I- THEME: GROWING IN THE WORK OF THE LORD

II- BASE TEXT

A- 1 CORINTHIANS 15:58 - "Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work"
of the Lord always, knowing that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

III- INTRODUCTION
A- ACCORDING TO THE BASE TEXT, HOW SHOULD OUR GROWTH IN THE WORK BE
Sir?
SEEDING = CONSTANT
2- UNDERSTANDING THAT THE SACRIFICES AND EFFORTS WE MAKE TO GROW
IT IS NOT IN VAIN OR IT IS NOT TIME LOST

B- WHAT DOES THE WORD GROWTH MEAN?

1- GROWTH = NATURAL PROCESS THROUGH WHICH EXPERIENCES ARE EXPERIMENTED
CHANGES

C- WHAT 2 MAIN CHARACTERISTICS DO THINGS THAT GROW HAVE?

THEY ARE ALIVE
a) Can inanimate objects grow? A chair, a book, a stove, a car, etc...
b) John 10:10 guarantees us life, and consequently we have the opportunity to grow.

2- THEY EXPERIENCE CHANGES AS THEY GROW

a) When growth occurs, external and internal changes arise
b) In the human body, internal changes in size and external changes in appearance occur.
Internal changes - The size of our vital organs increases (heart, lungs, kidneys, etc..)
External changes - Hair texture, skin smoothness, wrinkles
The real change is something that can be seen.

IV-PRESENTATION
A- OUR GROWTH AREAS
CHRIST IN US
John 3:30 - "He must increase, but I must decrease"
a) It means that Christ is seen in us and in everything we do
b) It means to live as he did, to live his lifestyle
A life of obeying the Father (Philippians 2:8)
Doing good
3) Preaching and teaching the word of God (Matthew 9:35)
4) Fighting Evil

2 - IN THE GRACE AND KNOWLEDGE OF JESUS CHRIST

2 Peter 3:18 - "But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior"
Jesus Christ
Grace = Unmerited favor of God
Always understanding that what we have and achieve in life is by the grace of God, that's why
James 1:17 reminds us that: "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above"
high, from the Father of lights...
b) Knowledge of Jesus Christ
According to John 5:39 - The main way to acquire knowledge of Jesus Christ is through
from the deep and serious study of the scriptures

3- IN FA
2 Corinthians 10:15 - "We do not boast beyond measure in the labors of others, but we hope that...
As your faith grows, we will be greatly enlarged among you, according to our rule;
a) Faith is an important element in the life of the believer and has the ability to grow.
b) Again, the word teaches in Romans 10:17 that our faith grows when we pay attention
attention to the word of God *Attention = we hear it, we believe it, and we practice it

4- IN LOVE
2 Thessalonians 1:3 - "We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers, as is
worthy, for your faith is growing, and the love of each one of you abounds for
the others;
Philippians 1:9 - "And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and in
all knowledge
What is love?
A feeling that makes us feel good when we receive it or express it.
b) How can we express love?
With beautiful words of praise and recognition
2) With acts of generosity - supplying the needs of others
3) Forgiving the mistakes and offenses that others do to us
4) Sharing with others the good things we have
Salvation of the soul, home, food, clothing, etc..
True love is expressed with words and confirmed with actions.
d) The word of God urges us to have and maintain an abundant love for others, today.
we should have more than yesterday and more than today tomorrow.

5 - IN GOOD WORKS
Colossians 1:10 - "so that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, bearing fruit in every good work."
all good work, and growing in the knowledge of God;
a) In the short time that Jesus was among men, he established an exemplary style so that
Anyone who calls themselves a Christian should imitate and practice (Walk as he walked...)
b) Some of the good works that Jesus did:
He preached and taught the word at all times and places (Luke 8:1)
His desire to carry the truth was tireless.
He invested time and showed love and compassion to those whom others despised.
Like the adulterous woman, Zacchaeus, Samaritan woman, etc...
He healed the sick and delivered the demon-possessed (Matthew 9:35)
4) He fed the hungry (Matthew 14:19-21)
5) He forgave those who offended him (Luke 23:34)
He always sought to do the will of God (John 5:30)
6- IN THE TRUTH
Ephesians 4:15 - "but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head,
this is, Christ,
The true Christian always seeks to speak the truth
A half-truth or white lie is a lie and displeases God.
Proverbs 12:22 - ...lying lips are an abomination to the Lord...
(Revelation 21:8 - ..all liars will have their part in the lake...of fire)
Literally, those who play with lies will one day get burned.
b) He also handles all his matters and business using the truth.
Does not gain dishonest profits
c) Speaking and practicing the truth costs a lot and leads us to have problems, but when we walk
In integrity, we have the assurance that God will help us out of the problem. For the
On the contrary, when we encounter problems because we practice lying, we will have to leave the
problem ourselves.

7- IN THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE WORD

1 Peter 2:2 - "desire, like newborn infants, the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up
"You grow for salvation,"
a) How does a baby express its hunger?
He expresses it with a persistent cry.
b) The true Christian loves and desires the word of God, and seeks it insistently until it
find.
c) Can the baby eat solids?
Your system is not prepared to digest them and if you eat them it can harm you.
The same happens with Christians who try to consume ideas similar to the word of God.
(adulterated spiritual milk), sooner or later it will do great harm to you.
d) The children of God are like sheep, and God calls and appoints shepherds to care for their flocks to
that nourishes them. Only the food that God gives to those good Shepherds will be good to eat and
will nourish the soul of the believer. (Jeremiah 23:4 and Matthew 24:45).
