As a result of this lesson, students will be able to:
 Create a card for an important person/people in their life containing things they are grateful for.
 Create at least two ‘good deed vouchers’ to give an important person/people in their life.
Teacher’s Prior Preparation/Organisation: Provision for students at educational risk:

- Locate copy of the story The Smallest Gift of Christmas Sensory impaired;

- When people of God’s family get ready for Christmas they
try their best to live how God would like

we need to try extra hard to act in that way.

are just as special.

show love and kindness during this time

Transition: (What needs to happen prior to the next lesson?)

- Children will have science after this lesson.
- Children are asked to move off the mat and pack up their
desks.
- Children will be asked to get a drink if they want it and line
up at the door.
- While children are waiting for the science teacher to collect
them we will practice skip counting in 2’s, 5’s and 10’s.

Assessment: (Were the lesson objectives met? How will they be

- The objectives will be assessed through a checklist and the
work samples that children would have created during the Appendix 3
lesson.
- Informal assessment techniques such as observations and
anecdotal notes can be used to assess if the children could
identify ways in which people can show love to God and
