Rules and Regulations of Football
Football is played between two teams of 11 players each, including a goalkeeper. The main
objective is to score more goals than the opposing team within 90 minutes (two halves of 45
minutes).
Some of the most important rules:
Only the goalkeeper can touch the ball with hands inside the penalty area.
The ball is out of play if it completely crosses the goal line or the touchline.
Fouls are punished with free kicks or penalty kicks.
Yellow card = warning; Red card = sent off.
The offside rule prevents players from gaining an unfair advantage.
Fair play and discipline are ensured by referees, linesmen, and VAR (Video Assistant
Referee) in professional games.
