Auxiliary drive belt tensioner holding tool - no. KM-6130.


Camshaft sprocket holding tool 1 - no. KM-6347.
Camshaft sprocket holding tool 2 - no. KM-956-1.
Camshaft locking tool(s) - no. EN-46781.
Tensor blocking tool - no. KM-955.
Crankshaft pulley holder tool - no. KM-662-C.
Crankshaft locking pin - no. EN-46785.

General precautions
General precautions

Disconnect the ground cable from the battery.


Remove the glow plugs to make it easier to turn the engine.
Rotate the engine in the normal direction of rotation (unless otherwise specified).
Respect the tightening pairs.
If it is necessary: Mark the location of the crankshaft position sensor before removing it.
Do not rotate the crankshaft through the camshaft or other gears.
Do not rotate the crankshaft or the camshaft while the timing chain is removed.

Valve adjustment procedures


Valve adjustment procedures

Requirements for the disassembly/assembly of the timing chain:


Dismantling of the oil pan.

NOTE: Refer to the Technical Data module for more information on torque specifications.

Remove the plug seals from the camshaft housing.


Install the camshaft locking tools [2].
The notches of the camshaft locking tools must be in a horizontal position.

NOTE: Mark the position of the recesses of the camshaft locking tools with paint before the
assembly [4].

Turn the crankshaft in the normal engine rotation direction until the locking tools click into place.

Insert the crankshaft locking pin into the hole of the clutch housing [5].
Install the tensioner locking tool before carrying out any engine repairs.
Tighten the screw of the pulley hub of the crankshaft [7]. Torque:

NOTE: The screw of the crankshaft pulley hub has a left-hand thread.
