Recommendation 6

Nicole Cottle is seeking a teaching position and has provided a recommendation letter from Nicole Cowgill. Cowgill praises Cottle's work as a teacher, mentor, and team player during her three years teaching various subjects at Follansbee Middle School. Cowgill notes that Cottle arrives early and stays late, putting her heart and soul into hands-on lessons and innovative technology. As a member of the fifth-grade team and various committees, Cottle is actively involved and works to meet the needs of students and colleagues. Cowgill has no doubt that Cottle would be an asset to the fifth-grade team at Brooke Middle School due to her passion for teaching.

To whom it may concern:

It is my absolute pleasure to be able to write this letter for Nicole Cowgill. I have had the honor of
working and collaborating with her for the past three academic school years at Follansbee Middle
School. ln our time together, she has taught all the general subjects and excels at easily adapting to the
challenges that come with working in a middle school. She was also a great mentor for me during my
first year.

Nicole is the type of person who arrives to work early and stays past the four o'clock bell. She puts her
heart and soul into teaching. She has made several of her own resources for math stations and uses
research-based strategies to reach the students that she teaches. Most of her lessons are hand-on and
incorporates students from Mrs. Fuscardo's classroom into her own whenever she can.

As a member of the fifth-grade team, Nicole has shown what it truly means to be a team player. She
offers her resources to her teammates and works with us to develop exciting curriculum that meets the
needs of learners in the 21't century. Nicole loves learning about innovative technology and with the
help of a co-worker, Nicole received a grant for Reflex Math (a fluency based computer activity). Along
with this technology, Nicole has used the Microsoft Suite provided to students from the state to
enhance their learning and understanding of concepts taught in all areas.

Not only is Nicole a teacher but she is also an active member in various committees at Follansbee
Middle School. She participates in Math PLCs, Grade-Level PLCs, English Language Arts PLCs, Safety
Committee, and the Social Committee. Nicole works hard to diversify herself and meet the need9of
each team. Nicole also created a 9th period book club this year. ln the book club, students read Rules
which spreads autism awareness.

There is no doubt in my mind that Nicole Cowgill is an asset to the fifth-grade team and would make for
a great addition to the fifth-grade team at Brooke Middle School. Nicole has a passion for teaching and
shares that with her students and co-workers.

Best Wishes,
