Ode
The Ship of State
On Ship! New billows sweep thee out
Seaward. What wilt thou? Hold the port, be stout
See'st not thy mast
How rent by stiff Southwestern blast?
Thy side, of rowers how forlorn?
Thine hull, with groaning yards, with rigging torn,
Can ill sustain
The fierce, and ever fiercer main;
Thy gods, no more than sails entire,
From whom yet once they need might aid require,
Oh Pontic Pine,
The first of woodland stocks is thine.
Yet race and name are but as dust,
Not painted sterns gave storm-tost seamen trust;
Unless thou dare
To be the sport of storms, beware.
O fold at best a weary weight,
A yearning care and constant strain of late,
O shun the seas
That girt those glittering Cyclades
Elegy
Elegy
This is what your dying looks like.
You believe in the sun. You believe
I dont love you. Always be closing,
Said our favorite professor before
He let the gun go off in his mouth.
I turned 29 the way any man turns
In his sleep, unaware of the earth
Moving beneath him, its plates in
Their places, a dated disagreement.
Lets fight about it, baby. You have
Only so long left. A man turns
In his sleep, so I take a picture.
He wont look at it, of course. Its
His bad side, his Mr. Hyde, the hole
In a husbands head, the O
Of his wifes mouth. Every night,
I take a pill. Miss one, and Im gone.
Miss two, and were through. Hotels
Bore me, unless I get a mountain view,
A room in which my cell wont work,
And theres nothing to do but see

The sun go down into the ground

That cradles us as any coffin can.
Sonnet
To Fanny
I cry your mercypitylove!aye, love!
Merciful love that tantalizes not,
One-thoughted, never-wandering, guileless love,
Unmasked, and being seenwithout a blot!
O! let me have thee whole, allallbe mine!
That shape, that fairness, that sweet minor zest
Of love, your kiss, those hands, those eyes divine,
That warm, white, lucent, million-pleasured breast,
Yourselfyour soulin pity give me all.
Withhold no atoms atom or I die,
Or living on perhaps, your wretched thrall,
Forget, in the mist of idle misery,
Lifes purposes, the palate of my mind
Losing its gist, and my ambition blind!
Song
We Thank You o Lord
For the skies so bright and blue...
And the Sun that shines at noon.
For the sparkling stars and Moon;
O Lord, we thank you.
For the light of life you renew
and your love so fresh and pure;
for your faithfulness ever sure...
O Lord, we thank you.
For harvest's fruits nice and new;
for the shrubs, trees and weeds.
For your hands supply our needs...
O Lord, we thank you.
For the dawn that breaks anew
and our days brightened with love;
for great help sent from above...
O Lord, we thank you.
For our friends...the faithful few
And the foes the make us grow;
For the storms and wind that blow...
O Lord, we thank you.
Simple lyric

I Understand
The beginning has begun Looking up at the sun Rejection... Doesn't it feel good
sometimes? Affliction... Doesn't it make you feel sick at times? I've been there, done
that I think of myself rather fat I understand... Head down... I'll make a stand With
an upside down frown Infection... Wouldn't heal...wouldn't heal... Tired, and yet filled
with affection I understand... Head down... I'll make a stand With an upside down
frown Rejection is okay to have Judgement Day is almost here, So I must behave
without the slightest fear My love for you is as numerous as the sand of the beach...
But, now... I don't-don't know what to say or feel Maybe later we'll be with each
other Like no big deal Like no big deal I understand... Head down... I'll make a stand
With an upside down frown I understand... Head down... I'll make a stand With an
upside down frown I'll be happy, not sad Nor mad But, I'll be glad No matter what,
friend I'll love you, even if it's the end The end.
Idyll
The Dream
This life has turned around many curves past many beautiful places that have
beckoned me to stop and walk among the wild flowers. I have stopped to walk
among the wild flowers bending low to smell and gaze at their intricate colors
wondering if there is anyone out there that would pull me down and explore the
wonders of this world ? I look for a woman to complete me to bring to my world
what I can not give. I dream of a woman that I will pour a bath for , light candles for
that I will wash her back in the moon light and ask her to dance to the sound of the
waves. I dream of a woman I smell on the breeze , who's eyes I swim in dropping all
pretenses on the shore. My skin is so soft that a baby will coo when she touches my
chest. She would appreciate me not for my beauty, but even more for the beauty
inside my soul. She has a smile that comes from inside and some would say rivals
the sun. She will move with confidence and she will look for a man whose touch is
tender and this touch awakens all who meet him to the fact that there is love in this
world.

Comedy
Oh, doctor I am in a flap
Oh,doctor I am in a flap I cannot turn this childproof cap I cannot take my medicine
So I shall toss it in the bin The beta blockers make me down I am in a study brown.
The mini aspirins make me bruise And my mind is quite confused. The ibuprofen
hurt my heart Yet without one I cannot start. The thyroxine has no effect So now I
feel my life is dreck. The codeine fails to make me high I'm not addicted, though I
try. I'll have to take a shot of gin And alcohol will make me sin. I'll go to parties in a
dress That makes men's hormones more or less. I'll take a big one home with me,
And give him poison in his tea. And when I am in jail at last I'll feel remorse for all
my past. For as I suffer dreadful pain God has hit me yet again. It's not enough that I
am blind And suffer terrors in my mind Not enough that lovers cruel Give me stick
instead of jewels. Or maybe life does not make sense Especially when I feel so
tense. Maybe random are my days and my life has gone astray. I think that I shall

buy a cat And love it tenderly and chat. But if my cat gives me a scratch... I'll light
its tail up with a match. All the world must me obey Else I'll be enraged all day. I
want my own way all the time. Other people must conform. I am here and full of ills
What do you think of these blue pills? If they take away my heart That at least will
be a start. Then they can remove my brain To help me with this damned pain. Why
not kill me right away Then I'll be from pain astray?
Tragedy
Restless Mind
Oh restless mind, won't you give me a break?
It's like I'm no longer here.
I ask myself day after day how much more I can take
But my heart so broken knows no fear.
I refuse to give in.
I refuse to break down.
Oh but where do I begin
When I feel as if I'm being stomped into the ground?
I may not be weak, but I'm not strong.
The power I hold is within me.
The way some people get treated is wrong,
And I certainly do not agree.
Dramatic history
The Lights
See the phone towers with the lights- Glowing lights! What a world of mischief and
sorrow their pattern foretells! How they twinkle, twinkle, twinkle In the icy air of
night! While the clouds that are gray And so boring, seem to snicker As they watch
over the street known as Gay; Keeping time, time, time, In a sort of Philadelphian
rhyme, To the long-word-I-don't-know-what-it-means that so visually delights From
the lights, lights, lights, lights, Lights, lights, lights- From the flickering and the
twinkling of the lights. II Feel the ominous Morse Code message of the lights,
Incandescent lights! What a world of tightly packed buildings and traffic their
harmony foretells! Through the balmy air of midnight How they ring out their
delight! From the creepy redden lights, And an insight, What a lot of lost sleep I
once owed To the white light reflected onto a certain window making it look Like the
moon! Oh, from out the dormhouse cells, What a gush of imprisoned restless
students wanting the night to end voluminously wells! How it swells! How it dwells
On the Future! Now we face The crushing reality that is this place To the shining and
the lining Of the lights, lights, lights, Of the lights, lights, lights, lights, Lights, lights,
lights- To the electrifying coolness of the lights! III See the now visible sources of the
lights- Stacked lights! What a tale of terror, now, their position tells! In the startled
ear of night How they scream out their affright! Too much horrified to speak, They
can only shriek, shriek, Out of tune, In a clamorous appealing to the mercy of the
city, In a fit of desperation from a phone line seeking pity, Climbing higher, higher,
higher, With a desperate desire, And a resolute endeavor, Now- now to sit or never,
By the side of the pale-faced moon. Oh, the lights, lights, lights! What a tale their

terror tells Of Urban Society! How they flash, and spark, and repeat! What an
inconvenience they defeat Riding the electrical current of the atmosphere with glee!
Yet the eye it fully knows, By the pondering, And the wandering, How the danger
ebbs and flows: Yet the eye distinctly tells, In each tower's tallness, And my
smallness, How the danger sinks and swells, By the sinking or the swelling in the
anger of the lights- Of the lights- Of the lights, lights, lights, lights, Lights, lights,
lights- In the unique ability and memorability of the lights!
Farce
Sniveling Farce
She has prized credentials
where groveling is concerned
and many a brownie point
without merit she's earned
sucking up to management
is something she's good at
her activity is as undistinguished
as a gross gutter rat
she crawls all over the high ups
like an uncontrollable rash
her sycophantic behavior
causes our teeth to disdainfully gnash
to observe her inching
up the head honcho's ass
makes us all snigger
at her sniveling farce

Prose allegory

Refuge from a Shining Star

It was the thing I could not see, which till late I never knew-- For the truth resided
distantly And beyond my frail view. But ah, the truth, both near and far, I was illprepared to see-- That this refuge from a sinning star was never long to be. How
familiar are the worlds away, as the floodlights softly fade-- The home where I will
lastly stay... The reason I was made!
Prose romance
I'm Satisfied
Your touch, satisfies my soul One look from you and I feel whole And I've had more
love than I could ever live And gotten so much more than I could ever give And if I
never see Another sunrise That's ok, cause I'm satisfied. . If I never hear your voice
even one more time I've gotten more than I deserve It didn't cost a single dime
That's ok, cause I'm satisfied It's still a win because you simply let me in If I never
see your smiling face again That's ok, cause I'm satisfied. I've had more love in life
than most folks have ever known and I've sure lost some along the way and I've
reaped every good or bad seed that I've sown And as long as I'm with you That's ok,
ok, cause I'm satisfied
Tale of adventure/experience
My First Concert
I'm standing before the venue with my wrists restrained to get in the door
I then lock arms with beautiful strangers who seem comfortable with closeness
My shoelaces excessively come undone as the marble stairs carry my weight
I'm being lead to different destinations in which I cannot dare to venture alone
I am being spared the front row and the hearts of adolescents are soaring high
I can see the lack of patience in my friends eyes as we wait for this to begin
I'm standing on the edge with a young boy who left me speechless with ten digits
and now the music starts playing and I'm channeling my energy into the
symphonies.
Short story
Hungry Wolf
Once, a wolf was very hungry. It looked for food here and there. But it couldn't get
any. At last it found a loaf of bread and piece of meat in the hole of a tree.
The hungry wolf squeezed into the hole. It ate all the food. It was a woodcutter's
lunch. He was on his way back to the tree to have lunch. But he saw there was no
food in the hole, instead, a wolf.
On seeing the woodcutter, the wolf tried to get out of the hole. But it couldn't. Its
tummy was swollen.
The woodcutter caught the wolf and gave it nice beatings.

Fable
Addison
If I tell you the story about garden gnomes and blue light it will be more a fairy tale
maybe even a fable you know there are animals in it and they are talking no God
shouldn't be mad no way there is no sense that he bought me a watch I rarely know
to say when is the right time
Fairy tale
Scattered Petals
Insecurity keeps me tearing at the edges of my soul,
discarding the essence of what makes me whole
Colorful petals lay scattered at my feet
the bloom of I Am so fragrant so sweet
May love override my most fearful of thoughts?
with fairy tale whispers where in love I am sought.

No Time to Take a Doze
All my dreams should start coming true, and depending on vast point of view,
Another poem will be in the making Being outstanding and breath-taking. At times,
life seems short yet still so sweet, And soon when both our minds may meet By
England will be seduced and induced So many more poems may be produced.
Thorough out all times has been history; Much of it a mystery meant for me to
produce poems which will explain Why rain mainly stays in the plain.

A New How
If you could relive an ancient day, which day, which day, which day would you say?
First kiss, first date Or undo a mistake? . Watch your child be birthed again Go back
and unhurt a wounded friend? Unsay a word? Unbreak a heart? Undrink that first
drink? Unscar that first scar? . Or would you go to another place Feel your dad's
hands see your mom's face? Laugh with your sisters Let little brother win that foot
race. Maybe pet that dog just one more time Hear grandma recite that old nursery
rhyme Maybe take up for the kid that got picked on Or hear again for the first time
your favorite old song. Or tell your kids you loved them again and again No matter
what they'd just done or how late they had been But you can't go in reverse to
relive any day What you would have done Or what you would say. But you can say
now what you wouldn't before You can be someone new open up a new door You
can make a difference in your here and now You can't be a new when but can be a
new how
