Recovering My Identity in Christ

Our identity is something very valuable; if we do not know who we are,

then we will not know where we are going, and if we do not know where
Let's go then, we have arrived.

As born-again Christians through faith in Jesus Christ, we have

a new identity, a purpose, a destiny.

Some Jewish men greeted the new day with prayer:

Lord, I thank you that I am not a Gentile, a slave, or a woman.

Pablo speaks to the Galatians and tells them what happens when they move from the law to
the Faith.

Galatians 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek; neither slave nor free; there is no
neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 3:29 And if you are Christ's, then you are Abraham's seed.
Abraham you are, and heirs according to the promise.

Receive a gift for fulfilling the condition.

Recovering my identity in Christ

Who am I? Whom do I belong to?

Identity

We cannot talk about identity if we do not know what this word means.
many of us say words we don't understand and often assume
what something means and we may be wrong.

It is necessary to know the meaning of the words we use in our

daily living.

What is IDENTITY?

Set of traits, characteristics, qualities, and attitudes of

a person who allows one to be distinguished from another.
So we can identify a person who has identity
Guanacastecan from another that is from San Jose, or we can distinguish even the
nationalities of people based on their characteristics or way of speaking.

Example: the difference between a Mexican and a tico, we notice it by their

attitudes, food, how they speak, etc...

Introduction

Now what can we say about Christians...?

Did we acquire any identity? What should our identity be like?

Just by saying that I am a Christian, my identity changes...!

If the same must happen with the Christians, we must assume a

identity of children of GOD.

Many of us have lost our identity, our attitudes

they do not show who we really are, it is time to identify in what
we fail to assume this identity.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works
works, which God prepared in advance for us to walk in
they

First of all, Christian identity is not a set of values, rituals or

even cultures, it is not about coming to church or singing praises, but it is the
becoming like Christ is not just about following Him but there is a need to
imitate him/her.

Our Works

In today's world, it seems that we fail as Christians due to lack of

identity. We have taken the gaze away from the perfect model to whom
we must continue to discover his identity... to Jesus.

Abraham

Genesis 20
Fear... forget where GOD had taken him out from.

Do the works matter...?

James 2:17 Likewise, faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
same.
But someone will say: You have faith, and I have works.
Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.
Stage 2:19 You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the
Demons believe, and they tremble.
But do you want to know, O vain man, that faith without works is
dead?

If I say that I believe in GOD, I must proceed as he asks me to.

If I say I am a Christian, it is because I follow Jesus and his teachings,

How much have I learned from him if I do not do as he does.

Many of us stop doing good before the Lord and

our works become vain.

Stg_2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so

faith without works is also dead.

Relationship between body and spirit.

Aaron …. Exodus 32….

Chosen as high priest with garments as such.

He changed his garments, fell short of his calling and service, murmured against
Moses.

How to achieve this, how to achieve a relationship such that my body is filled with
spirit.

The word of God teaches us well that we must set our eyes on
Jesus, the author and finisher of faith.

Heb_12:2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and

consumer of faith, which by the joy placed
he suffered the cross before him, disregarding the
oprobrium, and sat at the right hand of the throne of God.

Today more than ever we must strive to know our

identity, but knowing it with humility and recognizing who we are in
reality.

Go out and preach, and if necessary, open your mouth!

May our deeds be such that we do not have to say a word.

To achieve this we must read the word, and in reality the Christian of today
Little reads the word.

We must rid ourselves of all lies of the enemy, and of all lies.
Our position in Christ, our identity
spiritual in Christ has an incomparable value and God wants and desires that
let's discover our identity in his son Jesus.

Reflection of the frogs...

We have forgotten that

In Christ:

We are new creatures, and we continue with worldly attitudes.

In Christ

We are free, yet we remain tied to customs that lead us to not

walk in the freedom given by Christ on the Cross
We are forgiven, and we continue to burden ourselves with sin.

We are more than conquerors, and we continue to lose battles against the
Devil when he deceives us with his lies.

Lies about illness, about fear, about not being loved, about not
we can reach the blessings.

And one of the most recognized...

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

And we continue to seek to strengthen ourselves in everything but in Christ.

For that reason, it is said that the greatest discovery is not outside, but
inside ourselves, where we begin by acquiring an identity
that we have lost.

Moses... Exodus 2

Egyptian or Hebrew

Change of identity after having lived as an Egyptian all his life

recovering not only his identity but also his calling...

If we were born outside the gospel... and came to know Him,

we recover our identity.. chosen before the foundation of the
world.

We accept Christ

For those of us who have accepted Christ into our hearts, we must
to know that above all things, we are children of God. And not only children, but
beloved children of God and co-heirs with Christ.
But to all who received him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

12. But to all who received him, to those who believe in his name, he
God has the power to make them children of God; 13 who are not
born not of blood, nor of the will of flesh, nor of the will of man,
son of God.

Pedro ..... from Fisherman to Disciple of Christ

Mark 14 ..... Peter's Denial

Juan 21 ...... Forgiveness and return to his identity

He paid a great price for us to be his children. We have to take

advantage of that great privilege.
Pablo ... From persecutor of Christians to Disciple of Christ even without
to know him, his letters today guide us to be spiritual and to recover
our identity.

Parable of the Prodigal Son Luke 15

Two children

One single identity

The one who left his home losing his identity and having to fight to
to regain her, shedding her pride to acknowledge that she was wrong.

And the other, the older brother who lost his identity even without leaving home.

Let us not be like the brother of the prodigal son who stayed in the house of
father but never enjoyed the privileges of being a son.

And I complain to his father when his brother did take on the position of son.
even after having lost her.

Nowadays the same thing happens. There are many Christians who do not enjoy the
gospel because they are like the older brother who does not take advantage of
his privileges.
His attitude, even at home, was not that of a son... but that of a foreigner, one of these.

We have many in the churches.

Privileges that we have as children:

Purpose

1 Peter 2:9

But you are a chosen lineage, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people
acquired by God, so that you may proclaim the virtues of the one who called you
from darkness to His marvelous light;

Position
And raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
and together with him he raised us up, and he also made us sit in the
heavenly places with Christ Jesus,

Walk in Peace

Philippians 4:7

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your
hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

Decision making

It's time to change, it is said that when the devil is discovered he is

the effect of deception ends in us.
We've already discovered you... Now you have no power over me...

We must then change our way of being, according to what the

word asks us:
As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; for it is written: "Be holy, because I am holy."

Live as obedient children, seeking holiness

1Pe 1:14 as obedient children, do not conform

to the desires you used to have while you were in your
ignorance
but, as he who called you is holy,
be ye also holy in all your
way of life
1Pe 1:16 because it is written: Be holy, for
I am a saint.

Our attitude and behavior as children of God must represent a

Holy God, following the model of Christ.

Conclusion
Pablo said..."For me, to live is Christ." Let us purify our minds,
heart, eyes, ears, hands, etc. to live and reflect Christ in everything
that we do.

Then it will be when we will be assuming the

identity of Christians.
In this case, as children of God, let us be faithful to fulfill our
responsibility of being children of God, according to the decision we made one day
with our lips to accept Him in our hearts and live for Him.

Let's start with our true identity, that of children of God.
