Democracy is proven to be the most successful and effective form of government according to the author. People enjoy the services and safety provided by democratic governments. The author is lucky to be born and raised in a democratic country like the Philippines where citizens can enjoy freedoms like voting, freedom of expression, and access to information. Without democracy, the country could become a suppressed and controlled environment where people lose their ability to think and dream freely. Democracy allows people to work on both morality and legality while choosing their own leaders and having the chance to voice their opinions.

COMMITMENT TO DEMOCRACY

Human history has already proven that the most successful and the most
effective form of government is democracy. People are relishing the services and
the safety that the government provides them. I find myself lucky that I am born
and raised in a democratic country. Filipinos are enjoying the freedom to vote, to
express and to know. Without democracy, our country could be a suppressed and
controlled environment. We will lose our ability to think and to dream. Nobody wants
to be choked and fed with selfish mandates. With democracy we are able to work on
morality and legality at the same time. With democracy we are able to choose our
leaders. Democracy gives us a chance to speak and to express ourselves. For me,
the best form of government to be administered in this country is only democracy.
