SERVICE INFORMATION LETTER SIL16-2

Contains Useful Information Pertaining To Your Aircraft Engine

SUBJECT: M-0, Standard Practice Maintenance Manual Release

PURPOSE: Announce availability and applicability of the
M-0, Standard Practice Maintenance Manual
COMPLIANCE: During all scheduled and unscheduled engine maintenance activity
MODELS
AFFECTED: Continental Motors (CM) horizontally opposed, spark-ignited aircraft engines
operating on aviation gasoline (AvGas) listed below

I. GENERAL INFORMATION
Continental Motors is proud to announce the release of the M-0, Standard Practice Maintenance
Manual. The Standard Practice Maintenance Manual applies to all horizontally opposed, spark-
ignited aircraft engines operating on AvGas fuel.
The content of M-0 is supplemental to the existing Instructions for Continued Airworthiness
(ICA) for Continental Motors engines listed in Section II, Applicability. M-0 contains
scheduled maintenance intervals and thorough instructions for the owner to complete the
maintenance and many standard repairs within the document. See Section III, Incorporated
Service Documents for a list of service documents incorporated in, and superseded by M-0.
M-0, Standard Practice Maintenance Manual is available for immediate download from the
Continental Motors web site at www.continentalmotors.aero. Printed copies are available for
purchase from the CM Powerstore (www.cmipowerstore.aero).
II. APPLICABILITY
Continental Motors Part No. M-0, is supplemental, as defined by Title 14 CFR33.4, to the
maintenance and overhaul manuals listed below. Together, this manual, those listed below, active
service documents and FAA Airworthiness Directives comprise the Instructions for Continued
Airworthiness for applicable engines.
Layered instructions, found in both M-0 and the principal ICAs listed below, will be revised to
reference the instructions in M-0. Until revisions are complete, where a conflict of instructions or
specifications is discovered between the principal ICA and M-0, the contents of M-0 shall be
required.
