The legendary German brand, Porsche, would not be the same without all the

achieved by Ferry Porsche, the son of the founder Ferdinand

Porsche, which was made from an engineering office where he worked
father, the brand of sportswear (and others not so much) that
we know today.

The story begins when in 1948, Ferry went out to search for the
the car he had always dreamed of, he did not find it and decided
build it. Ferry presents himself as a restless man,
visionary and an impressive entrepreneur. Thus, under his leadership
the foundations were laid for what would become one of the factories
of the most exclusive automobiles in history.

The first sports car to come out of this still small company is
the Porsche 356, followed by the Porsche 911. For five decades
Ferry successfully led this German factory, under a

to any of its models, making it the main one
manufacturer of sports vehicles in the world.

But let's go back a little in time...

The story of the founder: the first

years
Ferry Porsche was born in Austria on September 19, 1909, and
since he did it, his life and destiny were marked by the
automobile; the day his father was born,Ferdinand Porscheistaba

engineer, wishing since the age of 10 to create his own
car. At Christmas of 1919, his father gave him a
small two-seater with 6 horsepower, air-cooled, with which
was circulating on public roads.

with this winner of the Targa Florio, with 45 hp of power, capable
to reach a maximum speed of 144 km/h, which soon
he decided to build his own racing machine. But this
moment when his father changed companies, he couldn't
carry out.

The founder's story: his youth

Father Ferdinand continued to involve him in his new job

youth stage. The marriage lived happily until death

The beginning of the Company

In April 1933, with a team of twelve
specialists, Porsche developed a new midsize sedan with
a five-cylinder air-cooled radial engine,
developed for use in trucks. They registered the patent of

and, since 1932, along with his father, maintaining relationships with
the company's clients.
In 1934, the Porsche Engineering Office received a commission

Still, Ferry Porsche lived his sporting ambitions in rallies,

The Volkswagen project

In 1934, Ferdinand Porsche presented his 'Study for the
"Construction of the German People's Car" as a concept of
a robust, compact, and low-cost car for the driver
"normal". Despite many complications, the small Office of
Porsche Engineering and the Automobile Industry Association
of the German Reich, signed a contract for the construction of
a Volkswagen prototype.

The most complicated aspect would be maintaining the selling price at

999 reichsmarks (German marks); it was built without brakes
hydraulic, and they took as the distance between axles the one that
four adults would be needed to enjoy a space
comfortable. Furthermore, it was as tight as it could be, so that the
could circulate on field tracks and narrow roads.

Manufactured within a period of 10 months and with limited funds, the

engineers were forced to begin constructing and assembling the
first test vehicles in the garage of the Porsche Mansion
in Stuttgart. The firstVolkswagenwith codenameV1(V

On July 3, 1935, Ferdinand Porsche presented his new
