1. What is a digital image? How can you create one?

Ans: A picture is a digital image, which is representation of image in finite set of digital values 0
or 1, known as pixels. These are stored in various types of graphics files with the file extension,
such as GIF, JPG, JPEG, PNG, BMP, etc.

The image file stored on the computer, can be inserted into a document using different ways,
such as using Insert Image dialog, using Drag and Drop option, using Cut, Copy and Paste option
and lastly by Linking

2. Write steps to insert an image from the gallery using Drag and Drop method.

Ans: Insert images in the document by using Drag and Drop option. The standard procedure is
just drag the image from its source and drop it at desired position in the document. A general
procedure to insert an image using drag and drop option, is as follows

Step 1. Open the document to insert an image in LibreOffice Writer.

Step 2. Open a file browser window (Win+E) and select the image file to be inserted.

Step 3. Drag the image into the document

Step 4. Drop it, where you want it to appear in the document.

3. How is resizing of image different from cropping it?

Resizing and cropping are distinct image manipulation techniques. Resizing changes the overall
dimensions (width and height) of an image, potentially altering its file size and quality. Cropping,
on the other hand, removes portions of the image, effectively changing its composition and
aspect ratio without altering the resolution of the remaining content

4. What are the tools available in drawing toolbar? Describe any five tools

Ans: The drawing toolbar offers a variety of tools for creating and manipulating images. Some
common tools include: the Selection tool, used to select and move objects; the Line tool, used
to draw straight lines; the Rectangle tool, used to draw rectangular shapes; the Ellipse tool, used
to draw oval or circular shapes; and the Text tool, used to add text to the drawing.

Here's a more detailed look at five tools:

1. 1. Selection Tool:

This tool allows you to select, move, resize, and rotate objects on the canvas.
2. 2. Line Tool:

The line tool is a fundamental tool for drawing straight lines, which can be used as borders,
outlines, or even as part of more complex shapes.

3. 3. Rectangle Tool:

With this tool, you can create rectangular or square shapes by clicking and dragging on the
canvas.

4. 4. Ellipse Tool:

Similar to the rectangle tool, the ellipse tool allows you to draw circular or oval shapes by
clicking and dragging on the canvas.

5. 5. Text Tool:

This tool enables you to add text to your drawing. You can insert a text box and then type your
desired text

5.What are the benefits and drawbacks of grouping drawing objects?

Benefits of Grouping:

Organization:

Grouping keeps related objects together, making it easier to manage and locate them
within a larger drawing, especially when dealing with complex designs.

Efficiency:

Grouping allows for simultaneous resizing, moving, and formatting of multiple objects,
significantly saving time and effort compared to editing each object individually.

Consistency:

When adjustments are applied to a group, they are applied uniformly to all objects
within that group, ensuring design consistency and preventing unintentional variations.
Drawbacks of Grouping:
Complexity:
Over-grouping can make it difficult to isolate and edit individual elements within a
group, potentially complicating modifications.
Performance:
Complex groups with numerous objects might impact the performance of drawing
software, leading to slower processing times or larger file sizes.

Inflexibility:

Modifying individual elements within a group might require ungrouping and regrouping,
which can be cumbersome if frequent changes are needed.

6. Write steps to change properties for drawing objects.

Ans: On selecting the drawing object, in the document, It is a floating toolbar, and can be placed
anywhere on the screen. To set the properties before drawing the object, follow the given steps.

Step 1. From the Drawing Toolbar, select the object you want to draw.

Step 2. From Drawing Object Properties Toolbar, click on the icon of property to be modified.
Step 3. Change the value of parameter.

Step 4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 to change all desired properties.
