Viv Bonnet

By Melissa LaBarre

Sizes: 0-6m(6-12m, 12-24 m, little kid (3+ yrs), teen-adult)

Yarn: Madelinetosh Vintage (worsted weight) 100% superwash wool, 200yds per skein, 1
skein in “fragrant” for any size

Needles: one pair us7 (4.5mm) straight needles, or circular in same size, for working back
and forth. A set of double-pointed needles in size 7 (4.5mm) for working i-cord and 3
needle bind off.

Notions: 2 stitch markers, blunt needle for weaving in ends

Gauge: 20 sts and 36 rows = 4 inches in garter stitch

Pattern:

Instructions for knitters using charted motif (if you prefer working from instructions
that are completely written out, skip to “Written Instructions” section)

Cast on 10 (15, 20, 25, 30) sts, place marker, cast on 30 sts, place marker, cast on 10 (15, 20,
25, 30) sts. Do not join. 50 (60, 70, 80, 90) total sts on needle

Begin working as follows (you will be knitting all sts outside of markers on every row, and
keeping in charted pattern between markers)

Weave in ends. Block using preferred method and lay flat to dry.
