Day 4 Tasks

The document outlines resources that can be used to target specific scientific skills and concepts in a classroom. It lists animals and leaves as resources, and describes how each could be used to develop skills like classification and comparing/contrasting. It also discusses incorporating a variety of learning styles, noting that visual and kinesthetic styles seem most enjoyed by students. The teacher includes different activities to engage auditory, visual, and kinesthetic learners, like counting, using worksheets, and acting out stories. This allows each student's individual learning style to be addressed.

Learning styles task

Make notes about activities you observe in the classroom which use VAK
learning styles (see table 5)
Which learning styles did all the children seem to enjoy and why?
Visual and kinesthetic, because children enjoy using colors and drawing and
they are always hyper and want to move.
Why do you think the teacher incorporates a variety of learning styles for the
children?
Because each student has a different learning style.
Notice which activities are repeated with a variety of learning styles e.g. read
a story, listen to a story, act the story, and draw the story. Can you find other
examples e.g. math or science?
Math: The teacher starts to count with the students from one to ten
(auditory). Then she ask 10 students to stand and each one of them was a
number(Kinesthetic). After that, she gave them a worksheet about numbers
and what required from them was to color the numbers the took (visual).
How can teachers improve student learning by using a range of learning?
Use all the learning styles by using different activity of each of them.
