TENSE ONE SHOT A TO Z NOTES

TENSE A to Z WITH FORMULA & EXAMPLES

1. SIMPLE PRESENT
Formula: Subject + V1 (+s/es)
Example: He writes a letter.

2. PRESENT CONTINUOUS
Formula: Subject + am/is/are + V1 + ing
Example: She is writing a letter.

3. PRESENT PERFECT
Formula: Subject + has/have + V3
Example: They have written five letters.

4. PRESENT PERFECT CONTINUOUS


Formula: Subject + has/have been + V1 + ing
Example: He has been writing for two hours.

5. SIMPLE PAST
Formula: Subject + V2
Example: I wrote a letter yesterday.

6. PAST CONTINUOUS
Formula: Subject + was/were + V1 + ing
Example: They were writing when I called.

7. PAST PERFECT
Formula: Subject + had + V3
Example: She had written before he arrived.

8. PAST PERFECT CONTINUOUS


Formula: Subject + had been + V1 + ing
Example: I had been writing for an hour before lunch.

9. SIMPLE FUTURE
Formula: Subject + will + V1 / is going to + V1
Example: We will write the report tomorrow.

10. FUTURE CONTINUOUS


Formula: Subject + will be + V1 + ing
Example: He will be writing at 5 PM.

11. FUTURE PERFECT


Formula: Subject + will have + V3
Example: She will have written the report by Friday.

12. FUTURE PERFECT CONTINUOUS


Formula: Subject + will have been + V1 + ing
Example: By next week, I will have been writing for a month.

EXTRA TRICKS
- Use time indicators: now, yesterday, since, for, by next week, etc.
- Learn forms of verbs (V1, V2, V3)
- Practice daily for better results.
