KFC originated in 1930 when Colonel Harland Sanders opened a small restaurant in Kentucky that offered fried chicken using his secret recipe of 11 spices. In 1952, he launched the first KFC franchise and quickly expanded the chain across the U.S. and the world. Although it changed hands several times, today KFC is the largest chicken restaurant chain in the world with over 18,000 locations in 120 countries.

HISTORY OF KFC

Kentucky Fried Chicken, known worldwide as KFC, is a chain of


restaurants that specialize in the preparation of fried chicken in all its
presentations, is part of the Yum! Brands group and its initials translate to fried chicken

more than 18,000 branches distributed in 180 countries.
