The Series D2066 LF
series of inline engines
was a new
development for the
heavy Trucknology
Generation (TGA)
series of MANtrucks:
New, higher power-
output and torque
ratings and
steeper torque curves.
Increased peak
effective pressure in
the engine and the
newcombustion
principle with
common-rail (CR) fuel
supply havedistinctly
improved engine
efficiency and lowered
fuelconsumption over
large area of the
operating range.
The system used to
bolt down the
individual cylinder
heads, the cylinder
head gaskets, the
cylinder liners and the
crankcase have all
been redeveloped to
withstand the
higher ignition
pressures.
Adoption of the
second-generation
Bosch Common Rail
fuel injection system
(1600 bar).
Engine management
by EDC7 and
communication with
FFRvia the CAN bus.
Depending on
operating conditions
and the quality of the
fueland oil, oil-change
intervals of up to
120.000 m can
beachieved, so that
the customers
operating costs are
lower.
The new D2066LF
10.5-litre engine
concept is designed
toachieve even higher
reliability.
The engine braking
effect has been
increased in
conjunctionwith a
developed version of
the pressure-controlled
exhaustvalve brake
(EVB) which is
available as
an optional extra.
