Organon of Medicine

Summary of the sixth edition written in the mid-19th century

The mission of the doctor:

The only and lofty mission of the doctor is to restore health to the sick.
The highest ideal of healing is to restore health quickly, smoothly and
permanent.
The doctor will have understood the way to heal judiciously and rationally and will be a good doctor if:
A. Recognize the indications of the disease
B. Meet the medications
C. Choose the indicated medication with the appropriate doses
D. Know and manage the obstacles to restoration.
4, 5: It is equally health-preserving if you know the things that disturb it and those that cause it.
the disease and knows how to separate them from healthy people. Exciting causes of acute diseases
and root causes of chronic diseases.
6: The observer can notice in each individual illness nothing more than the changes in the
health of the body and of the mind. The set of perceptible signs represents the disease.
7: The totality of the symptoms must be the means by which the disease requests and indicates the
convenient remedy.
8: After the removal of all symptoms of the disease and of the entire set of
perceptible accidents, health is at stake.
In the state of health, the vital force preserves all parts of the organism, so that the
spirit can freely employ the living and healthy organism for the highest purposes of our
existence.
10: The material organism, without the vital force, is incapable of feeling, acting, or preserving itself.
same.
When a person falls ill, it is only the vital force that suffers deviation. It is a
invisible force by itself and is only made known through morbid symptoms.
The only thing that produces diseases is the affected vital force. The morbid phenomena.
they reveal all diseases; therefore, the disappearance of all morbid phenomena implies the
comprehensive restoration of vital force, and therefore, the return to the state of health of the whole
organism.
13: Considering the disease as a thing separate from the whole living being (as they do the
Allopaths) is an absurdity that only a materialistic brain can imagine.
14: There is nothing pathological inside the body that does not manifest through signs and
symptoms.
15: The disturbance of the vital force and the entirety of the externally perceptible symptoms,
they constitute a whole.
16: Our vital force can only be attacked in an immaterial way; and in a manner
Similar to all those pathological disorders, the doctor cannot remove them in any other way.
more than by the immaterial power of useful medicines over the vital force.
17: Destroying the disease is restoring health, and this is the highest and only goal of the doctor.
18: The sum of all symptoms and conditions of each individual case of illness must be
the only indication, the sole guide that leads us to the choice of the remedy.
19: Medicines could never cure if they did not have the power to alter the state of health of the
person
This immaterial force that alters a person's state of health, which remains hidden in the
the intimate essence of medicines, we can only know it through experience.
21: As the healing principle of medicines is not perceptible by itself, we can only
relying on the morbid phenomena that occur in the healthy organism as the only revelation
possible of its intimate healing power.
22: In order for the morbid symptoms to be destroyed, remedies that excite them must be sought.
same symptoms or their opposites.
23: Experiences show us that the symptoms destroyed by the opposing symptoms of the
medications reappear after a temporary and apparent relief, with greater intensity.

Homeopathic healing:
24: There is therefore no other way to use medicines against diseases,
effectively, than the homeopathic method.
25: All medicines heal those diseases whose symptoms bear a close resemblance.
close with their own.
26, 27: A weaker dynamic condition is permanently destroyed in the living organism by
another stronger one, if the last one (although different in kind) is very similar to the first in its
manifestations.
In every homeopathic healing, the sensation of the dynamic morbid manifestation and
natural (weaker) ceases and disappears. This morbid manifestation no longer exists for the principle.
vital, which is now occupied and governed only by the most morbid artificial manifestation
strong. This, in turn, soon exhausts its strengths and leaves the patient free of the disease. The
such released dynamism can continue to guide life in a state of health.
The human body demonstrates the ability to be much more powerfully affected in the
state of health, due to the medicines rather than the natural morbid influences.
31: The enemy forces do not unconditionally possess the power to disrupt the health of the
Man; they only make us sick when our body is predisposed.
It is completely different with the artificial morbific agents that we call
medications. Every true medication works at all times, in all circumstances and in
every living human being.
The living human organism is much more predisposed and has a much higher risk of being
influenced and disturbed her health by the medicinal power rather than by the pathogenic agents.
34: In order for medications to effect a cure, it is first of all necessary that they be
capable of producing in the human body an artificial disease as similar as possible
possible to be treated.
35: To illustrate this, we will consider three different cases:
36: I.- If two dissimilar diseases coexist in a human being and are of equal intensity,
or even more so, if the oldest is the strongest, the new one will be rejected by the old one and not
will allow it to affect the organism.
37: With ordinary medical treatment, an old chronic disease remains uncured and
unalterable if treated according to the common allopathic method.
38: II.- If the new dissimilar disease is the strongest. In this case, the disease under the
Which the patient lived primitively, being the weakest, will be detained and suspended by the
appearance of the strongest, until it runs its course or is healed; then the old
reappears uncured.
39: Nature itself cannot cure any disease by means of another, no matter how strong.
Yes, if the new disease is dissimilar to the one already existing in the body.
40: The new disease, after having acted for a long time in the organism, finally unites
with the ancient one that is dissimilar, and forms with it another complex disease.
41: Inadequate medical treatment (allopathic) can produce with the use during
long periods of undesirable drugs, frequent morbid complications.
Nature itself allows for the simultaneous presence of two (or three) diseases.
dissimilar natural beings in one and the same body.
When two similar diseases coexist in the body, a
healing through nature, and we acquire the teaching of how man should heal.
Two diseases, which certainly differ in species, but are very similar in their
manifestations and effects and in the signs and symptoms they produce individually, are destroyed
the one to the other when they meet together in the organism. The stronger one destroys the weaker one.

There are many diseases that have been homeopathically cured in processes.
natural, due to other diseases that present similar symptoms.
In no case can a disease be removed by a pathogenic agent.
dissimilar. Only by one that is similar in symptoms and something stronger.
49, 50: The only therapeutic law that nature offers us: Cure with similar symptoms!
This therapeutic law is clearly manifested to every intelligent mind. But on the other hand,

to relieve the suffering.
52: There are only two main methods of healing: homeopathic and allopathic. Only the
Those who know both can hold the mistake of practicing once homeopathically and another time.
allopathically, according to the patient's taste; a practice that should be called betrayal
criminal against divine homeopathy.
53: The art of pure homeopathic healing is the only exact method, the shortest way to heal.

The allopathic method:

54: The allopathic method uses many things against diseases, but commonly only the
improper. Many systems named their supposed disease categories,
classifying each of them differently, and powers were attributed to medicines
assumptions to cure these abnormal conditions. Hence the numerous texts on Materia
Doctor.
These allopathic doctors would have been abandoned if it weren't for the palliative relief obtained.
whose favorable action is almost instantaneous and apparent.
Through this palliative (antipathetic) method introduced according to the teachings of
Galeno "Contraria contrariis", for seventeen centuries, doctors until now, had hoped to gain
credit while they promised almost instant improvements; but we will see how useless and harmful it is
this treatment method.
57: In order to put this unkind method into practice, the common doctor gives, for a single
a bothersome symptom among many others of the illness that is not given importance, a
a medication that is known to produce symptoms exactly opposite to the morbid ones intended.
to dominate, from which one can expect the quickest relief (palliative).
A specific case of chronic or persistent condition in which such medications have been used.
unpleasant, after the temporary improvement, does a progression in the aggravation not occur?
symptoms that were initially managed in a palliative way, a worsening, really
of all the disease?
59: They have never been treated with such palliative, antagonistic remedies, the important symptoms of
a continuous illness, without the opposing state, a relapse, an evident worsening of the
illness, presents itself a few hours later.
60: If these negative effects occur, as is very natural to expect from the use of the
unpleasant medications, the common doctor imagines that he will overcome the difficulty, in each
aggravation that appears, giving a stronger dose of the remedy, whereby a
suppression is likewise temporary, but never the cure.
If the doctors had been able to reflect on the sad results of the application
From the antipathic remedies, this great truth would have been discovered a long time ago: that
to obtain a treatment method that produces real and true healing, it is necessary
to follow a system opposite to the one they have followed so far.
62: The causes that depend on the harmful results of palliative (antipathic) treatment and
the effectiveness of the opposite, of homeopathic treatment, is explained by the following facts:
63: Every medication disorganizes, more or less, the vital force. This constitutes the action.
primary. To this action, our vital force tries to oppose its own energy which constitutes the
secondary action or reaction.
During the primary action of the medications, the vital force seems to be conducted
simply in a passive (receptive) way. Then, it seems as if I awaken again to
to develop
A): The exactly opposite health condition (reaction) or
B): Tries to neutralize itself (secondary, healing action)
Example of reaction type (A): A hand submerged in hot water at first is much
hotter than the other that has not been treated this way (primary action); but when it is
take it out of hot water and it becomes completely dry again, it cools down in a short time, and more
much colder afternoon than the other (secondary action).
There is no noticeable antagonistic secondary action of very small doses.
homeopathic, of the disturbing agents on the healthy body.
These truths explain the beneficial action that takes place with homeopathic treatment.
and the falsehood of the palliative antipathy treatment.
In homeopathic healings, experience shows us that by infinitely small doses
small ones that are used, certainly remains after the destruction of the natural disease,
certain medicinal disease solely in the organism, but due to the extraordinary minimal
the amount of the doses is temporary and disappears quickly by itself.
In the sympathetic treatment (palliative), exactly the opposite happens. It worsens.
after the action of the palliative ceases; aggravation directly proportional to the magnitude of the
dose.

The curative treatment:

70: Consequences of what has been stated so far:
Everything of a truly morbid nature that the doctor can discover in the
diseases and that must be cured, it only consists of the sufferings of the sick and in the
health alterations perceptible to the senses, in one word, to the totality of the symptoms,
through which the disease indicates the essential remedy for its relief.
2. That the disease can only be converted to the physiological state, by another revolution.
produced in that state by means of medications, whose unique healing power,
consequently, it only consists of the alteration of man's health, that is, in a production
peculiar symptoms of morbid conditions that are known more clearly and purely by experiencing them in
the healthy body.
3. That a natural disease can never be cured with medications that have the
power to produce in the healthy individual a strange morbid state different from that of the disease
what needs to be cured.
4. That through medications that have a tendency to produce in the healthy individual
an artificial morbid symptom, antagonistic to a symptom of the disease that is being treated.
Cure will never be achieved in a long-lasting illness but only relief.
passenger, always followed by its aggravation.
5. That the only possible treatment, the homeopathic one, which is used for the entirety of the
symptoms of a natural disease a medication capable of producing the symptoms more
similar possibles in the healthy individual, administered in appropriate doses, is the only method
effective through which the diseases, which constitute only dynamic disorders of the
vital force, are dominated and in this way, perfectly and permanently extinguished, having to
necessarily cease to exist.
71: The curative treatment is included in the following three points:
How does the doctor discover what is necessary to know to cure diseases?
2. How does one acquire knowledge of the appropriate instruments for healing?
natural diseases, the pathogenic power of medications?
3. What is the most convenient method to employ these artificial pathogenic agents?
(medications), for the healing of natural diseases?

Types of diseases:
72: The diseases to which man is subject can be:
Fast and morbid processes of the vital force. Acute diseases.
2. Diseases with an imperceptible onset gradually diverting the organism from
his health status. Chronic diseases.
73: The sharp ones can be:
1. That affect the human body individually, being the exciting cause influences.
harmful to which one has been particularly exposed.
2. That attack several people at the same time, through atmospheric influences or
telluric or harmful agents.
In both cases, the duration is medium, ending with death or with the
restoration of the person.
74: Among chronic diseases, we must consider those artificially produced by
the allopathic treatment. In them, the vital force is weakened and sometimes, if it does not succumb,
gradually veers off.
75: These health disorders caused by allopathy are the most deplorable of all
chronic diseases, the most incurable ones.
76: The benevolent Divinity granted us, in Homeopathy, the means to provide relief.
only in natural diseases; but the devastations and internal mutilations and
external factors of the human body carried out over many years by the inhumane exercise of a
false art with its drugs and harmful treatments can only be remedied by vital force,
helping her conveniently.
Chronical diseases are improperly referred to as those suffered by people who are
continuously expose themselves to avoidable harmful influences.
The true natural chronic diseases are those that originate from a miasma.
chronic.
So far, only syphilis has been known as a miasmatic disease. Also, psychosis.
it must be recognized as such.
The chronic psoric miasm is incomparably greater and more important.
A wide variety of chronic diseases are secondary symptoms of psoriasis.

Consultation process:
To establish the indication in each case of chronic illness (psoriasis), it is essential to
homeopathic doctor the duty of a careful understanding of their symptoms, for he cannot
a real healing of this without a strictly personal treatment (individualization) must be verified.
83: The individualized examination of a disease case requires the physician only the absence of
prejudice and perfect senses.
The patient details the history of his suffering; those around him explain what has happened.
complaining, how he has behaved and what they have noticed in him; the doctor sees, hears, and observes what there is of

extraordinary altered. It transcribes it accurately. It allows them to say everything they have to
refer and it is contained from interrupting them.
Start a new line with each new circumstance mentioned by the patient or their friends.
86: When the narrators have finished their spontaneous account, the doctor then reviews
each individual symptom and extract more precise information from it in the following way: read one
For one of the symptoms they reported to you, find out more details about each of them.
And thus the doctor obtains more precise information regarding each particular detail,
but without ever asking their questions in a way that suggests the answer to the patient.
88: If nothing has been mentioned regarding these voluntarily provided details
various parts or functions of the body or of their mental state, the doctor will ask what else can be
to say about these parts or functions, or about the state of mind or of their mind.
89: When the patient, through these details, provided the required information and outlined
a tolerantly perfect depiction of the disease, the doctor is free and obligated to do
more specific, more special questions.
90: When the doctor has finished writing these details, he then notes what he himself
has observed in the patient.
91: The symptoms and sensations of the patient during the time it takes to take a medication, do not
they provide the pure image of the disease; but, on the other hand, the symptoms and discomforts that
suffers before the use of the medications or after they have been discontinued for several days,
they give the truly fundamental idea of the original form of the disease.
If it were an acute disease and its serious nature did not allow for delay, the doctor must
to be content with observing the morbid condition, although altered by medication.
93: If the disease has occurred for some evident cause, then the patient or their
friends interviewed confidentially, they will mention it spontaneously or under careful
interrogation.
94: While investigating the state of a chronic illness, the...
special circumstances of the patient regarding their ordinary occupations to find out what
there are in them that can produce or sustain the disease.
95: Research on chronic diseases must be carried out as carefully as
it is possible and the most meticulous peculiarities must be addressed.
Patients differ in their way of being, some paint their symptoms with colors that are too
alive.
97: Others describe them in vague terms.
98: The investigation of the complete picture requires special tact and knowledge of nature
human.
99: The investigation of acute diseases is much easier for the doctor.
100: When investigating the totality of symptoms of epidemic and sporadic diseases, not
It doesn't matter whether something similar has appeared in the world before or not.
with the same name or with another. The doctor must consider the pure image of each disease
reigning as if it were something new or unknown and investigating it completely within itself.
101: It can easily happen that with the first case of an epidemic disease that presents itself to
the doctor does not obtain the knowledge of his complete image.
102, 103: By writing down the symptoms of several cases of this kind, the design of the table
The understanding of the disease is becoming more and more complete.

104: When the totality of the symptoms that especially characterize and distinguish the case
pathological are defined, the hardest part of the job is done.

How to know the remedies:

The second point, in the professional practice of the true doctor, refers to the acquisition
of the knowledge of the instruments intended for the healing of natural diseases.
106: All the pathogenic effects of the various medications must be known.
107: Yes, in order to find this out, medications are given only to sick people,
Nothing needed will be seen of its true effects.
108: There is no other possible way to find out the peculiar effects of the medications than
administer them in moderate doses to healthy individuals.
I was the first to discover that only with the use of homeopathic medications is
the healing of human species diseases is possible.
110, 111: I saw that the injuries that previous authors have observed as a result of the
introduction of medicinal substances into the stomachs of healthy people, they were very much in agreement
with my own observations, but none of these observers ever dreamed that:
The symptoms recorded solely as evidence of the harmful and poisonous nature of these
substances, clear revelation of their power to curatively extinguish similar symptoms
that are present in natural diseases,
2. These, their pathogenic phenomena, were signs of their homeopathic healing action.
3. The only possible way to find out its medicinal power is by observing the changes that the
medications produce in the healthy body.
112: From the effects of the medications that appear in the oldest prescriptions,
we noticed certain states produced, not at the beginning, but at the end, that were of nature
exactly opposite to those that appeared first (secondary action).
113: Narcotic medications are the only ones that are exempt from this. As they nullify, in their
primary action sensitivity and sensation, and sometimes irritability, occurs
frequently in its secondary action, even with moderate doses experienced in bodies
healthy, there is an increase in sensitivity (and greater irritability).
114: With the exception of these narcotic substances, in experiments on healthy bodies with doses
moderate medications, we only observe their primary action.
115: Among these symptoms, it occurs in some medications, which are directly opposite to
other symptoms that have appeared before or after, but should not be considered
as the secondary action (or the pure reaction of the vital force), but only represent the
alternating state of several paroxysms of primary action and are called alternating actions.
116:
Some symptoms are produced by the medications in many healthy individuals.
Others in few people
Some only in very few
The last category includes the so-called idiosyncrasies, peculiar physical constitutions.
They have the predisposition to present a more or less morbid state due to certain things that
seem to make no impression or change on many other individuals. This inability to

Each medication has a peculiar action on the human constitution, which others do not.
medications of different classes do not produce effects in exactly the same way.
119: The medications differ from each other in their pathogenic effects.
120: Medications must be thoroughly distinguished from one another.
121: When examining medications to determine their effects on a healthy body, we must
keep in mind that strong substances, called heroic, are capable, even in small
doses, to produce changes in the health even of robust individuals. The softer ones
They must be given, in these experiments, in a more considerable amount.

perfectly known.
123: Each of these medications must be taken in a perfectly simple and pure manner.
124: For those experiments, each medicinal substance must be used completely alone and
perfectly pure.
125: Throughout the entire duration of the experiment, the diet must be strictly regulated.
126: The person experiencing the medication must be extremely reliable and conscientious.
127: Medications must be tested on both men and women.
The best way to investigate medicinal power is on an empty stomach, from four to six.

more daily until they become clearer and stronger, and the alteration of health becomes more noticeable.
If the dose administered very early on has been sufficiently strong, the advantage is obtained.
that the experimenter learns the order of succession of the symptoms.
131: If in order to find out something the same medication is given to the same person to test
In several successive days and in always increasing doses, we will learn about the various morbid states.
What this medication is generally capable of producing, but we will not uncover its order.
of succession.
132: But when the object is only to find out, without referring to the successive order of phenomena and to
the duration of the drug, the symptoms themselves, the preferred path to follow is to give them through
several consecutive days increasing the dose each day.
133: When experiencing any particular sensation caused by the medication, it is helpful.
take several positions while it lasts and observe.
134: Medications have the property of producing specific changes unique to
its nature in the health of the organism; but not all the peculiar symptoms of a medication
they manifest in a single person, neither all at once, nor in the same experience.
It can only be obtained the totality of the morbid elements that it is capable of producing.

different constitutions.
136: When the medication is given to a patient suffering from ailments similar to those he
It causes, produces all its effects even those that it once causes in healthy individuals.
Produces in the patient, if he has been chosen homeopathically, an artificial state similar to the
natural disease, which quickly and permanently (homeopathically) frees and cures you of your
primitive disease.
The more moderate the dose of the medication used within certain limits,
experimentation, the primary effects develop more clearly, and only these, which are
the most deserving to know, are presented without any mixture of side effects or reactions of
the vital force. When excessively large doses are used, it occurs at the same time not only
certain number of side effects among the symptoms, but the primary effects come with
such precipitated confusion and with such impetuosity that nothing can be observed with accuracy.
138: All the sufferings, accidents, and health changes of the experimenter during the
The action of a medication is derived solely from this medication.
139: When the doctor does not experience the medication in himself but in another person, this
you must clearly note the sensations, sufferings, accidents, and changes in health that
experience at the moment of its presentation.
140: If the person cannot write, they will inform the doctor every day about what has happened to them, and
how it took place. However, what should be noted as authentic information at this point
It must mainly be the voluntary narration of the person conducting the experiment.
The best experiments are those that the healed doctor conducts on himself.
Distinguish the symptoms of the simple medication used for therapeutic purposes, among the
the primitive illness is a matter that should be left exclusively to the masters of the art
to observe.
143: If in this way we have tested a considerable number on healthy individuals
simple medications and we have carefully and faithfully recorded all the symptoms and elements
morbid ones who are capable of developing as artificial producers of diseases, only
Then we will have a true medical materia.
144: Everything that is conjecture, simple, must be rigorously excluded from this medical matter.
assertion or imaginary.
145: Indeed, only with a very considerable amount of known medications with
accuracy regarding its pure way of acting altering human health, we could be in
conditions for discovering a homeopathic remedy, an appropriate and artificial morbific analogue
(dressing) for each of the morbid states that exist in infinite number, for all the
diseases.

How to find the right remedy:

The third point refers to the judicious use of medications in order to effectuate healing.
homeopathic treatment of natural diseases.
Any of these medications in which we find the greatest similarity among their
observed symptoms, with the entirety of the symptoms of the given natural disease, should be the
the most appropriate homeopathic remedy for the disease. It is the specific remedy.
The natural disease should be considered as a kind of infection that disturbs the
vital principle. If the influence of this hostile agent is eliminated, as happens when the doctor
administers an artificial power capable of altering the vital principle in the most similar way
possible, that exceeds in energy even given in very small doses, to the analogous natural disease,
then the influence of the artificial harmful agent on the vital principle is nullified during the
action of this similar and stronger artificial disease. From then on, the harmful ceases to
to exist for the vital principle is destroyed.
Long-lasting diseases need a proportionally longer time to
his recovery.
If the patient complains of one or more mild symptoms that have only been observed for a short time
First, the doctor will not consider them as a fully developed disease.
151: But if the patient experiences some violent suffering, the doctor will also find,
many other symptoms that, although of a lighter nature, will provide a complete picture of the
disease.
The more severe the acute illness, the easier it is to find a remedy.
that suits him.
153: In this search for a homeopathic remedy, we must consider primarily
only the signs and symptoms of the pathological case, more notable, singular, extraordinary and
peculiar; because these primarily must correspond with those that are very similar
in the list of the chosen medication.
154: If the prototype formed with the list of symptoms of the most appropriate medication has the
characteristic symptoms that are found in large numbers and with great similarity in the
disease that is being treated, this medication is the most specific homeopathic remedy.
appropriate for this morbid state; if the illness is not of very long duration, it will be
generally removed and extinguished, without much discomfort, by the first dose of the medication.
I say without great discomfort, because in the use of the homeopathic remedy more
appropriate, they are only called to act the symptoms of the medication that correspond to the
symptoms of the disease. The other symptoms of the homeopathic medicine are not referred to
act in absolute terms. Only homeopathic symptoms can act on the parts of the organism that
they are already more irritated and excited about the similar symptoms of the disease.
156: Nevertheless, there is almost no homeopathic medicine, no matter how well chosen it may have been, that
do not produce in very irritable and sensitive patients, at least a trivial and extraordinary discomfort.
But these are easily extinguished by the potential activity (energies) of the living organism.
157: However, it often produces a kind of slight exacerbation immediately.
after taking the remedy, which has so much resemblance to the original disease that the
the patient figures that it is an aggravation of their own illness. But in reality, it is nothing more than
a medicinal illness, extremely similar, exceeding something in power to the natural condition.
158: The slight homeopathic aggravation that occurs during the first hours (very good
forecast indicating that the acute illness will likely subside with this first dose,
completely as it should be, for medicinal illness must naturally be something
stronger than the disease that needs to be cured.
The smaller the dose of the homeopathic remedy in the treatment of the
acute diseases, the lighter and shorter the apparent increase of the disease is
during the first hours.
The dosage of a homeopathic remedy cannot be made smaller than the proper measure
necessary to heal. It is always calculated to be a little bigger, so it is understood why a
appropriate homeopathic medication dose, always produce, during the first hour of your
ingestion, a visible homeopathic aggravation of this kind.
161: The increase of the primitive symptoms of chronic disease can only occur at
end of treatment when the healing is almost or completely finished.
It sometimes happens that, due to the still small number of known medications regarding
his true and pure action, only a part of the symptoms of the disease can be found that
tries to cure, in the list of symptoms of the most appropriate medication, consequently, this
imperfect medicinal morbific agent, must be used due to the lack of a more perfect one.
163: In this case, a complete cure free of
inconveniences.
164: The short number of homeopathic symptoms existing in the best chosen medication is not
obstacle to healing in cases where these few medicinal symptoms are mainly
extraordinary and especially different from the disease.
If among the symptoms of the chosen remedy there is none that exactly resembles the
distinctive symptoms of the pathological case, and whether the remedy corresponds only to the disease in its
general state, in that case, the doctor cannot expect any immediate favorable result from the
use of this non-homeopathic medication.
That case is very rare, due to the increase in the number of medications.
If the use of the imperfectly homeopathic remedy, which is used at the beginning, entails
male accessories of some gravity, are not expected in acute illnesses, to which the first
the dose has fully completed its action; before this happens, the condition is re-examined
modified from the patient, and what remains of the primitive symptoms is joined to the symptoms
recently emerged, to form a new image of the disease.
Then one will be able to discover more quickly among the medications.
known, an analogue to the morbid state that is in sight.
If when examining a disease for the first time and choosing the medication for the first time,
we found that the totality of the symptoms of the disease are not effectively covered,

In chronic psoriatic diseases, it is often necessary to provide various remedies.
antipsoriatics successively, each of them being chosen homeopathically, according to the
number of symptoms that remain after the previous remedy has finished its action.
A similar difficulty arises in the healing process when the symptoms of the
the disease is too few.
173: The only diseases that seem to have few symptoms and that for this reason are
more difficult to heal are those that can be called partial, because they only reveal one or two
main symptoms that overshadow almost all others. They mainly belong to the class of
chronic diseases.
174: Its main symptoms can either be an internal ailment or a condition of a character.
rather external. Diseases of this last class are generally distinguished by the
name of local diseases.
In partial diseases of the first class, it must be attributed to a lack of discernment.
from medical observation, the fact that the symptoms cannot be fully discovered
existing.
There are a small number of diseases that, upon the most careful initial examination, do not present
more than one or two acute and violent symptoms, while all the others are perceived
vaguely.
In order to handle a case like this with the greatest possible success, which occurs very rarely, one must...
You must first choose, guided by these few symptoms, the medication that in our opinion
is more homeopathically indicated.
178: Sometimes it will happen that this chosen medication strictly observing the law
homeopathic, provide a similar and appropriate artificial disease for the destruction of
the current illness.
179: However, it more often happens that the medication chosen for the first time in
such a case may only be partially appropriate.
In this case, the selected medication will produce supplementary and various symptoms.
phenomena belonging to the same group of their symptoms that are mixed with the state of
patient's health, but which are nonetheless symptoms of the disease, although
until now, it would have never or very rarely been noticed; and some symptoms appear that the patient
I had never felt before, or others that I had only vaguely experienced become
pronounced.
181: It will be objected that the new symptoms of the disease that is now presenting must
to be attributed to the medication that has just been used. Truly, they owe their origin to it, but
they are symptoms of such nature that only this disease is capable of producing in this organism,
they will be governed henceforth and required to appear due to the administered medication.
In this way, the imperfect choice of medication serves to complete the manifestation.
of the symptoms of the disease, and in this way facilitate the discovery of a second
most appropriate homeopathic medicine.
183: Whenever, for this reason, the dose of the first medication stops having a beneficial effect,
a new examination of the disease must be done, and the current status must be noted and a choice made.
second homeopathic remedy according to him.
184: Likewise, after each new dose of medication has been exhausted
action, the state of the disease must be noted again and another homeopathic remedy should be sought. And
so on until full recovery.
185: Among the partial diseases, local diseases hold a prominent place, with
whose term refers to the changes and ailments that appear on the external part of the body.
Until now, the dominant idea in schools was that only these parts were affected.
morbidly and that the rest of the body does not participate in the disease, an absurd doctrinal theory
which has led to the most disastrous medical treatment.
186: The so-called local diseases that have been produced recently, only by a
external injury, appear, at first glance, to deserve the name of local diseases. But
Then the injury must be very trivial and of little importance. Because in the case of injuries caused by
external, if they are serious, the whole organism is affected. The treatment of these diseases is of
resort of surgery; but this is only justified in cases where the affected parts
they require mechanical help for the removal of external obstacles. But when in these
injuries the entire living organism requires, as always happens, active dynamic help that it
put in condition to verify the curative work, then the services of the vitalist doctor or
dynamic and its healthy homeopathy come into play.
But the affections, alterations, and external sufferings that do not come from any injury.
external, its origin lies in some internal disease. To consider them as merely a local condition,
as the old school has done since the most remote ages, it is as absurd as it is harmful
in their results.
188: These diseases were considered to be solely confined to an external part of the
body, as if the rest of the living organism knew nothing.
An external evil cannot be born, persist, or even worsen without an internal cause.
190: Any true medical treatment of a sudden illness in the external parts
of the body, must aim at the extinction and healing of the general disease that the
whole organism.
191: This is confirmed in the clearest way by the experience that shows in all the
cases, that every energetic internal medication produces immediately after its ingestion,
important changes in the patient's overall health and especially in the external parts
affected (which the vulgar medical school sees as absolutely localized).
192: The best way to achieve this objective is to consider, when examining the case of
disease, not only the exact nature of the local condition but also all the
alterations, changes and symptoms observed in the patient's condition, in order to proceed to the
investigation of a suitable homeopathic remedy.
193: Through this medication, used only internally, the morbid state
the organism's general condition is destroyed, along with the local condition.
194: In the acute local conditions that have developed rapidly, and in which there are
for a long time, it is not advisable to penetrate the pores by rubbing, or to apply on the part
sick, no topic even if it is the same substance taken internally would be
homeopathic or specific; since the acute local conditions that have been caused by causes
dynamics yield more securely to internal remedies. If with these remedies not
they would completely disappear, it will be because the local condition is the result of psoriasis, until then
dormant inside the organism, which is in a position to manifest itself in the form
of a chronic illness.
195: In order to carry out a radical cure in these cases, after it has been calmed down
acute condition, an appropriate antipsoriatic treatment should be directed against the symptoms that still
persistent and against the morbid health condition to which the patient was previously subjected.
196: One might think that the cure for these diseases would be carried out in a more
the remedy that has been recognized as homeopathic, should be used not only internally
but also abroad.
197, 198, 199, 200: This treatment is completely unacceptable, because the application
simultaneous use of a medication both internally and externally, in diseases that have for
the main symptom is a constant local condition, has the serious drawback that the symptom
the local condition usually disappears sooner than the internal disease, which
it can mistakenly make one believe that the healing is complete.
201: The vital force overwhelmed by a chronic illness develops a local condition in some
external part, in order to silence the internal disease.
202: If the old school doctor destroys the local symptom, Nature increases the
internal disease.
203: Any external treatment of local symptoms aimed at removing them from the surface of the
body, while the internal miasmatic disease is left without healing, it is one of the
more criminal procedures for which the medical world is guilty, and yet, it has been until
Today, the only one generally adopted and taught in professional faculties.
204: Excepting the chronic ailments that depend on the unhealthiness of the way of life
habitual, and also the countless medication-related diseases, the majority of the
diseases that remain result from the development of these three chronic miasmas: internal syphilis,
internal psychosis and internal psoriasis. Each of these three infections was already in possession of everything
the organism before the local symptom appeared. If they are deprived of their local symptom, they are
inevitably destined by Nature to develop and explode. This would not happen if the
doctors would have sought, in a rational way, to cure these three miasmas without employing
local remedies for your external symptoms, relying solely on homeopathic remedies
appropriate interns for each of them.
205: The homeopathic doctor never treats the primitive symptoms of chronic miasms, nor the
secondary males that result from their development with local remedies. When one or the other
appear, the homeopath is limited solely to curing the miasma that constitutes its basis, and from this
In this way, the primitive and secondary symptoms disappear spontaneously.
206: Before starting the treatment of a chronic disease, it is necessary to make a
very careful investigation to determine if the patient has had any syphilitic infection. When
the doctor believes he is facing a case of an old venereal disease, he always has or almost always
to treat a syphilitic condition accompanied by psoriasis, as this is to a high degree the cause
most common fundamental of chronic diseases.
207: When the previous data has been obtained, the homeopathic doctor still has to
find out what kind of allopathic treatment was adopted, what kind of disturbing medications
they were used, and if possible, to correct these pernicious artificial alterations.
208: After that, the patient's age, their lifestyle, their character, and
way of thinking.
Afterwards, the doctor will try to outline the situation in frequent conversations with the patient.

210: Almost all the diseases that I have previously referred to as partial are related to psora, and that
they seem more difficult to cure due to this same character, which consists of all their

so-called mental illnesses. In physical illnesses, there is always a modification of the
mental state, and in all cases where we are called to heal, it must be noted especially the
the character of the patient along with the totality of the symptoms.

possible in the pathological case.
Almost all mental and emotional illnesses are nothing more than illnesses
bodily symptoms that are enhancing the disturbance of the mind and character.
216: The affections of the material organs of the body are transported and conducted to the
almost spiritual, mental, and emotional organs.
In these illnesses, we must be very careful to recognize in the whole of the
phenomena, those that pertain to bodily symptoms and those that refer to moral state and
mental peculiar and always dominant, in order to discover a remedy whose list of symptoms displays,
with the greatest possible similarity, not only the morbid physical symptoms but also, and in a way
especially, the mental and emotional state.
218: This set of symptoms includes, first of all, the exact description of all the
phenomena of the so-called anterior body disease, before it degenerated, due to the
preponderance of psychic symptoms, in a partial way, and it became a mental illness and
moral. This can be known from the account of the patient's friends.
219: Comparing these preceding symptoms of the bodily illness with the traces that it
they still exist today, one can be fully convinced that, although
undercover, have never ceased to exist.
220: Adding to this the mental and moral state faithfully observed by the friends of the sick person and
from the doctor himself, we will thus have a complete picture of the disease.
221: If madness has presented itself suddenly as an acute illness, although almost
it is always due to internal psora, like a flame that emerges from it, however, when it occurs
In this acute manner, it should not be treated, of course, with antipsoric remedies, but rather in the first
place with those indicated for the case but in highly potent doses, in order to control it to such
degree that psoriasis returns to its previous latent state.
222: But the patient who has recovered from a mental illness, with the use of these
antipsoriatic medications should never be considered as a cure; on the contrary, it should not
wasting time, and trying to completely relieve him through an antipsoriatic treatment
prolonged from chronic psoric miasm.
223: But if the antipsoriatic treatment is omitted, we should almost certainly expect the appearance
quickly, for a cause much lighter than that which caused the first attack of madness,
new access of longer and more serious duration.
224: If the mental illness is not fully developed and if it is still doubtful that
it really depends on a physical condition or not, we will decide that they do not depend on one
body illness if we observe that it improves with: Reasonable and friendly exhortations,
comforting arguments, serious warnings, and sensible advice. On the other hand, if we observe that
it worsens, we will decide that it does depend on a physical illness.
225: However, as has just been said, there are emotional illnesses that have not been
developed at the expense of bodily diseases, but it has occurred in an inverse manner.
This type of emotional illnesses gradually destroy the health of the body.
226: Only the emotional diseases that have been generated by the mind itself,
they are the ones that can be quickly changed through psychic remedies, such as a
demonstration of trust, sensible advice, .....
But the fundamental cause in these cases is also the psoric miasm.
In mental and moral illnesses that result from a physical illness that only
it can be cured with antipsoric homeopathic medications, it must be observed scrupulously,
through an auxiliary mental regime, an appropriate psychic process concerning the
patient and the doctor:
From furious mania > Intrepid and cold calm, firm resolution.
To the mournful, lamenting cries > A silent demonstration of compassion
with the appearance and gestures.
Insensate loquacity > Silence not devoid of attention.
To the repugnant and abominable conduct and to the conversation of the same character > None
Attention.
We must only try to prevent the destruction and damage of the objects that surround the
patient, never reproaching him for his actions, arranging everything in such a way that it avoids the
the need for punishments or corporal torture. This is easier to avoid, for example by administering
small doses of appropriate medicinal substance in the patient's drink without them knowing.
On the other hand, the contradiction, the vehement explanations, abrupt corrections and
Warnings, as well as weak and timid condescension, should not be used with these patients.
They constitute an equally harmful way of treating mental and emotional illnesses.
But above all, these patients become exasperated and their sufferings are exacerbated by the outrage, fraud.
and deceptions that are discovered. The doctor and the guardian must always try to make them believe
that they are right.
If the chosen anti-psoric remedy is perfectly homeopathic, the improvement occurs in a
not a very long time. In truth, I can affirm after a long experience that the
superiority of homeopathy over all other imaginable healing methods, in none
part is presented with as much brilliance as in the ancient mental illnesses that owe their
origin to bodily ailments, or that have developed alongside them.
Intermittent diseases deserve special consideration. They can be of two
types:
They are presented in fixed periods.
They alternate in indefinite periods with others of a different kind.
Alternating diseases belong to the class of chronic diseases.
They are generally a manifestation of the development of psoriasis.
233: Typical intermittent diseases are those in which a morbid state of a character
invariable reappears in a fixed period, while the patient is apparently in good health, and
disappears in a fixed time as well.
234: The morbid states that appear to be apyretic, typical, that periodically occur in
a single person in fixed time, always belongs to chronic diseases. In their majority
parts are purely psoric.
235: Regarding the intermittent fevers that prevail sporadically or epidemically, often
we found that each paroxysm is composed of two alternating and opposite states (heat and
cold, cold and heat), more often three (cold, heat and sweat). Consequently, the remedy
chosen to combat them must be able to produce in the healthy body two or three states
alternating similarities.
The most appropriate and effective time to administer the medication in these cases is
immediately or very shortly after the end of the paroxysm, as soon as the patient
if it had recovered from its effects. If the medication is given just before the paroxysm,
coincides with the natural reappearance of the disease and causes such a reaction in the body, and so
violent effort, that an attack of that nature produces at least a great loss of
vigor, as long as it does not endanger life.
When the apyretic period is very short, the dose of the homeopathic medicine must
to be administered when the sweat or other phenomena resulting from the paroxysm that ends,
they start to decrease.
No few times a single dose of the appropriate medication has destroyed several attacks and
health restored, but in most cases, another dose should be administered after
every attack.
239: You can find the remedy for in the extensive list of homeopathic medicines.
numerous varieties of intermittent fevers.
240: If the remedy that is specifically homeopathic for a prevailing epidemic of
intermittent fever does not effect a perfect cure in one patient or another, and as long as it is not
the influence of a marshy place that prevents healing will always be the psoric miasm
latent and hidden the cause, in which case antipsoric medications should be used until
obtain complete relief.
241: The epidemic intermittent fevers in places where they are not endemic are of the same
nature that chronic diseases consist of an isolated acute paroxysm.
But if in an epidemic of intermittent fever it has not been cured in the first paroxysms,
then the inherent psoriasis that exists latently in so many people develops and takes on the character
of intermittent fever, this will generally subside with a small dose of Sulphur or Hepar.
Sulphur

the point of development that hinders it, and in this case only antipsychotic medications can
perform the radical healing.
245: Regarding the remedies and how to use them, along with the regimen that must be
to be observed during its use:
246: In cases of acute illnesses, any noticeably progressive improvement is a
condition that does not prevent at all during the entire time it lasts, the repetition of any
medication.
On the other hand, in more chronic diseases, a single dose of the homeopathic remedy
it will carry out all its action, albeit in a slow and progressive manner. Reduce the period of
healing can be done under the following conditions:
If the chosen medication is perfectly homeopathic.
If the medication has been administered in high potency, dissolved in water, in small
doses and at defined intervals so that healing occurs more quickly, but with the caution of
that the degree of dynamization of each dose differs somewhat from the one preceding it and the one following it.
247: It is not reasonable to repeat the same unmodified dose of a given remedy. The vital principle.
does not accept these unmodified doses without resistance. The patient may fall ill from another
way when receiving another unmodified dose. But if the next dose is modified each time,
then the vital principle can be influenced without any difficulty by itself
medication.
248: To this end, we strengthen the medicinal solution again, of which we give the patient one or
several teaspoons, in long-term illnesses daily or every two days. In the
sharp every two or six hours.
249: Any medication prescribed for a given case produces in the course of its action,
new and disturbing symptoms that do not belong to the treated disease, is unable
to achieve an effective improvement and cannot be considered homeopathically chosen; it must
also, in the case that the aggravation is considerable, partially neutralize such first
as soon as possible with an antidote, before giving the next chosen medication with more
care according to the similarity of action.
250: When it is evident to the doctor that after only six, eight or twelve hours of having done
a poor choice in the medication administered lately, it is your duty to correct your mistake with
the choice of the homeopathic remedy.
There are some medications whose ability to modify the state of man consists
mainly in alternating effects. If after prescribing one of these substances, not

first and could be administered after a few hours in case of acute illness.
252: If found, during the use of other medications for chronic diseases,
that the best-chosen homeopathic remedy does not produce improvement, this is a sure sign that the
the cause that sustains the disease still persists, and that there is some circumstance in the way of
live of the patient that must be modified.
253: The signs that announce a slight beginning of improvement or worsening more reliably,
they reveal the patient's mental state and their way of behaving.
The appearance of new symptoms or the decrease of the original ones will be an indication of the
worsening or improvement.
255: If no new symptoms arise and the old ones have not worsened, if it has been observed

aggravated.
The true doctor will be very careful not to turn into favorite remedies,
medications that he has often found useful.
258: Moreover, it will not disregard in its practice the use of those remedies that occasionally
has employed with poor results.
259, 260: During homeopathic treatment, should be suppressed from the diet and lifestyle
of the patient everything that has any medicinal action.
261: The most appropriate regimen during medication administration in diseases
chronicles involve the removal of all obstacles for the restoration of health, and
putting the patient, if necessary, in opposite conditions.
In acute diseases, the doctor only has to advise the friends and
assistants who do not put obstacles to the voice of nature by refusing the patient something that they desire
urgently regarding the food.
The true doctor must be equipped with pure medications of unaltered strength.

How to prepare the remedies:

265: It is a matter of conscience for him, to be completely convinced that in each case the
the patient takes the appropriate medication, and therefore should be given the medication
correctly chosen and prepared, also, by himself.
266: The medicinal qualities of substances that belong to the animal and plant kingdoms,
are more notable in raw state.

How to calculate the doses:

272: A globule, placed dry on the tongue, is one of the smallest doses for a case of
recent and moderate illness. The medication here will only touch a few nerves. But if it

more than one medication alone and simple simultaneously.
It is a mistake to use composite means when simple ones suffice.
The suitability of a medication for a specific pathological case does not depend solely on its
exact homeopathic selection, but also of the appropriate amount, or rather, of the smallness
of the dose.
276: For this reason, a medication, even when it is homeopathically appropriate to the case
pathological, it causes harm with each dose administered if it is too large, and if given in
strong doses will do much more damage the greater their homeopathic nature and potency.
A remedy given in rather weak doses proves to be all the more wonderfully effective.
the more homeopathic their choice has been, a medicine whose own symptoms are
perfectly in harmony with those of the disease, it should be much healthier the more it

It is now a matter of knowing to what extent the dose of the homeopathic remedy should be decreased.
In a given case of illness to obtain better healing.
279: The dosage of the homeopathic remedy in high potency, to start the treatment of a
important illness, especially chronic, should never be so small that it becomes lesser
stronger than the natural disease.
280: The dosage of a medication that has proven to be useful without producing new symptoms
annoying, it should continue to be applied gradually increasing it until the moment when the
patient, generally relieved, begins to moderately feel the return of one or several of
the ancient original sufferings. This indicates that the vital principle no longer needs to be affected.
more time due to the medicinal illness. It also indicates that the vital principle, now free from the
natural disease, begins to suffer from some medicinal illness that is known until
now as homeopathic aggravation.
281: In order to convince oneself of this, the patient is left without any medication for a few days.
If the last small sufferings are due to the medication that simulates the symptoms of the
original illness, then those will disappear in a few days or hours. But if in the last

Other ways to combat diseases:

detailed positives in the Pure Medical Matter.
288: I think it is necessary to also speak here of animal magnetism, as it is named, or rather
Mesmerism. By which, the energetic will of a well-intentioned person is exercised
about a patient whether by contact or not, and even at a certain distance, can dynamically transmit to
another person, the vital energy of the magnetizer endowed with this power.
289: All the methods mentioned above for practicing mesmerism are based on the
influx of a greater or lesser amount of vital force to the body of the sick person, hence it is called
positive mesmerism. There is, however, another way to use mesmerism that produces
precisely the opposite effect and that is why it deserves the name negative. This belongs to the
passes that are used to wake a person from somnambulistic sleep and also all the
manual operations known as calming and ventilating. The safest way and
simple to carry out this download through negative mesmerism, of the vital force
accumulated with excess in one part of the body of an unweakened person, consists of a
slow movement of the outstretched hand, kept parallel and one inch away from the body,
from the vertex of the head to the extremity of the feet.
290: Here too it is appropriate to talk about the so-called massage practiced by a vigorous person and
kind to a chronic sick person, who although cured, still suffers from weakness,

moderate kneading of the muscles of the limbs, chest, and back taken
