLE IN EXPANDING VITICULTURE
ACROSS EUROPE, LAYING THE FOUNDATION FOR TODAY’S MAJOR WINE REGIONS.
OVER TIME, WINE EVOLVED INTO A SYMBOL OF REFINEMENT AND CULTURAL IDENTITY,
ESPECIALLY IN REGIONS LIKE FRANCE, ITALY, AND SPAIN. IT HELD SIGNIFICANT RELIGIOUS
MEANING IN CHRISTIAN, JEWISH, AND PAGAN RITUALS, REINFORCING ITS ROLE IN HUMAN
TRADITION. TODAY, WINE IS PRODUCED AND ENJOYED AROUND THE WORLD, MAINTAINING ITS
STATUS AS A MARKER OF HERITAGE, CELEBRATION, AND CONNECTION ACROSS DIVERSE
                                     CULTURES.

Harvesting & Preparation: Grapes are picked at peak ripeness, crushed to release
juice, and usually destemmed for red wine.
Fermentation: Yeast converts sugars into alcohol; red wines also extract color and
tannins from skins during this stage.
Pressing & Secondary Fermentation: Solids are removed, and some wines undergo a
second fermentation (e.g., sparkling wines).
Aging & Clarification: Wine is aged in tanks or barrels and clarified to remove
sediments.
Blending & Bottling: Wines may be blended for flavor, then bottled and stored
before consumption.
Wine contains varying levels of alcohol, typically measured as Alcohol by Volume (ABV). The alcohol
content in wine is influenced by several factors, including grape variety, climate, fermentation process, and
winemaking techniques.
Wine typically has an ABV ranging from 5% to 16%, though some outliers may fall outside this range.
