ADDITIONAL NOTES ON ACKNOWLEDGMENT MAKING:

An acknowledgment is the section at the start of your research

formatting where you express gratitude to the people who helped with your study.
You should decide who you are most appreciative of for their assistance with the
research
An acknowledgment for research must be formal, unlike
acknowledgments in a book. In the acknowledgment for research, you should not
express any strong feelings, instead, express gratitude for their contributions
Everyone who offered assistance should be acknowledged. Your
primary research adviser, panel members, other faculty members in your
department, anyone who helped fund the research, as well as family and friends,
are some people who are frequently mentioned in the acknowledgment for research.
Perhaps they provided initial assistance with your research proposal, or maybe they
assisted with thesis editing. Whatever the case, you can acknowledge them in your
research.
Although academic research projects should not be written in the first
person, you can do so in the research's acknowledgment section Although most
academic writing and research projects do not use the first person, the
acknowledgment section of a thesis can. Comparatively speaking to the rest of your
paper, the acknowledgment for the thesis section is informal. Nevertheless, you
should still avoid using strong emotive language in your acknowledgments

The use of inappropriate social media are topics that are gaining attention in Grade 9 students. These middle school
students reported using social media most often to connect with their friends, share pictures, and find out what others are
doing. These students have concerns about social media due to inappropriate postings, getting hacked, getting their feelings
hurt, lack of privacy. This study informs teachers, administrator, and parents on social media use by students.

CHAPTER 1

THE PROBLEM AND THE LITERATURE

Introduction

As students get more involved in technology at a young age, there is a growing concern for their safety. Inappropriate
use of social media is a growing concern. These themes are crucial to the well-being of our grade 9 students at Gonzalo
Gatchalian National High School.

On one hand, social media use provides great opportunities for connecting with others and creating and being part of
online communities that foster creativity, knowledge, and civic participation. For example, Facebook allows students to
connect outside the classroom and collaborate on assignments and projects, thus creating more opportunities for learning.
Through social media, youth can find out about volunteering opportunities and local political events.

Social media use, on the other hand, poses a number of societal concerns for Gonzalo Gatchalian National High
School's ninth grade students. Many people have raised concern that this use will have a negative influence for grade 9
students. Even students who felt well supported and connected to their peers at school sought out extra opportunities to
communicate with people they didn't know well, but few deep connections were formed online.

The conceptual review is topic-based and developmental in nature. There is no restriction on the number of references
that can be cited, but each one must be pertinent to the study's objectives. Just be sure to properly cite the sources of your
supporting information using the APA format, and try to avoid using any sources that are more than five years old.

Conceptual literature second topic

The arrangement of the topic should be from general to specific. Mostly, the pieces of the literature are taken from
books.

Online Information Review 46 (1), 182-203, 2022

Purpose

Numerous educational applications (APP) have been developed to assist traditional classroom teaching and student learning.
APP quality plays a critical role in influencing students' learning behaviors. However, the role negative mindsets, especially
computer anxiety, play in how APP quality affects student engagement remains unknown. To address the relationships among
APP quality, computer anxiety and student engagement in an APP-based learning environment, we developed an extended
information system (IS) success model that includes interface and instructor quality.

Design/methodology/approach

To empirically test the proposed model, we conducted a survey with a sample of 225 university students and examined the
hypotheses using the partial least squares (PLS) method.

Findings

Computer anxiety was demonstrated to fully mediate the relationships between student engagement and interface quality and
service quality and system quality. In addition, the instructor quality acts as a partial mediator of the relationship between
computer anxiety and student engagement.

Originality/value

This study reveals the important mediating role of computer anxiety in APP-assisted learning and the special status of
instructor quality and user experience in influencing student engagement. The findings of this study shed meaningful light on
the practical implications for instructors and APP software developers.

Background

Social networking sites are widely used by university students. This study investigated the purposes for which social
networking sites are used and their effects on learning, social interaction, and sleep duration.

Material and methods

A cross-sectional study was conducted among 300, 17–29-year-old female students at Prince Sattam bin Abdul Aziz
University. A questionnaire was used to collect data. Chi-squared (Fisher’s exact test) test was used to analyze the data.

Results

The results showed that 97% of the students used social media applications. Only 1% of them used social media for academic
purposes. Whereas 35% of them used these platforms to chat with others, 43% of them browsed these sites to pass time.
Moreover, 57% of them were addicted to social media. Additionally, 52% of them reported that social media use had affected
their learning activities, 66% of them felt more drawn toward social media than toward academic activities, and 74% of them
spent their free time on social media platforms. The most popular applications (i.e., based on usage) were Snapchat (45%),
Instagram (22%), Twitter (18%), and WhatsApp (7%). Further, 46% and 39% of them reported going to bed between 11 pm
and 12 am and between 1 am and 2 am, respectively. Finally, 68% of them attributed their delayed bedtime to social media
use, and 59% of them reported that social media had affected their social interactions.

Conclusions

A majority of the participants reported prolonged use of social networking sites for nonacademic purposes. These habitual
behaviors can distract students from their academic work, adversely affect their academic performance, social interactions,
and sleep duration, and lead to a sedentary lifestyle and physical inactivity, which in turn can render them vulnerable to non-
communicable diseases and mental health problems

Theoretical Framework

Name of the Theory

The theoretical framework identifies the key ideas in your study, suggests connections between them, and discusses

relevant theories that are based on a literature review. A solid theoretical foundation gives your research direction and enables

you to interpret, explain, and generalize your findings in a convincing manner. In other words, your theoretical framework is

an essential first step in writing your research paper and contextualizes your subsequent research. A well-rounded theoretical

framework sets you up for success later on in your research and writing process.

A conceptual framework illustrates what you expect to find through your research. It outlines the relevant variables

for your study and shows potential connections between them. A conceptual framework is a written or visual representation

of an expected relationship between variables. Variables are simply the characteristics or properties that you want to study.

Typically, the conceptual framework is created based on a review of previous research on the subject and thecries that have

been proposed.
