Dog Walk Fingerless Mittens

OVERVIEW
These timeless, cozy ngerless mittens are as practical as they are beautiful. With a neat thumb
gusset and clean lines, they’re perfect for fall walks, morning co ee runs, or anyone who loves to
keep their hands warm while still using their ngers freely. A great way to use up those last pieces
of yarn, so nothing goes to waste.

SIZES
Womens: W: S-(M)-L
Mens: M: S-(M)-L

CIRCUMFERENCE
Womens: W: 147-(168)-189 mm
Mens: M: 210-(231)-252 mm

YARN
10-15 grams of DROPS ora color 15
3-6 grams of DROPS kid-silk color 18

GAUGE
[30 sts x 38 rows] = 10 cm x 10 cm after blocking.
Needle size is only a guide. If you get too many stitches on 10 cm, change to a larger needle size.
If you get too few stitches on 10 cm, change to a smaller needle size.

MATERIALS
2.75 mm circular needles

INSTRUCTIONS

Cast-On & Cu
• Cast on: W: 42-(48)-54 M: 60-(66)-72 sts using your preferred cast-on method. My preferred
method is the long tail cast on.
• Join to knit in the round, being careful not to twist.
• Round 1: Knit all sts.
• Round 2: Knit all sts through the back loop (this prevents the edge from curling).
• Continue in stockinette stitch (knit all rounds) for W: 7-(8)-9 M: 10-(11)-12 or desired cu length.

Thumb Gusset Increases


• Round 1: K3, M1L, K1, M1R, knit to end.
• Round 2: Knit all sts.
• Round 3: K3, M1L, K3, M1R, knit to end.
• Round 4: Knit all sts.
• Round 5: K3, M1L, K5, M1R, knit to end.
• Round 6: Knit all sts.
• Round 7: K3, M1L, K7, M1R, knit to end.
• Round 8: Knit all sts.
• Round 9: K3, M1L, K9, M1R, knit to end.
• Round 10: Knit all sts.
• Round 11: K3, M1L, K11, M1R, knit to end.
• Round 12: Knit all sts.
• You should now have a visible gusset formed for the thumb.

Separate Thumb Stitches


• Round 13: K1, cast o next 15 sts (these are for the thumb), knit to end of round.
• Round 14: K1, cast on 10 sts (to bridge over the thumb opening).
• Continue knitting in stockinette stitch for W: 4-(4.5)-5 M: 5.5-(6)-6.5 cm (length of the thumb to
start of ngers).

Finishing
• Knit 1 round through the back loop (this prevents the edge from curling.
• Knit 1 round normally.
• Bind o using Italian bind-o (or your preferred stretchy method).

Second Mitten
• Repeat all instructions for the second mitten. Since there are no ngers to these mittens, the
right and left are worked the same way.
