Primer Mission Guidelines

Every mission has a total of 10 possible Battle Points that can be

earned.
Battle points are earned from a Primary worth 4 Battle Points, a
Secondary worth 3 Battle Points and three Bonus Points each worth
1 Battle Point.
If you do not have a Lord of War and your opponent does, then you
gain a +1 to Seize the Initiative.
Every 3 Hull points removed from a Lord of War Super Heavy and
every 3 wounds removed from a Lord of War Gargantuan Creature
provide 1 extra VP to the Secondary.
Any VPs earned via special rules and warlord traits apply only to the
Secondary.
Whichever player has the most Battle Points wins their game. Equal
Battle points is a draw.
If you are placing a Fortification and terrain becomes an issue you
may remove one piece of terrain that is wholly within your side of
the table in order to place your Fortification. If that does not solve
the issue then ask an impartial judge or work out a reasonable
solution with your opponent.
Fortifications may not be placed in an abusive manner (e.g. cannot
be placed over objectives, or in a way which makes it impossible to
reach parts of the table).
Mysterious objectives, Night Fighting, Reserves and Random Game
Length are in use in all missions
LVO/BAO Veterans: There are missions that are identical to LVO
2015 and some which are not. Please read carefully and do not
assume the mission is the same as LVO.
Any feedback on the missions, typos and clarifications that are
needed is appreciated!
Note: The actual missions used at the event are subject to change.

Order of Operations
1. Adjust and define terrain with your opponent. There should be a
roughly symmetrical distribution of terrain on the table.
2. If applicable, determine the corners being used for Vanguard Strike,
either by agreement or a roll off between opponents.
3. If the mission calls for pre-deployment objective placement than do
so now following mission instructions. Roll-off if needed to
determine who places first.
4. Generate Psychic powers and other codex specific pre-deployment
determinations (Gifts, allocation of characters, etc).
5. Roll-off for deployment zones.
6. If the mission calls for mid-deployment objective placement then do
so now following mission instructions. Start with the player who
won the roll-off to pick sides.
7. Roll for Warlord traits if applicable. The Tactical Traits are not
available in these missions. If your opponent has a Super Heavy or
Gargantuan LoW then you may roll on the Escalation Warlord table.
8. Roll for Night Fighting
9. Roll for first turn. The player that wins the roll can choose to go first
or second. The player going first then deploys first and goes first
unless the other player seizes the initiative.
a. If you do not have a Lord of War and your opponent does,
then you gain a +1 to Seize the Initiative.
10. Play the game.
11. Game ends based on Random Length Rules.
12. Determine who wins the Primary and who wins the Secondary and
tally up bonus points.
13. Victory is determined based on the Battle Points earned.
