SATURDAY TRIP TO THE BEACH
Hi Jude,
I can’t wait to go to the beach with you this Saturday! I’m
really sorry, but my parents can’t give me a lift to your
place before 10 o’clock. They always go to my
grandparents’ house really early on Saturday mornings.
Could you pick me up on your way to the beach?
A barbecue sound amazing! I don’t really like meat, so I’d
rather have something vegetarian. Thank you for asking!
After we get tired of swimming in the sea, why don’t we
play more badminton? I’ll bring an extra racket just in
case you need one.
See you soon on Saturday,
Tran.
FRIENDSHIP
I believe friends with similar character can understand
each other better. My best friend and I both enjoy reading
books. We often share stories and talk about them, which
makes our friendship strong. However, I don’t think the
best friends must always be alike. My friend is very
funny, while I’m shy, and she help me laugh more. I also
think it’s better to have just one best friend. With one
close friend, I can share everything and feel supported.
Having many friends is nice, but I feel a best friend gives
me deeper trust and care.
NEW SCHOOL ENGLISH-LANGUAGE
MAGAZINE
Dear Mr Mitchem
Thank you for inviting me to help with the new English-
language] magazine. One day I would like to be a
journalist, so I’m really looking forward to this exciting
opportunity
In my opinion, I feel more students would be more likely
to come to a meeting on Tuesday because there is a school
charity event next Thursday.
I would love to write an artcle about the school football
team’s recent matches.
I think many students would like to have an advice
section in the school magazine. Then we could publish
answer to their various questions.
Best wishes,
Tran
BOARD GAMES OR VIDEO GAMES: WHICH IS
MORE INTERESTING?
I think board games are more interesting to play than
video games. Board games, like chess or Monopoly, are
fun because you can play with your family or friends in
person. For example, I often play chess with my brother,
and we laugh a lot. Board games also help us learn new
things. When I play Monopoly, I learn how to manage
money and make smart decisions. Video games can be
exciting, but they are often played alone on a screen. I
think board games teach us to work together and talk
more, which is better for building skills.
LEARNING A LANGUAGE
Hi Teri
Nice to hear from you. I’d love to meet you so I can tell
you about how I learn English.
Unfortunately I can’t see you on Thursday because I have
a doctor’s appointment – but how about Wednesday? Why
don’t you come to my house and we can have a snack,
too?
If I were you, I wouldn’t buy anything yet. I’d ask the
teacher first. Perhaps he or she will recommend some
books to buy.
I think you are going to learn my language very quickly. It
will be fun to speak to you in Vietnamese! I’ll teach you a
Vietnamese song!
Hope to see you next week?

BEING HEALTHY
I believe doing sports and staying fit are very important
for young people. Sports help us stay strong reduce stress,
and buil confidence. For example, playing football with
friends keeps us active and happy. It also teaches
teamwork and discipline. To stay healthy, young people
can try fun activities like cycling, dancing, or swimming.
Eating healthy foods, such as fruits and vegetables, is also
a great way to feel good. Another fun idea is joining a
sports clubs at school to make new friends while
exercising. Staying healthy makes us feel energetic and
ready for life!
SCIENCE FESTIVAL
Hi
Thanks for getting me a ticket for the science festival. I’m
really excited about going to it!
Don’t worry about picking me up, my dad can drive me to
the festival. I will meet you outside the front entrance at
10 a.m.
I really don’t want to watch a film about dinosaurs for the
main activity. I’d rather build a robot because I’ve never
done that bnb bnbnbnb nbnbnbnbnbn
WRITING TEST 1 PRIMERY 2
Part1: party for Mr wright
Hi Chris!
Suggestion about the party for our teacher and I agree
with you. In my opinion, it’s a good idea and Mr Wright
will be very supprised!
In your email you will asked about the place for the party.
I decided that park will be better than the colledge,
because it’s a great opportunity to play games and make
barbeque all together.
Alse we need to bring some food to the party, because the
party will be on the nature and all student will become
hungry.
As for present, we can buy an expensive watches or pen.
Tran
Part 2: sport and exercise
I really like doing sports, and my favorite is running. I
run in the part near my house three times a week. It’s
simple exercise, but it’s makes me fell strong and healthy.
I enjoy the fresh air and the quite time while running. It
also helps me forget my stress after school. Another sport
I like is playing volleyball with my friends. It’s fun
because we laugh a lot and work together. For me, playing
sports is better than watching them. When I play, I feel
happy and active. Watching sports on tv is okay, but don’t
feel them same excitement. I think everyone should try a
sports they like because it’s good for the body and mind.
TEST 2
Part 1
Day out
Hi Mo,
Thank you for your email! I think your idea for a day out
this weekend is really great, and I had love to join you.
It’s true that we have been very busy recently so it will be
nie to relax and have some fun together.
I would prefer to go to the beach because I love
swimming in the sea and weather is perfect for it this
weekend. Also we can play some games on the beach, I
like volleyball, which would be really fun. What do you
think about this?
I agree that it’s a good idea to invite some other friends to
come with us. Maybe we can ask Sarah and Tom because
they are always fun to hang out with. It will be a great day
if we all go together! Do you have any other friends you
had like to invite?
Thanks for inviting me to your house for dinner
afterwards, but I’m sorry, I can’t come. I have to visit y
grandparents that evening, and I promised to help them
with some gardening. Maybe we can have dinner together
another time.
I’m really excited about our day out. Let me know what
you think about my ideas!
Best wishes,
Tran
Part 2: LEARNING ENGLISH
I started learning a few years ago, and I really enjoy it for
many reasons.
Frist, I like learning English because it helps e
communicate with people from different countries. For
example, I can talk to my friends from the UK or the USA
online, and it feels amazing to understand them. I also
love watching English movies and listening to English
songs. Now, I don’t need subtitle to understand my
favorite films, and I can sing along to confident, and it
opens a new word for me.
For people who are starting to learning English, I have
some advice. First, don’t be afraid to made mistakes.
When I started, I was shy because I made many errors,
but I learned that mistakes help us improve. Second, try
to practice every day. You can watch English videos, read
simple books, or even talk to yourself in English. For
example, I always try to learn five new words every day,
and I use them in sentences. Finally, find a friend to
practice with. I often speak English with my classmates,
and it’s dun because we help each other. English is easier
when you enjoy it so try to have fun while learning!
I hope my ideas are helpful. I’m excited to read other
articles on this website too!
TEST 3:
Part 1: cycling on Tuesday evening
Hi eden,
I’m so excited to go cycling with you on Tuesday
evening! I’m definitely still up for it, so don’t worry.
I had love to cycle around the lake because the scenery is
stunning, and I heard there are some lovely birds to see.
It’ll be a great way to relax.
I think we should bring some food. How about
sandwiches, fruit, and some water? We can have a picnic
by the lake.
Unfortunately, I can’t come to your house to watch a film
afterwards because I have to help my parent with some
chores that evening.
Can’t wait to see you!
Best,
Tran.
Part 2: FRIENDS
The importance of Friends
Friends are very important in our lives, but I don’t think
we need to contact them every day. Sometimes, we are
busy with school or family so it’s okay to talk a few times
a week. This still keeps the friendship strong.
I believe meeting friends face to face is better than just
chatting online. When we meet, we can share real
moments, laugh together, and make memories. Online
chats are convenient, but they don’t feel the same.
In my opinion, a good balance is best – meet when you an
and chat online when you’re busy!
Test 4:
Part 1: your visit
Hi Jamie,
I’m so happy to visit you next weekend! I’d really like to
take a boat trip on the river with you. I love being near
water, and it would be amazing to see the views while
we’re on the boat. It sounds like perfect day outdoors!
For evening with your friends, I can bring some
Vietnamese sandwiches, called banh mi. There are tasty
with fresh vegetables and meat. Do you think that’s a
good idea?
Could you tell me how to get to your house? Is there a bus
stop nearby, or should someone pick me up?
I’m looking forward to seeing you soon! Do you have any
other suggestions for my visit?
Best,
Tran.
Speaking
1. Tell us about your best friend.
Answer: My best friend is Anna. She’s very kind and
funny. We’ve been friends for three years, and we met at
school. She likes reading books and playing badminton.
We often hang out together on weekends, and we talk
about everything. I like her because she always listens to
me and makes me laugh.
2. How often do you use the internet?
Answer: I use the internet every day. I usually go online
to do my homework, watch videos, or chat with my
friends. I think I spend about two or three hours a day on
the internet. It’s very useful for me, but I try not to use it
too much.
3. What do you usually do in the evening?
Answer: In the evening, I usually do my homework first.
After that, I like to watch TV with my family or read a
book. Sometimes, I play games on my phone or talk to
my friends online. I also help my mom with dinner
sometimes. It’s a relaxing time for me.
4. What is your favourite school subject? (Why?)
Answer: My favourite school subject is English. I like it
because it’s interesting, and I love learning new words.
It’s also fun to speak English with my friends and teacher.
I think English is very useful for my future, so I enjoy
studying it.
5. Which TV programmes do you enjoy watching?
(Why?)
Answer: I enjoy watching comedies and game shows on
TV. My favourite programme is a comedy called
"Friends." It’s very funny, and I like the characters a lot. I
also watch game shows because they’re exciting, and I
can learn new things. I usually watch TV with my family,
and we laugh together.
6. Do you like playing or watching any sports?
(Why? / Why not?)
Answer: Yes, I like playing sports, especially badminton.
I play it with my friends at school, and it’s really fun. I
also enjoy watching football on TV because it’s exciting,
and I support my favourite team. I think sports are good
for health, and they make me feel happy.
7. What’s your favourite kind of music? (Why?)
Answer: My favourite kind of music is pop music. I like
it because it’s cheerful and easy to listen to. My favourite
singer is Taylor Swift, and I love her songs. I usually
listen to music when I’m doing my homework or when
I’m relaxing. It makes me feel good.
8. Tell us about your bedroom.
Answer: My bedroom is small but very comfortable. I
have a bed, a desk, and a wardrobe. The walls are light
blue, which is my favourite colour. I also have some
posters of my favourite singers on the wall. I like my
bedroom because it’s quiet, and I can relax or study there.
Part 3 In the photograph, I can see a library. There are
many bookshelves with lots of books on them. The room
looks quiet and organized, and there are some posters on
the walls. There is also a plant in the corner, which makes
the room look nice.
There are three people in the picture. They look like
students because they are sitting at a table with books and
notebooks. They are studying or doing their homework.
One person is writing something, and the others are
reading or looking at their books. They seem very focused
on their work.
The table they are sitting at is in the middle of the library,
and there are chairs around it. The library has big
windows, so there is some light coming in. I think it’s a
good place to study because it’s quiet and comfortable.

### Tình huống:
A girl is going on a long bus journey with her family to
visit some relatives. She can take one thing with her on
the bus for entertainment during the journey. Talk together
about the different things she could take with her, and say
which would be best.
---
### Nội dung mẫu (Thảo luận giữa hai thí sinh)
**Candidate A:**
I think the girl is going on a long bus journey, so she
needs something to keep her entertained. Maybe she can
take a book. What do you think?
**Candidate B:**
Yes, a book is a good idea because she can read stories,
and it’s quiet, so it won’t disturb other people on the bus.
But I also think she could take a phone or a tablet. She
can listen to music or play games on it. What do you think
about that?
**Candidate A:**
I agree, a phone or a tablet is a good choice because she
can do many things with it, like watching videos or
chatting with her friends. But maybe the battery will run
out if the journey is very long. Do you think she should
take headphones if she uses a phone?
**Candidate B:**
Yes, definitely! Headphones are important because she
can listen to music or watch videos without making noise.
I also think she could take some snacks, but that’s not
really for entertainment. Maybe a book or a phone is
better. Which one do you think is the best?
**Candidate A:**
Hmm, I think a book is the best choice because it doesn’t
need a battery, and she can read for a long time. Also, it’s
easy to carry. But if she likes music or games, a phone
with headphones is good too. I think it depends on what
she likes more. What do you think?
**Candidate B:**
I agree with you. I think a book is the best because it’s
simple and doesn’t need charging. But if she gets bored
with reading, she can take a phone as well, just in case.
So, maybe a book is the best choice for her.
**Candidate A:**
Yes, I think we both agree that a book is the best thing for
her to take on the bus.

### Nội dung mẫu (Thảo luận giữa hai thí sinh)
**Interlocutor:** Have you ever been on a really long
journey? (Where did you go?)
**Candidate A:** Yes, I have been on a long journey.
Last year, I went to Da Nang with my family. It was a
long trip by car, and it took about 10 hours. We went there
to visit the beach and some famous places. What about
you?
**Candidate B:** I’ve been on a long journey too. Two
years ago, I went to Hanoi by train with my friends. It was
a school trip, and the journey took about 12 hours. We
visited the Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake. It was
really fun!
---
**Interlocutor:** Which do you prefer, travelling by car
or travelling by bus? (Why?)
**Candidate A:** I prefer travelling by car because it’s
more comfortable. In a car, I can stop anytime if I need to
rest or eat something. Also, I can listen to music and talk
with my family. A bus is okay, but sometimes it’s
crowded, and I can’t stop when I want. What do you
think?
**Candidate B:** I think I prefer travelling by bus. It’s
cheaper than a car, and I don’t have to worry about
driving. I can just sit, relax, and look out of the window.
But I agree with you that a car is more comfortable. It
depends on the situation, I think.
---
**Interlocutor:** Have you ever been on an aeroplane?
(Did you enjoy it?)
**Candidate A:** Yes, I’ve been on an aeroplane once. I
went to Singapore with my parents, and I really enjoyed
it. It was exciting because I could see the clouds from the
window, and the flight was very fast. But I was a bit
scared during takeoff. Have you been on a plane?
**Candidate B:** No, I haven’t been on an aeroplane yet,
but I’d like to try it. I think it would be fun because it’s
fast, and I’ve heard the view from the sky is amazing. But
I might feel a bit nervous too, like you did.
---
**Interlocutor:** Do you like travelling by train? (Why? /
Why not?)
**Candidate A:** Yes, I like travelling by train. It’s very
relaxing because I can walk around a little, and the seats
are comfortable. Also, I love looking at the scenery
outside, like the mountains and fields. What about you?
**Candidate B:** I like travelling by train too, but
sometimes it takes a long time. I enjoyed my train trip to
Hanoi because I could talk with my friends and eat snacks
together. But if I’m in a hurry, I think a train is not the
best choice.
---
**Interlocutor:** Is it important for people to think about
the environment when they choose how to travel?
(Why? / Why not?)
**Candidate A:** Yes, I think it’s important to think
about the environment. For example, cars and aeroplanes
use a lot of fuel, and that can cause pollution. If we use a
bus or a train, it’s better for the environment because
more people can travel together. What do you think?
**Candidate B:** I agree with you. We should think
about the environment because pollution is a big problem.
Trains and buses are better, like you said. But sometimes
people need to use a car or a plane if the journey is very
far, so maybe they can try to use them less.
---
**Interlocutor:** Thank you. That is the end of the test.

Test 2:
Part 1
1. Tell us about your home.
Answer: I live in a small house with my family. It has
three bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, and a small

quiet, and I can study there. The house is in a nice area
with many trees around, and I like it because it’s
comfortable and cozy.
2. What do you use the internet for?
Answer: I use the internet for many things. I often go

friends on social media. Sometimes, I play games online
too. I think the internet is very useful for learning and
having fun.
3. What do you usually do when you get home from
school? (Why?)
Answer: When I get home from school, I usually take a

it helps me relax after a busy day at school.
4. What is your favourite day of the week? (Why?)
Answer: My favourite day of the week is Saturday. I like

before the new week starts.
5. Would you like to learn to play a musical
instrument? (Why? / Why not?)
Answer: Yes, I would like to learn to play a musical
instrument, maybe the guitar. I think it would be fun
because I love music, and playing the guitar looks cool.
Also, I can play songs for my friends and family. But I’m
not sure if I have enough time to practice because I’m
busy with school.
6. How do you usually travel to school? (Why?)
Answer: I usually travel to school by bicycle. My school
is not very far from my house, so it takes about 10
minutes to get there. I like riding my bike because it’s
good exercise, and I can enjoy the fresh air in the
morning. It’s also faster than walking.
7. What’s your favourite kind of film? (Why?)
Answer: My favourite kind of film is comedy. I like
comedy films because they make me laugh, and I feel
happy after watching them. My favourite comedy movie
is "Home Alone." I also like watching these films with my
family because we can laugh together.
8. Tell us about the clothes you like wearing.
Answer: I like wearing casual clothes, like jeans and T-
shirts. They are comfortable, and I can move easily when
I play with my friends. I also like wearing sneakers
because they are good for walking. My favourite colour is
blue, so I often wear blue clothes.
Part 2
Candidate A: Describe the photograph (Some people
doing sport)
Answer:
In the photograph, I can see some people doing sport. I
think they are playing football in a park. There are about
five or six people, and they look like friends because they
are smiling and having fun. One person is kicking a ball,
and the others are running around.
The place looks like a big park with green grass and some
trees in the background. The weather seems nice because
it’s sunny, and the sky is clear. I can also see a bench and
a small path in the park. The people are wearing casual
clothes, like T-shirts, shorts, and sports shoes. I think they
are enjoying their time together.
Candidate B: Describe the photograph (Some people
helping at home)
Answer:
In the photograph, I can see some people helping at home.
I think they are in a kitchen because there is a table, some
plates, and a sink. There are three people in the picture.
One person is washing the dishes, another person is
drying them with a towel, and the third person is putting
the plates in a cupboard.
The kitchen looks clean and bright, with a big window
letting in some light. There are also some flowers on the
table, which makes the room look nice. The people are
wearing casual clothes, like T-shirts and jeans. They seem
to be working together as a family, and they look happy to
help each other.
Part 3:
Tình huống:
A teacher wants his class to learn more about space. Here
are some different ways to learn about space. Talk
together about the different ways to learn about space, and
say which students would find most interesting.
Nội dung mẫu (Thảo luận giữa hai thí sinh)
Candidate A:
Okay, the teacher wants the class to learn about space, and
there are different ways to do that. I think one way is
reading books about space. It’s good because books have
a lot of information, like facts about planets and stars.
What do you think?
Candidate B:
Yes, I agree, reading books is a good way to learn because
you can find a lot of details. But I think watching
documentaries about space is better. Documentaries have
videos and pictures, so it’s more exciting for students.
They can see the moon, the stars, and maybe astronauts.
What do you think about that?
Candidate A:
I think watching documentaries is a great idea! It’s more
fun than reading, and students can see real images of
space. Another way could be visiting a space museum.
They can see models of rockets and learn about space
travel. Do you think students would like that?
Candidate B:
Yes, I think visiting a museum would be very interesting!
Students can see big rockets and maybe try some
activities, like touching a meteorite. I also think doing
experiments in class, like making a small rocket, could be
fun. It’s a good way to learn by doing something. What do
you think?
Candidate A:
That’s a good idea! Doing experiments sounds exciting
because students can work together and see how things
work, like how a rocket flies. Another way could be using
the internet to learn about space, like watching videos or
playing space games online. It’s easy and fun. Which way
do you think is the most interesting for students?
Candidate B:
Hmm, I think all the ways are good, but I think watching
documentaries and doing experiments are the most
interesting. Documentaries are fun to watch, and
experiments make learning active. But if I have to choose
one, I think doing experiments is the best because
students can have fun and learn at the same time. What do
you think?
Candidate A:
I agree with you. Doing experiments is probably the most
interesting for students because they can try things
themselves and it’s not boring. So, I think that’s the best
way to learn about space.
Part 4
Interlocutor: Do you like learning about space? (Why? /
Why not?)
Candidate A: Yes, I like learning about space because it’s
very interesting. I love reading about stars, planets, and
astronauts. It’s exciting to know more about the universe,
and I think space is a big mystery. What about you?
Candidate B: I like learning about space too. I think it’s
amazing to learn about the moon and the sun. I also like
watching videos about space because they show beautiful
pictures of galaxies. It makes me feel curious about
what’s out there.
Interlocutor: Would you like to travel to space one day?
(Why? / Why not?)
Candidate A: I’m not sure if I would like to travel to
space. It sounds exciting because I could see the Earth
from space, and that would be amazing. But I think it’s
also dangerous, and I might feel scared in a rocket. What
do you think?
Candidate B: I would like to travel to space one day! I
think it would be a great adventure. I’d love to float in
space and see the stars up close. But I agree with you, it
might be a bit scary, and I’d need to be very brave. Maybe
in the future, it will be safer.
Interlocutor: Do you think people will live on other
planets one day? (Why? / Why not?)
Candidate A: I think people might live on other planets
one day, like Mars. Scientists are working on it, and they
say it’s possible. But it will be difficult because there’s no
air or water on other planets. What do you think?
Candidate B: I’m not sure if people will live on other
planets. I think it’s a good idea because the Earth is
getting crowded, and we need more space. But like you
said, it’s hard because we need air, food, and water to live.
Maybe in the future, technology will help us.
Interlocutor: Do you like watching science fiction films
that take place in space? (Why? / Why not?)
Candidate A: Yes, I like watching science fiction films
about space. They are very exciting, and I love the special
effects, like spaceships and aliens. My favorite movie is
"Star Wars." It’s fun to imagine what space could be like.
Do you like them?
Candidate B: I like those films too! They are very
interesting because they show new ideas about space, like
living on other planets or meeting aliens. I also like the
action in those movies. But sometimes they are a bit
scary, so I watch them with my friends.
Interlocutor: Is it better to learn more about the Earth or
more about space? (Why?)
Candidate A: I think it’s better to learn more about the
Earth because we live here, and we need to take care of it.
For example, we should learn about pollution and how to
protect the environment. But learning about space is
important too. What do you think?
Candidate B: I agree with you. I think learning about the
Earth is more important right now because we need to
solve problems like climate change. But space is
interesting too, and maybe one day we’ll need to know
more about it if we travel to other planets. So, I think both
are good, but the Earth is more important now.
Interlocutor: Thank you. That is the end of the test.
