Summary

Lan Zhan’s heart thumped in his chest.

Wei Ying, Wei Ying, Wei Ying, Wei Ying…his mind chanted.

Lan Zhan unlocked the door and cracked it open a few inches.

“Hello!” A little boy said cheerfully, jumping up off the ground and beaming at Lan Zhan.
Lan Zhan opened the door wide. Wei Ying was sitting cross legged on his welcome mat.
There were two duffle bags beside him. He grinned up at Lan Zhan.

“Hi!” Wei Ying said with a little wave. “Can we come in?”

Or…Lan Zhan finds a family on his doorstep, and decides to keep them.
Lan Zhan thought he was hearing things at first. Everytime he passed by his front door he
heard muffled voices from the outside. He looked at his watch, it was barely 5.30am, he had
only been awake 30 minutes himself…surely there was no one there. A trick of the mind,
perhaps? He walked into the kitchen and cleaned his breakfast dishes, but when he headed
back to the bedroom, he heard the voices again. He put his ear to the door…

“Baba, can we knock yet?”

“Not yet, radish.”

“Why not yet?”

“It’s very early, and I want to wait a bit.”

“The floor is hard.”

“I know, I’m sorry. Not much longer now, little radish, I promise.”

**********

A few minutes later, Lan Zhan was sitting at his dining table with Wei Ying and a small boy
who was humming cheerfully to himself and eating a bowl of cornflakes Lan Zhan luckily
found in the cupboard from the last time Jingyi came round to visit.

Wei Ying was fidgeting and smiling nervously. He had yet to explain why he had been sitting
on Lan Zhan’s doorstep. Lan Zhan didn’t actually give a fuck why he was on his doorstep.
Wei Ying was here in front of him after all these years. He was as beautiful as Lan Zhan
remembered him. At school, Lan Zhan had never been able to look away and he found that
compulsion unchanged. Whatever the reason Wei Ying was here, Lan Zhan was determined
to help.

Lan Zhan sipped his tea, to Wei Ying he assumed it might look like he was patiently waiting
for an explanation but Lan Zhan’s mind was a whirl of secret plans. Lan Zhan was
determining how he could keep Wei Ying in his life, for good this time.

“You’re probably wondering why we are here!” Wei Ying blurted out suddenly.
“Mn,” Lan Zhan agreed.

Wei Ying scrunched up his nose. “Well, you see…recently…things have been a bit…”

“Baba lost his job,” the little boy stated blandly.

“A-Yuan!” Wei Ying hissed.

“You are A-Yuan,” Lan Zhan said to the little boy.

“That’s me!” A-Yuan cried cheerfully. Adorable. Lan Zhan was looking forward to spending
more time with him. Lan Zhan smiled at him and turned his attention to Wei Ying. “He is…”

“Not mine!” Wei Ying cried.

A-Yuan stopped eating and gave Wei Ying a hurt look.

Wei Ying's eyes widened and his brow furrowed. “Oh shit. I mean…of course you’re mine!
You ARE mine and I love you! I just mean that I didn’t…make you. Remember how we
talked about how I don’t have the right…bits for that.”

A-Yuan settled and nodded. “Baba adoted me,” he told Lan Zhan.

“I adopted you,” Wei Ying corrected, stroking a hand over A-Yuan’s soft black hair.

Lan Zhan looked at them and sipped his tea. “A single parent adoption?” he enquired.

Wei Ying nodded. “Yeah…it’s still just me. Single, jobless and with an extra mouth to feed.
Wow, I am such a catch!”

Yes, Lan Zhan’s catch. Lan Zhan sipped his tea and didn’t answer. It was too early to show
too much. He had to contain himself until he knew if Wei Ying was ready to hear all he had
to say. “Wei Ying, how can I help you?” he asked.

“Well you see, we got kicked out of our apartment this morning. Turns out you need money
to pay rent, who knew? Ha ha. Anyway, I didn't want to bother the Jiang’s and we don’t
really know many people here at the moment…”

“When did you move back?” Lan Zhan asked.

Wei Ying looked guilty. “A few months ago, we moved here because I got work but then…
it’s not their fault really. It’s a small start up company, times are hard. It was either me
agreeing to leave or they would have had to fire a family member and I didn’t want that.”

Same old, Wei Ying. Sacrificing himself for the good of others. Lan Zhan loved him so
much. “How did you know my address?” Lan Zhan asked.

Wei Ying bit his thumb. “I’ve known about it for a while now. My sister is still in contact
with your brother. She encouraged me to see you, I was gonna get in touch! I just wanted to
wait until things were settled…”
Lan Zhan nodded. “I understand, Wei Ying.”

Wei Ying jutted out his chin. “Look, I don’t wanna beg, but I will if I need to. We need
somewhere to stay, and you once said anything I need…”

“And I meant it,” Lan Zhan interjected. “I meant it, Wei Ying, then and now.”

Wei Ying smiled. “Thank you, Lan Zhan. I promise, we’ll find somewhere else as soon as we
can.”

Lan Zhan nodded, even though he had no intention of letting them go anywhere. How
fortunate that someone should answer his lonely prayers and deliver a family right to his
doorstep. Lan Zhan would not waste this wonderful gift. “You may stay as long as you need
to, Wei Ying. A-Yuan too. You are both welcome.”

Wei Ying’s shoulders relaxed. “Thank you.”

Lan Zhan nodded and finished his tea. “Let’s get you both settled in.”

**********

Lan Zhan phoned work and told them he was taking a personal day. His boss was curious as
Lan Zhan had never asked for a personal day before but Lan Zhan quickly made an excuse
and ended the call. He owed them no explanation and if all went to plan, everyone would
come to know Lan Zhan’s new…arrangements soon enough.

Wei Ying and A-Yuan were sitting in his living room playing rock, paper, scissors. Lan Zhan
had deposited their bags into his spare bedroom and was now wondering what else he could
do for Wei Ying…

“Lan Zhan!” Wei Ying called from the living room. Lan Zhan immediately moved to Wei
Ying’s side. Wei Ying smiled up at him. “Err…would you mind if I took a shower please?”

Lan Zhan nodded. “The bathroom is through there,” he pointed at a room to their left. “There
are clean towels in the cupboard.”

“Thanks, Lan Zhan!” Wei Ying grinned as he jumped up off the sofa. Wei Ying went into the
bathroom and closed the door. Lan Zhan blinked down at A-Yuan who smiled back up at
him.

“You like rabbits,” A-Yuan said knowingly.

“I do,” Lan Zhan agreed with a nod. “How do you know?”

A-Yuan pointed to a rabbit figurine on a nearby shelf.

“A very clever observation,” Lan Zhan remarked. A-Yuan looked extremely pleased with
himself.

“How old are you, A-Yuan?” Lan Zhan asked.

“Seven,” A-Yuan replied proudly, holding up seven fingers.

Lan Zhan nodded. “Do you like rabbits, A-Yuan?”

A-Yuan nodded enthusiastically. “I do! I want to have a pet rabbit one day. Baba said maybe
but we need to live somewhere where pets are allowed.”

Lan Zhan nodded again. “My apartment allows pets,” he offered.

A-Yuan’s eyes widened. “You could get pet rabbits?” he asked.

Lan Zhan swallowed hard. He felt guilt stabbing at his gut but he was desperate, he couldn’t
let Wei Ying leave again. He told himself this little temptation was for the good of the cause.
“You could have pet rabbits, if you stay here,” he told A-Yuan.

Just then Wei Ying emerged from the bathroom clothed but looking slightly damp and pink
and so huggable Lan Zhan had to fight to keep his hands by his sides.

“What are you two talking about?” he asked as he tried to tie up his still wet hair.

“Rabbits!” A-Yuan exclaimed.

Wei Ying chuckled. “I should have known. A-Yuan is obsessed with rabbits.”

“Mn,” Lan Zhan replied. Desperately wishing he could get his hands on Wei Ying’s locks.

“A-Yuan we should go for a walk or something mmm? Get you out in the fresh air, I’m sure
Lan Zhan has lots to be getting on with…”

“I have taken a personal day from work.”

“Huh?” Wei Ying asked, finally winning the battle against his hair and fixing it into a high
ponytail.

“I have taken a personal day from work, perhaps I could spend some time with you today?”

Wei Ying blinked and then smiled. “Of course! We’d like that. Wouldn’t we A-Yuan?”

A-Yuan nodded. “Park?” he asked hopefully.

“There is a park not far from here,” Lan Zhan replied.

A-Yuan jumped up off the sofa.

“Lead the way, Lan Zhan,” Wei Ying said softly.

**********

The day passed all too quickly and soon it was time to put A-Yuan to bed. Once A-Yuan had
had his bath and had climbed into bed and fell asleep, Lan Zhan and Wei Ying could talk
alone for the first time that day.
“I am sorry I do not have more bedrooms,” Lan Zhan said. “You can either share with A-
Yuan or the sofa is a sofa bed.”

Wei Ying smiled. “It’s no problem sharing with him. He kicks a bit but so do I, ha ha.”

Lan Zhan and Wei Ying were sitting at the dining table drinking some sleepy tea. Lan Zhan
wished he could ask Wei Ying to share a bed with him but it was too soon. In time…if his
plan worked as it should…

“We’ll get out of here as soon as I get back on my feet, Lan Zhan, I promise,” Wei Ying
mumbled.

Lan Zhan frowned. He did not like that Wei Ying kept mentioning leaving. “You do not need
to leave, I have a spare room, it is to be used.”

Wei Ying cocked his head to the side. “Why are you being so nice to me? We didn’t part on
the best terms.”

Lan Zhan put down his tea. “We had a disagreement, Wei Ying. We were much younger then,
I would not want us to revisit old wounds. In truth I have…missed your company.”

Wei Ying’s mouth opened wide then he shut it and smiled. “I’ve missed you too. I feel like an
idiot now, I should have let you know the minute I was in town.”

Lan Zhan’s heart thumped hard in his chest. “I would have liked that.”

They looked at each other for a moment. “Well I better go to bed,” Wei Ying muttered.

Lan Zhan nodded. “I will also retire, goodnight Wei Ying.”

Lan Zhan lay awake staring at the ceiling for a while then sat up and grabbed a pen and paper
by his bed. He wrote “3 month plan” on the top of the page and began outlining the steps he
would need to complete in order to keep Wei Ying with him. He did set a ground rule which
was if Wei Ying objected to anything, the plan would be immediately scrapped. He was not
his father’s son, he wanted Wei Ying more than anything but only if Wei Ying wanted to be
wanted. An hour later, his mind was clearer and he lay back down and fell asleep. He dreamt
of Wei Ying, in his bed, in his arms and awoke at 5am with a soft smile on his face and the
dream of a promising future in his heart.

**********

They fell into an easy routine. On weekdays, Lan Zhan made breakfast while Wei Ying made
sure A-Yuan got ready for school. Lan Zhan would walk them both to the school gates, they
waved A-Yuan off and then Wei Ying would walk with Lan Zhan to his office before waving
and setting off back to Lan Zhan’s again. Wei Ying now had a key which was something Lan
Zhan had to not think about too much as it brought up too many pleasurable feelings. Wei
Ying could come and go as he pleased now. Wei Ying was in Lan Zhan’s home right now,
probably showering or maybe lying on Lan Zhan’s bed naked, touching himself and calling
out for…
“What are you thinking about?”

Lan Zhan jumped and looked up to see his brother standing in front of his desk with a very
amused expression on his face.

“The reports you asked for,” Lan Huan said softly, handing over some files. Lan Zhan took
them. “Thank you brother.”

Lan Huan didn’t leave. He sat down and smiled. Lan Zhan straightened his back and
smoothed out his expression.

“I wonder…could your expression have anything to do with your recent house guest?”

Lan Zhan buried his head in the files. “I have work to do…”

“Then perhaps you should answer my question, then I will leave you to your work.”

Lan Zhan put down the file. His brother blinked at him expectantly. Lan Zhan opened his
mouth to give his brother a bland response when…his phone buzzed. His phone was on the
table between Lan Zhan and Lan Huan. It was a text from Wei Ying and it flashed on the
screen…

😘❤️❤️❤️
LAN ZHAN! YOU BOUGHT ME CHILLI SAUCE? I LOVE YOU!!!!! 🥰🥰🥰😘😘
Lan Zhan pulled his phone away, but it was too late. His brother's eyes were alight with
newfound knowledge.

“Well, I think that answered my question, I’ll see you later, Wangji.” His brother left and Lan
Zhan groaned internally. Lan Huan was a meddler and the last thing Lan Zhan needed right
now was him poking around trying to make things happen when Lan Zhan was already
making things happen! He had a plan and everything was working out perfectly!

They had exchanged contact information…check. He had offered Wei Ying a key…check.
He had learnt all the foods Wei Ying and A-Yuan liked best and bought most of them, except
for the ones that had absolutely no nutritional value…he had some standards…check.

They are settled into a routine of walking A-Yuan to school on weekdays and visiting the
park or the farmers market on weekends…sometimes they watched films together and Wei
Ying would fall asleep on his shoulder, and A-Yuan would squeeze to sit between them and
Lan Zhan would feel so content and full of love for them both…

Another text buzzed in his pocket…

Lan Zhan, thank you again for letting me stay here. You really are the best.

Lan Zhan closed his eyes and took some steadying breaths. Soon…the plan was working…he
just had to stay on course and soon everything he wanted would be his.

**********
Two weeks later, Lan Zhan’s plans were dashed. There was a knock on his door at seven in
the morning. Well not really a knock, more of an angry banging.

“WEI YING I KNOW YOU’RE IN THERE!” Jiang Cheng’s voice hollered.

“Shit!” Wei Ying hissed and started looking around presumably for somewhere to hide. Lan
Zhan looked at him. “I can ask him to leave,” he offered.

Wei Ying looked thoughtful then shook his head. “He’ll just come back, I better deal with
this.” Wei Ying took a deep breath and answered the door. “Jiang Cheng! What a surprise!
Would you like to come in?”

“Why did you come to him over me? I’ve just found out from JieJie that you are homeless!
For fucks sake! I would have taken you in!”

Wei Ying sighed as Jiang Cheng stormed past him. “I know, Jiang Cheng but you live so far
away! A-Yuan’s school is here, he was unsettled enough…”

“So the first person you went to was someone who treated you like rubbish and threw you
away?” Jiang Cheng retorted.

Lan Zhan stepped forward. “Wei Ying is not rubbish and I would never throw him away.”

“You did throw him away!” Jiang Cheng shouted back.

Lan Zhan’s eyes focused on A-Yuan. “Would you go to your room while the grown-ups
talk?” he asked softly.

A-Yuan looked around the room and then nodded and went into the spare bedroom. Lan Zhan
glared at Jiang Cheng. “What happened between Wei Ying and I is none of your business.”

“I think his well-being is my business, and I don’t want you making him think he’s got a shot
with you again just for you to dash his hopes at the last minute just like you did the last
time,” Jiang Cheng growled.

Lan Zhan blinked. A shot? Wei Ying thought he had had a shot with Lan Zhan? Wei Ying had
wanted a shot with Lan Zhan? THERE HAD BEEN A POSSIBILITY OF LAN ZHAN
HAVING A SHOT WITH WEI YING? Lan Zhan looked at Wei Ying who had his head in
his hands.

“Wei Ying?” Lan Zhan asked.

Wei Ying moved his hands. His face was bright red. “Thanks for that Jiang Cheng, before I
was just a homeless, unemployed idiot in his eyes, now I’m a homeless, unemployed lovesick
idiot. So much better. You make all my situations better, hey for my birthday this year, why
don’t you come round and just push me straight off a cliff?”

Jiang Cheng looked a little guilty, then frowned. “He’s the one who threw you away!”
“He didn’t know he had me,” Wei Ying said softly. He glanced sideways at Lan Zhan. “He
didn’t know I…was in love with him when I left, we were never…together.”

Jiang Cheng’s frown deepened. “What the fuck? You were always wrapped around him and
you never stopped talking about him…”

Wei Ying threw his hands in the air. “Great, just great. Thanks, Jiang Cheng. I just went from
lovesick idiot to stalker. You are such a help, I wanna hug you so tightly around the throat
right now…”

“It’s not my fault, he’s stupid!” Jiang Cheng shouted, pointing at Lan Zhan.

“A fair point,” Lan Zhan conceded.

“What?” Wei Ying said. “Lan Zhan, you are not stupid!”

“I consider myself very stupid if I had a chance with you and I did not take it,” Lan Zhan said
softly.

“Lan Zhan…” Wei Ying whispered. They stared at each other.

“You’re right, I make all your situations worse,” Jiang Cheng mumbled looking at the two of
them. “I’m gonna go now before I throw up.” He stormed off and slammed the door after him
but Wei Ying and Lan Zhan didn’t notice.

Wei Ying smiled at Lan Zhan and opened his mouth to speak but then his expression changed
to one of horror. “Oh no! But this isn’t the plan!”

“What?” Lan Zhan asked.

“The plan? Your plan! This wasn’t part of it!” Wei Ying cried, waving his hands around.

“What plan?” Lan Zhan asked, starting to feel something cold creeping into his chest.

“Oh shit. I wasn’t supposed to know about the plan though, was I?” Wei Ying chewed his lip.
“Look I had thought that the least I could do was clean up around here as a thank you for
letting us stay but the place was so spotless! There was nothing for me to do! But in your
room, there was some crumpled up paper in the waste paper basket so I took it out to pop it in
the recycling…but I might have read it before I did that and it appeared to be some sort of list
of things to do with me and A-Yuan…”

Lan Zhan swallowed. “I am sorry, Wei Ying. I deceived you. I let you stay here under false
pretences and I did have a plan…a plan to try and make you both stay with me but I would
never have forced you…”

“Lan Zhan!” Wei Ying half shouted, half laughed. “I’ve been helping you!”

“What?” Lan Zhan asked.

Wei Ying blushed. “I’ve been helping you reach your goal. I…wanted you to reach your
goal.”

Lan Zhan took a step forward. “You want to stay?”

Wei Ying took a step forward. “Yes.”

Lan Zhan took another step. “You want to live with me?”

Wei Ying took another step, they were now inches apart. “Yes.”

“You want to be mine?” Lan Zhan asked.

“Yes,” Wei Ying whispered. Lan Zhan hauled Wei Ying to him by the waist and kissed him.
Wei Ying melted against him and opened his mouth, Lan Zhan wasn’t going to be stupid and
ignore any more signs from Wei Ying so he promptly attempted to stick his tongue down Wei
Ying’s throat and Wei Ying responded very positively.

“Wait..wait…small boy…small impressionable boy…meters away…” Wei Ying gasped,

pushing himself back from Lan Zhan’s chest.

Lan Zhan sighed. “We must take him to school.”

“Could you take a personal day?” Wei Ying asked.

Lan Zhan nodded. “That will not be a problem and if it is a problem, I shall submit my notice
immediately.”

Wei Ying laughed. “Excellent. Very good. We can be unemployed but very happy together.”

Lan Zhan smiled and nodded.

**********

The walk to A-Yuan’s school which usually took around fifteen minutes seemed to take
hours. Lan Zhan told himself he could wait. He had waited this long and at-least now, there
was hope at the finish line. After they waved to A-Yuan and started the walk back to Lan
Zhan’s, Lan Zhan rang his brother.

“I will not be in today, I am taking a personal day,” he said firmly. Wei Ying slipped his hand
into Lan Zhan’s and Lan Zhan’s heart skipped a beat.

“Oh?” his brother said in the tone of ‘do tell me more.’ “I do hope nothing is wrong?”

“The love of my life has agreed to be with me and we need to have sex about it, right now. I
will call you later brother.” Lan Zhan hung up before his brother could respond.

“Lan Zhan!” Wei Ying wheezed. “I can't believe you just did that! Oh my god! How can I
look your brother in the face now? I want to make a good impression on the in-laws!”
In-Laws…Lan Zhan felt a bubble of excitement. It seemed Wei Ying was moving faster than
even Lan Zhan had anticipated. Delightful. He sped up and pulled a half laughing, half
complaining Wei Ying along with him.

**********

Once they reached home, Lan Zhan hesitated. Should he go slow? Should he let Wei Ying
take the lead? Should he throw Wei Ying over his shoulder and carry him to the bedroom?

Wei Ying looked at him and laughed. “Okay, there are like a hundred different scenarios
going through your head right now aren’t there? Look, stop worrying. I’m a sure thing. I want
to do whatever you want to do, I’m hoping the thing you want to do involves us naked and in
your bed.”

Lan Zhan nodded.

“Okay, let’s start there then,” Wei Ying said, pulling him towards the bedroom.

Lan Zhan wanted so much…it was a bit overwhelming…what if he wasn’t what Wei Ying
was expecting? He hadn’t even…

“I’ve never been with anyone…” he blurted out.

“When you say that, you mean…”

“A few kisses is as far as I’ve ever allowed…” Lan Zhan couldn’t meet Wei Ying’s eyes.

There was a shaky breath and then Wei Ying was in front of him. “Lan Zhan, do you
remember what Jiang Cheng told you? About how I was a creepy stalker who only wanted to
touch you and talk about you? That hasn’t changed.”

Lan Zhan was confused and then realisation hit him like a train. “You have never…”

“I have never…I only ever wanted you.”

It was easy from that moment, to undress Wei Ying, to undress himself, to press kisses laced
with vows into Wei Ying’s skin, to claim his lips, to bite gently at his thighs, to use his oiled
fingers to work Wei Ying into a begging frenzy and then slowly push into his heat, wondering
how anything else would never compare.

Wei Ying buried his head in his arms and pushed back into Lan Zhan. Lan Zhan gripped his
hips and focused on making it good for them both.

“I…touch me…please…” Wei Ying pleaded. Lan Zhan leaned over Wei Ying’s back and
reached a hand down to wrap around Wei Ying’s cock.

“Yesssss…” Wei Ying hissed as Lan Zhan stroked him. “Lan Zhan, Lan Zhan, make me
come, make me yours, don’t let me go!”
“Never,” Lan Zhan growled as he came, filling Wei Ying just as Wei Ying stilled and came
all over Lan Zhan’s hand. They collapsed into a heap on the bed and Lan Zhan pulled Wei
Ying close.

“Urgh, now we have to change your sheets,” Wei Ying moaned.

Lan Zhan kissed him on the head. “Wei Ying can do it, he said he wanted to help out around
here.”

Wei Ying barked out a laugh. “You think I can move right now? Lan Zhan, I won’t be able to
walk for a few hours after what you’ve done to me. I demand you carry me around until it is
time to collect A-Yuan.”

Lan Zhan nodded, stood up and picked up Wei Ying in his arms.

“Lan Zhan! I was joking!” Wei Ying laughed as he was carried into the bathroom.

“We will shower, then I will change the sheets and Wei Ying will rest and then at lunchtime I
will make Wei Ying nourishing food to help with his recovery.”

“Lan Zhan,” Wei Ying purred, as Lan Zhan lowered him to stand on the bathroom tile as he
turned on the shower. “You’ll spoil me.”

Lan Zhan kissed his forehead. “I mean to spoil you. I have been holding myself back, scared
you would see how much I wanted you, now that you know everything, I can spoil you as
much as I wish to.”

They stood under the spray together and Lan Zhan washed Wei Ying’s hair.

“Lan Zhan…when did you know you loved me?” Wei Ying asked.

“When Wei Ying sat down next to me and said we were going to be friends.”

“From the start? Really? That long?”

“Mn.”

“It was a little later before I realised my feelings for you.”

“Wei Ying has many, many brilliant thoughts,” Lan Zhan said, kissing his shoulder.
“Sometimes they must wait their turn.”

Wei Ying chuckled. “That’s one way of putting it.”

Lan Zhan finished washing and drying them, then bundled Wei Ying into his fluffiest towel
and changed the sheets on the bed. As he tucked Wei Ying under the sheets, he had a
thought…

“Will you sleep with me here now?” He asked. “Will A-Yuan mind?”
Wei Ying laughed. “He’s seven Lan Zhan, he’ll be thrilled. He’s been hinting that I should
sleep on the sofa bed for weeks.”

Lan Zhan smiled and then frowned. “You do not think he will mind us…”

Wei Ying leaned up and kissed the end of his nose. “He is a clever kid, he figured out how I
felt about you about three seconds after we got here. Ha ha. And he likes you, Lan Zhan. I
think as long as we are honest with him, he’ll be fine with it.”

Lan Zhan smiled and kissed Wei Ying. “I will start lunch. You rest.”

Wei Ying sighed. “If all this had been in the plan you made, Lan Zhan. I would have tried to
speed up the timeline weeks ago.”

“As Jiang Cheng said I am a very stupid man,” Lan Zhan replied and Wei Ying laughed.

Wei Ying napped until Lan Zhan woke him for lunch. They talked about a million things,
well, Wei Ying talked and Lan Zhan delighted in listening to him. They collected A-Yuan
with their hands joined together and A-Yuan beamed at them both.

“Does this mean we can get rabbits?” A-Yuan asked.

“What?” Wei Ying asked.

“We can have rabbits, if we stay, that’s what Gege said, didn’t you Gege?” A-Yuan looked up
at Lan Zhan and blinked innocently.

Lan Zhan’s ears went red and Wei Ying burst out laughing.

“Oh my god, Lan Zhan! Did you attempt to bribe my child with bunnies?”

Lan Zhan didn’t respond to Wei Ying, but he did look down at A-Yuan. “Yes, we can get
bunnies now.”

“Yey!” A-Yuan cheered.

“Unbelievable,” Wei Ying muttered, still chuckling. “Lan Zhan, so sneaky!”

“I apologise,” Lan Zhan conceded as they arrived home.

“I forgive you,” Wei Ying smiled with a wink.

**********

Later that evening…when A-Yuan was tucked up in bed and Lan Zhan and Wei Ying had just
finished a round of satisfying and rather quiet sex…Lan Zhan’s phone rang. It was his
brother.

“Answer it,” Wei Ying coaxed.

Lan Zhan sighed but did as Wei Ying instructed. “Hello brother.”
“Wangji, I’m just calling to see if your um…situation will be resolved by tomorrow, there is a
meeting I really need you to attend.”

Wei Ying snorted as he listened in.

“Yes, I will be returning to work tomorrow,” Lan Zhan confirmed.

“Marvellous! And…would Wei Ying be available for dinner soon? And A-Yuan too of
course, I would love to cook for you all.”

“Yes! We would love that!” Wei Ying called out.

“Wonderful! Well I shall leave you to your evening…I will see you tomorrow, Wangji!”

“Yes, good evening brother.” Lan Zhan hung up.

“Awww your brother wants to cook for us! That is sweet!”

“My brother wants to ask us questions that seem innocent and are really rather probing. He is
a meddler.”

Wei Ying laughed. “Well he is welcome to try, there are no secrets here for him to uncover
anymore. I love you, you love me, and one day we’ll get married and…”

Lan Zhan kissed him. “You said in-laws earlier but I didn’t know if you meant it,” he
gushed.

“Caught that, did you?” Wei Ying grinned. “I meant it. I will mean everything I say to you
from now on, Lan Zhan. I love you.”

“I love you too,” Lan Zhan replied with another kiss. They settled down into bed together,
their legs tangled up and their bodies joined in as many places as possible.

“Hey, Lan Zhan?” Wei Ying whispered into the darkness.

“Mn?” Lan Zhan replied.

“You know when we get married, would you want to…I mean A-Yuan is…”

Lan Zhan kissed him. “I shall make a new plan, now that I have no need of the old one.
Number 1, Marry Wei Ying, Number 2, Adopt A-Yuan, Number 3, Find a boyfriend for my
meddling brother so he stays out of our affairs.”

Wei Ying laughed. “An excellent list, Lan Zhan. I approve.”

“Mn, good. Now sleep.”

Wei Ying snuggled down. “Lan Zhan? Add one more thing to the list.”

“What is it?” Lan Zhan asked.

“Number 4, be ridiculously happy for the rest of our lives.”

a lot of catching up to do and Lan Zhan didn’t intend to waste another minute.

One day Lan Zhan found a family on his doorstep, and he decided to keep them, forever.

The End!
