INTRODUCTION:
The St. Mary Queen of Martyrs Ndejje Catholic Parish Youth Apostolate is dedicated to
empowering and nurturing the youth within our community, providing them with
opportunities for growth, service, and spiritual development. To sustain and expand our
efforts. We are proposing a fundraising initiative focused on acquiring Ice cream machine
project for various events, schools, and other gatherings. This project will not only serve as
a valuable resource for our Apostolate but will also provide a means for generating income
to support our youth programs. The Apostolate aspires to promote youths’ empowerment
through their involvement in the Parish activities and enlighten them about their role as
youths of the Parish by adopting strategies through trainings and Seminars, taking
leadership roles and involving in other community-based activities. The Apostolate has over
200 youths from five subParishes.
The project is expected to take two (2) months’ time frame.
BACKGROUND:
With over 10 years as a Parish, Ndejje Catholic Parish Youths’ Apostolate is a youth group
under St Mary Queen of Martyrs Ndejje Catholic Parish in Entebbe Vicariate – Kampala
Archdiocese comprising of youths from five (5) sub parishes that is; St. Kaloli Sub Parish, St.
Francis Sub Parish, St. Mary Magdalene Lubowa, St. Peters Mutungo Sub Parish and St.
Marys’ Mother of God Lufuka Sub Parish.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The St. Mary Queen of Martyrs Ndejje Catholic Parish Youth Apostolate seeks eight million,
five hundred thousand shillings only (8,500,000 UGX) to launch “Ndejje Parish Youth Ice
Cream Projects,” a youth-led business that will empower youth activities through
entrepreneurship. The project includes a 5,000,000 UGX soft serve ice cream machine and
3,500,000 UGX for startup costs, targeting Ndejje’s high-demand market near schools, events,
and any other gatherings within and outside Ndejje. Guided by Catholic values, the initiative
will create jobs, as well as fund parish youth programs and activities. With sales potential of
30,000–300,000 UGX, based on location of the business, targeting averaging of 100 cones
daily. The business will reinvest profits for sustainability. Join us to transform Ndejje’s youth
and community through this faith driven venture.
PROJECT BACKGROUND:
In Ndejje Community, Makindye Ssabagabo division -Wakiso District, few Ice cream business
have been observed, creating a market gap. These drives demand especially among students,
school children, and workers yet, affordable high-quality options are limited. The St. Mary

Queen of Martyrs Ndejje Catholic Parish Youth Apostolate rooted in Catholic values of service
and stewardship, proposes a youth-led ice cream business to address this opportunity.
With a total investment of 8,500,000 UGX including a 5,000,000 UGX soft serve ice cream
machine and 3,500,000 UGX for startup costs, this project will empower youth with Jobs
since we plan to grow from one machine to many in future. It will also generate income to
fund youth activities and other parish initiatives like Bible study workshops, youth retreats
and seminars, charity, sports, MDD and other team building activities. Inspired by successful
youth ventures, such as the Kampala Youth Cooperative’s food stalls and other youth
Apostolates from neighboring Parishes, this project aims to build a sustainable, faith-driven
enterprise that will uplifts Ndejje youth Apostolate.
PROJECT OBJECTIVES:
- Faith-Based Impact: Reinforce Catholic values by funding parish youth programs
with profits acquired from the project.
- Sustainability: Establish a self-sustaining business that reinvests profits for growth
of the Apostolate, supporting youth programs and other initiatives.
- Youth Economic Empowerment: profits generated can be used to empower youths
who own small business to own capital.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The “Ndejje Parish Youth Ice Cream project” will acquire a brand-new soft serve ice cream
machine (20 liters/hour, dual-flavor), stainless and 2 compressors to produce high-quality
ice cream.
Targeting high-traffic areas like Secondary and Primary Schools, Sunday service and the local
market. The business will sell affordable treats (1,000–3,000 UGX). Youth will manage all
operations, gaining hands-on skills.
IMPLEMENTATION PLAN
- Secure 8,500,000 UGX from donors, parish supporters, youth contribution and all well-
wishers.
- Purchase machine from a trusted supplier.
- Acquire equipment that is; refrigerator, wafer maker and ingredients like ice cream mix and
cones.
- Research high-demand locations like all Schools with in and outside Ndejje Parish and local
market.

- Train youths with support from the machine seller and local trainers.
- Set up a branded stall/cart and create marketing materials like posters and fliers.
- Assess financial and social impact after 6 months using sales data and customers’ feedback.
- Explore expansion like new flavors, additional machines, or event catering.
BUDGET
The project requires eight million, five hundred thousand shillings only (8,500,000 UGX) to
cover the soft serve machine and startup costs. Below is the breakdown;

EXPECTED OUTCOMES:
- Financial Returns: Daily sales: 50–200 units, yielding 30,000–300,000 UGX averaging 100
cones/day at 1,000–3,000 UGX basing on research made from Kampala vendors and
neighboring parishes who own the same business. We expect monthly profits: 900,000–
9,000,000 UGX after expenses, ensuring sustainability.
- Youth Empowerment: Profits fund parish programs such as Youth seminars, vocational
training, and charity, Sports, MDD and other team building activities.
- Inspires other parish youth groups to pursue entrepreneurship.
CONCLUSION:
The “Ndejje Parish youth Ice Cream project” is a faith-driven initiative to empower Ndejje
youth foster economic independence and strengthen the Apostolate group works. The
project Fundraising Initiative represents an exciting opportunity for the St. Mary Queen of
Martyrs Parish Youth Apostolate to enhance its capabilities, strengthen its financial
sustainability and enrich the experiences of youth participants. With your support and
involvement, we can make this project a reality and continue our mission of empowering the
next generation of leaders and disciples.
