History of Jeans

Jeans used to be known as Denim and it was

created in the south of France in 1792. Due to
its resistance, it was worn by men who used to
work outdoors.

In 1873, Denim started changing, metal buttons

and zippers were added upgrading the style.

After WWII, Jeans became famous because of

North American cowboys and rock in the 1930s.

When Elvis Presley, James Dean and Marlon

Brandon appeared on screens wearing Jeans
in the 1950s, Denim turned into a Youth and
Rebellious symbol, not only among men but
also among women. Marilyn Monroe was the
first woman to start this trend.

Jeans has turned into a worldwide fad, being

considered the most worn fabric around the
world. According to Global Lifestyle Monitor
(2008), Jeans is worn by the entire world
population at least three times a week.

2
Jeans
Círculo
The largest textile and thread
company in South America has
developed Jeans, the first 100%
cotton in the market which
resembles the most worn fabric in
the world.

Jeans in itself is already a success and

to answer market demand, it is here
offering denim versatility and comfort,
but now with the possibility of being
handmade.

Artisans will have the freedom to create a

variety of pieces including pants, shorts,
skirts, jackets, blouses and also home
decor with style and beauty.
