my two-months Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AIML) Internship at Edunet
Foundation.
First and foremost, I am deeply thankful to Edunet Foundation & AICTE for providing me
with this valuable opportunity. The experience has been incredibly insightful, allowing me to
apply my theoretical knowledge to real-world projects and significantly enhance my practical
skills.

their unwavering guidance, patience, and mentorship. Their expertise and constructive
feedback were instrumental in my learning process, and their support made this a truly
enriching experience.

and supportive atmosphere of the team made it a pleasure to come to work every day. I am

Edunet Foundation is a social enterprise which was founded in 2015 and focuses on bridging
the academia-industry divide, enhancing student employability, promoting innovation and
creating an entrepreneurial ecosystem in India. Working primarily with emerging technologies,
and striving to leverage them to augment, upgrade the knowledge ecosystem and equip the
beneficiaries to become contributors themselves, we work extensively to build a workforce
with an IR 4.0 enabled career.
The organization has enjoyed Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social
Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations since 2020. With a national footprint, EF’s
programs, online and instructor-led, benefit tens of thousands of learners every year.
LEARNING
During the internship, I gained hands-on exposure to Artificial Intelligence and Machine
Learning concepts and their practical applications. Some of my key learnings include:
Understanding of data preprocessing techniques (handling missing values, encoding
categorical variables, feature scaling).
Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) to identify patterns, trends, and correlations in
employee-related datasets.
Application of regression techniques (Linear Regression, Multiple Regression, etc.) for
salary prediction.
Model evaluation using performance metrics like R² Score, Mean Absolute Error
(MAE), and Mean Squared Error (MSE).
Improved skills in Python programming and use of libraries such as Pandas, NumPy,
Matplotlib, Seaborn, and Scikit-learn.
Experience in splitting datasets into training and testing sets to ensure model
generalization.
Practical knowledge of deploying ML models and presenting results effectively.
PROJECT DETAIL
The project focused on building a machine learning model to Predict Employee Salaries based
on various factors such as experience, education, role, department, and skill set.
Steps followed in the project:
1. Problem Definition: Predict employee salaries to assist HR in decision-making and
salary benchmarking.
2. Data Collection: Used employee dataset (real/simulated) containing features like age,
experience, department, job role, education level, etc.
3. Data Preprocessing: Cleaned data, handled missing values, encoded categorical
features, and applied feature scaling.
4. Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA): Visualized distributions and correlations between
salary and other factors.
5. Model Building: Implemented regression algorithms such as Linear Regression,
Decision Tree Regressor, and Random Forest Regressor.
6. Model Evaluation: Compared models based on accuracy and error metrics; selected
the best-performing model.
7. Result: The model successfully predicted salaries with high accuracy, highlighting the
most influential factors affecting pay.
8. Tools & Technologies Used: Python, Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, Matplotlib,
Seaborn , Jupyter Notebook.
Outcome
-- Successfully developed a Machine Learning model to predict employee salaries based on
various features (like experience, education, role, etc.).
-- Implemented different algorithms (e.g., Linear Regression, Decision Trees, Random
Forest, etc. – mention whichever you used) and compared their performance.
-- Achieved a good accuracy level (mention the accuracy/metrics you got, e.g., R² score,
MAE, MSE).
-- Created a pipeline for data preprocessing, feature selection, and model evaluation.
-- The project provided insights into how data-driven approaches can assist HR departments
in making fair and efficient salary decisions.
CONCLUSION
-- The internship enhanced practical knowledge of AI & ML concepts, including data
preprocessing, model training, evaluation, and optimization.
-- Learned how to handle real-world data (cleaning, missing values, scaling, encoding
categorical variables).
-- Gained hands-on experience in Python libraries like Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Scikit-
learn (or whichever you used).
-- The project demonstrated that machine learning can play a key role in salary prediction,
helping organizations reduce bias and improve decision-making.
-- Overall, the internship strengthened problem-solving, analytical, and implementation skills,
bridging the gap between theoretical learning and real-world applications.

inability to be present.

3. I declare that I will ensure the timely submission of the project and will deliver a presentation within the stipulated time to
