Intertextuality
    Creating one text in reference to another
       There are many intertextual references in books, music, radio, TV, film.
       E.g. Justin Timberlake performs Michael Jackson dance moves
       Much more than just borrowing it’s a device by which writers/ directors/ performers create
        layers of meaning that are at times hidden.
Types
       Pastiche- An imitation of a narrative or film genre. Similar to parody but more gentle and
        respectful to the original. Made to create light humour
       Parody- Work that mimics, in an absurd or ridiculous way, the conventions and style of
        another work.
       Nostalgia - a wistful or excessively sentimental yearning for return to or of some past period
        or irrecoverable condition
       Homage - Expression of a high regard/ respect for a legend or well-known celebrity. It can be
        a tribute and is done to honour or admire someone or something.
       Plagiarism- the practice of taking someone else's work or ideas and passing them off as
        one's own.
