Round 0 is 6 chains joined with a slip stitch to form a ring.
Please, follow the diagram for Rounds 1-23.
Round 23 is the last round of pattern before attaching the circle to the hoop.
Round 24 connects the crocheted circle to the hoop. See “Fitting into the hoop” below.
Preparing the hoop
Any hoop can be used so long as it allows for the crocheted circle to be well stretched.
For best looking result that integrates the hoop and the crochet piece into one item, wrap the
yarn around the hoop. First, wrap tape that is sticky of both sides around the hoop. Then, wrap
the yarn around the hoop. It will stick to the tape. Hide the yarn ends with smaller crochet hook
or tapestry needle and glue with fabric glue if needed, trying to keep all gluing, and hiding on
one side that will later become the back side of the wall hanging.

Fitting into the hoop

The diameter of crocheted circle after Round 23 should be smaller than the diameter of the
hoop. How much smaller may vary depending on the yarn used as soft yarns stretch more than
unbleached raw linen yarn that was used the pictures.

First, temporarily tie the crocheted circle into the hoop in at least 12-16 places with differently
colored yarn. Check if the fit is good. The goal is to have it well stretched.

Work round # 24 (+ chains around the hoop) while the crocheted circle with finished rounds 1-
23 is tied to the hoop. It may be a bit uncomfortable. You will have to crochet under tension.

The last round that incorporates loops and attaches the crochet piece to the hoop is probably
the most challenging part and may require some ad-hoc adjustments. No two crocheters will
produce identical results even when the same yarn and hook size is used. Fortunately, like
everything else, it does get easier with practice.
