History / Uses
Margosa is a tree which has been used for a long time in traditional Indian agriculture and medicine.
The plant is really well-known for its insect repellent properties and the therapeutical use of the plant
have been laid down in classical texts of Ayurveda.
The tree may live for more than 200 years. The leaves are rich in polyphenols and terpenoic actives.
Margosa leaves contain numerous terpenic compounds called limonoids, as well polyphenols and
volatile cyclic sulfides. By its antiseptic and tonic properties Margosa supports the restriction of dilated
pores and is also recommended as an anti-inflammatory active.
