Cabinet Hardware Description (HD)

1 Cabinet
7090-2 CEM uses unified cabinet of Coriant devices with large capacity. There
are two types of cabinet.

1.1 Cabinet Specification


Table 1 shows specifications of the 7090-2 CEM cabinet.

The weight is measured based on an empty cabinet.

1.2 Cabinet Appearance


Figure 1 shows the appearance overview of 7090-2 CEM cabinet. (The one
with 600 mm depth is used as an example.)

1.3 PDP
The PDP (Power Distribution Panel) is installed inside the cabinet and under
the alarm indicators. It provides –48 V DC power supply for the device by
accessing an external power source, and the magnetic circuit breaker is used.
The PDP has eight (four primary and four standby) channels power (90 A in
total) inputs and outputs. It can supply power with “1 + 1 protection” to

maximum four devices at the same time. Each device can access two
channels power supply, and they are mutually protected, so that the device
runs normally even if one power supply fails.
Figure 2 shows the PDP connection diagram.

PDP –48 V and BGND both have two inputs, and PGND have one input.
The output one (A1–A4) and output two (B1–B4) of –48 V connect to the DC
power connector separately, providing power protection for the device. The
BGND output connects to the power ground of each group, and PGND output
connects to the grounding rod.
PDP specifications are shown in Table 2.

2 Subrack

2.1 Subrack Structure


Coriant 7090-2 CEM supports the optical interface, electrical interface, power
port, network management system (NMS) port, and other ports, which are all
front-facing.
The design of 7090-2 CEM meets the ETSI ETS-300119 standard. Figure 3
shows the sub-rack structure overview.

2.2 Subrack Functions


7090-2 CEM is a highly integrated cartridge device, which is composed of a
master unit, switching unit, clock unit, service processing unit, and other
functional units. It provides 10 x GE (o) + 4 x GE (e) + 2 x STM-1.
7090-2 CEM mainly supports the following functions:

Table 4 lists the technical data of 7090-2 CEM subrack. The subrack can be
mounted in the cabinet with 300mm depth, and all connections to the 7090-2
CEM are front-facing.

2.3 System Hardware


The non-blocking switching capacity of the system is 14 G.
Figure 4 shows the operating principle of 7090-2 CEM hardware infrastructure,
including the data switching plane, system control plane, system clock, as well
as management plane interface of the device. The service processing module
supports functions of NNI and UNI for PTN devices.

2.4 Board Structure
