He is a lifetime member of 'World Presidents Organization' - WPO,
and a past Chapter Chairman of the 'Young Presidents Organization'
- YPO.
He served as a Director of Canada-Pakistan Business Council, and
on the Toronto Committee of the Human Rights Watch – HRW.
He has chaired the 'Corporate Award Committee of the
'Management Association of Pakistan' -MAP, and serves on the
Pakistan National Committee of the International Chambers of
Commerce (ICC).
He served on the 'Transportation Committee of the Paris based ICC
from 1997 - 2007, and represented the ICC at the United Nations
2003 General Assembly Session on Millenium Development Goals.
He has also advised the Government of Pakistan on development of
Postal Services.
Mr Awan is a member of the Chartered Institue of Transport, and a
Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society of the UK.
