Bet 10 Report

This document discusses quality control inspection in the automotive manufacturing process. It explains that quality control ensures vehicles are free from defects by putting them through rigorous testing. It is better to begin quality control before production to prevent waste and issues for consumers. The document also outlines the importance of quality control, necessary tools like failure analysis, and improving quality culture through close supplier relationships and accountability. It provides a checklist of inspection types like exterior, interior, engine, and functions testing to verify correct working order.

How Automotive Quality Works

Automotive manufacturing Quality Control ensures that vehicles are

free of defects and operational issues. The process usually involves putting
vehicles through rigorous testing routines to achieve excellent engineering,
safety, and comfort for the end-user.

According to popular thought, Quality Control happens at the end of

the manufacturing cycle. What’s more correct, though, is to begin the process
before the initial production models come off the assembly line. This latter
method prevents the build-up of undue manufacturing waste, significantly
minimizing cost and shielding the consumer from preventable cost implications.
The Importance of Quality Control

Quality control is important in nearly every industry. It ensures that

each product leaving the factory is of the highest quality and the same
as all those items that came before it.

Quality control can also spot problems before the product is marketed
to consumers, leading to better releases. It can ensure that these
products meet industry standards — for some components, like the
exhaust and emissions systems, meeting the right standards is essential.
Having the Right Tools
Automotive quality control is all
about having the
right tools for the job. These tools
will vary a little bit depending on the
exact product that's being produced,
but there are several core tools that
any automotive facility can utilize to
improve their quality control plan.
These tools include a failure mode
analysis, a statistical process control
and a measurement system analysis
Improving Automotive
Quality Control
Start by creating a quality of culture. Everyone, from the lowest-
experience factory worker to the highest manager, should be
focused on creating a quality product. This dedication includes
having an open door policy where workers are not afraid to
bring production problems or quality concerns to the attention
of those above them.

If you use suppliers, work closely with them to ensure that their
quality control measures align with your own. That way,
products that come from other facilities will meet your quality
standard without requiring repair or modification, saving both
time and money in the long run.
INSPECTION
CHECK LIST
What is an Inspection checklist?

 An inspection checklist, when used properly, is an assurance that a particular

piece of equipment has been inspected. As each item on the checklist is ticked off,
the person doing the inspection is verifying that each component of the equipment
is in correct working order.
Benefits of Inspection Checklists

 Checklists can keep people organized and on task. They provide guidelines that
those performing the inspection can follow. Employees will feel accountable for
performing the inspection because there is a written record. In general, checklists
can prevent vague inspections. They provide step-by-step methods for analyzing
equipment, workspaces and tasks.
Purpose of Inspection

 Inspection means careful evaluation. The primary objective of inspections is

meeting customer requirements and preventing defective products from
being distributed. It is undeniable that some of the product defects cannot be
checked or fixed at the final production stage.
