   & main idea
       first what is theme?
 Theme is the central idea explored
throughout a text and can be stated
     either indirectly or directly. A
   literary theme is universal and
applies to all characters and events
           of  the entire  text.
     -theme gives meaning to the story by
 providing some idea or insight about human

family, friendship, redemption,
forgiveness, coming of age,
revenge, good vs. evil, bravery,
hardship

Moral are the rules which
people use to guide their
 behavior and thinking.
-when an individual is dealing
       with, or capable of
 distinguishing between right
           and wrong.
why do we have a different
        morals?
Because systems of meaning and
 ways of thinking differ from one
 culture to another, people from
   different cultures typically
  develop different ideas about
morality and the best way to live.
    They often have different
 conceptions of moral authority,
what is the difference between
        moral and ethics?

    a piece of writing,
  whether it's a book,
poem, movie, or even a
 song, is a crucial step
towards understanding
its deeper meaning. It's
 about recognizing the

    A general statement about the
  paragraph (or reading selection).
  The main idea is a sentence that
provides the subject for discussion;
it is the topic sentence. It is usually
supported by a list of details. If you
can tell what the supporting details
have in common, you can discover
       how to find main idea?
       1.ask yourself. ‘’what is this
              mostly about?’’
       2. look at the title of the text.
      3. look at the picture.
  4.look for words repeated over and over.
   5. sometimes the main idEA IS EITHER RHE
     FIRST OR LAST SENTENCE IN THE TEXT
6. DON’T GET DISTRACTED BY INTERESTING INFORMATION
        THAT DOESN’T SUPPORT THE MAIN IDEA.
