Kultura Ko, Ipapakita Ko: A Regional Heritage Workshop

Objective:

This activity aims to promote awareness, appreciation, and understanding of the diverse cultures
in different Philippine regions. Students will conduct an interactive workshop showcasing the
rich cultural heritage of their respective regions, focusing on traditional products, folk dances,
songs, games, folklore, or customs.

Guidelines and Mechanics:

1. Group Assignment and Preparation:

 Students will be grouped according to their chosen or assigned regions.


 Each group must research and prepare an interactive cultural workshop highlighting
the unique aspects of their region.

2. Workshop Content:

Each group must focus on at least one of the following aspects:

Traditional Products (Food or Crafts):

 Demonstrate how to prepare a famous dish or delicacy from the region.


 Explain the history and significance of the product.
 Provide step-by-step instructions for the class.

Folk Dances or Songs:

 Teach a traditional dance or song from the region.


 Explain its meaning, history, and when it is performed.
 Encourage the class to participate by learning the steps or lyrics.

Traditional Games:

 Introduce a traditional game played in the region.


 Explain the rules and cultural significance.
 Facilitate a hands-on experience where the class can try the game.

Kwentong Bayan (Folk Tales) and Customs:

 Narrate or act out a well-known folk tale from the region.


 Discuss the moral lesson and its relevance today.
 Explain any unique customs, beliefs, or superstitions specific to the region.
3. Presentation Format:

 Each workshop should be interactive, engaging, and educational.


 Every group is given 15-20 minutes to conduct their workshop.
 Use of props, traditional attire, visual aids, music, or videos is encouraged.

4. Engagement and Class Participation:

 Groups must involve the entire class in their chosen activity.


 Activities must be designed to be inclusive, fun, and informative.
 A short Q&A session after each presentation is encouraged.

5. Reflection and Insights:

 At the end of all workshops, students will be given a reflective question to answer
individually.
 Reflection Questions:
o What cultural aspect from a different region did you find most interesting? Why?

6. Evaluation Criteria:

Students will be assessed based on the following:

 Content Accuracy (30%) – Well-researched and accurate information.


 Creativity and Presentation (25%) – Engaging, clear, and visually appealing delivery.
 Interactivity and Class Engagement (25%) – Effectiveness in involving classmates.
 Clarity and Organization (20%) – Logical and well-structured presentation.
