pursue for general degree courses and for technical and professional courses including medical and para ­
medical courses.
Sir/Madam,

     Congratulations!! With reference to your application for the ”Ishan Uday “ Special Scholarship Scheme For North
Eastern Region, I  am  happy  to  inform  you  that  based  on  the  recommendations  of  the  Expert  Committee;  the  UGC  has
selected  you  for  the  ”Ishan Uday “ Special Scholarship Scheme For North Eastern Region,  for  the  year  2015­16.
The tenure of the scholarship is with effective from 01.04.2015 for the full duration of the Undergraduate programme. The
summary of the financial assistance offered under the Scheme are as follows:

It may be noted that the admission to general degree courses and for technical and professional courses including medical
and  para medical  courses.  should  be  taken  by  fulfilling  the  conditions  of  admission  of  the  University/   Institution  concerned
subject to the provision of the scheme as per advertisement of UGC.
It  may  also  be  noted  that  the  scholarship  amount  shall  be  disbursed  to  the  bank  account  of  the  awardee,  (any  bank)
directly through designated  branches  of  Canara  Bank  as  per  agreement  (MoU)  made  between  UGC  and  Canara  Bank.  The
list  of  designated  branches  of  Bank  will  be  available  on  UGC  website/portal  i.e.  www.ugc.ac.in  and
www.ugc.ac.in/ner.  The  awardee  is  required  to  approach  the  designated  branch  along  with  a  Copy  of  the  Award  Letter
and Joining Report with photograph, address and contact no. in the prescribed proforma

The  awardee  is  also  required  to  submit  the  following  documents  to  the  designated  branch  of  the  Bank  at  the  stipulated
period interval:
1. Joining Performa for fresh awardees Annexure­I
2. Performa for renewal Annexure­II
3. Certificate of income

4. Domicile of states of NER
5. Quarterly Continuation certificate Annexure­III
6. Affidavit (Undertaking for not availing any other Scholarship in the form of an affidavit on Rs.50/­ Stamp paper
from the student/parent duly attested by SDM / First Class Magistrate / Gazetted Officer (not below the rank of
Tahsildar) copying the prescribed languages Annexure­IV

1. It may be noted that UGC has proposed to link “AADHAAR” with student’s bank accounts numbers so that there can be
direct  cash  transfer  and  effective  disbursal  of  scholarship  into  the  bank  account  of  the  student.  In  this  regard  Secretary,
UGC  has  already  requested  to  universities  for  helping  the  students  for  Aadhaar  Enrolment  vide  his  D.O.  letter  No.F.14­
34/2011(CPP­II) dated 11­01­2013.
It  may  please  be  noted  that  the  award  is  liable  to  be  cancelled  and it will also attract legal action against the awardee in
the following cases: 

i)If  the  awardee  is  found  to  be  ineligible  to  receive  the  award,  at  any  point  of  time  during  the  entire  duration  of  the
scholarship 
ii)Misconduct of Awardee 
iii)Unsatisfactory progress of research work of the awardee
iv)Any other scholarship is drawn from other source(s).
v)Concealment of facts and on any other ground of misconduct. 
      In order to provide easy accessibility, all the  details  of  the  scheme,  its  requirements,  all  the  prescribed  proforma  for
submission  of  the  documents  along  with  the  details  of  the  designated  branches  of  Bank  are  available  on  the  UGC  portal
