READY
 The Hon'ble Prime Minister of India launched the Student

READY programme on 25 July, 2015.


 New initiative of ICAR based on the recommendation
made by 5th dean committee.
 Rural entrepreneurship awareness
Practical experience in real-life situation in rural
agriculture
Creating awareness to undergraduate students
about practical agriculture and allied sciences.
Help in building confidence and skill
Acquire Indigenous Technical Knowledge (ITK) of the
locality
Preparing the pass-out for self-employment
Acquire hands-on-experience and entrepreneurial
Components are proposed for carrying out

implemented in final year of B. Sc. Ag.
(Hons)
The seventh semester consists of Rural
Awareness Work Experience and Agro
Industrial Attachment
Experiential learning in Eight Semester
RAWE and AIA are undertaken by the
students for duration of 20 weeks with
weightage of 0+20 credit hours.
Credit hours are allotted on the basis of
duration of each phase of the progamme.
RAWE and AIA programme consist of

Objectives of RAWE and AIA
To provide opportunity to the students to
understand the rural situation about
agriculture and allied activities

EXPOSURE OF VILLAGES AND FARMER’S FIELD

The students have to be practically exposed on different aspects


of farmers’ life. Advance arrangement is made contacting
leaders of selected villages to execute exposure effectively.
During the exposure, RAWE teachers will help students staying
in village areas. A batch of two teachers manages this exposure
with groups of students.

EDUCATIONAL TOUR

An educational tour of 14 days at research stations of SAUs of


Gujarat and other states, ICAR institutions, private
organizations, cooperative organizations is organized during
this phase.
ACADEMIC REGULATIONS:
(A) ATTENDANCE AND DISCIPLINE:
 Cent percent attendance is compulsory for students
failing in which he/she has to repeat the semester by
his/her own cost.

 The students need to maintain good discipline during


RAWE course work.

 The students are not allowed to leave any component on


official/personal work without the written permission of
the Principal.

 The permission is given only on valid ground. However,


he/she has to make up the missing component with extra
work.

B3 Research Stations and KVK:

An overview of the research station


Objectives of the research station and KVK.
Role of research station for the development of the farmer.
Main activities of the research station and KVK.
New experience gained during the stay at research station.
Outstanding research work carried out by the research station.
Demonstrations arranged by the research station and KVK.
Extension activities carried out by the research station and
KVK.
Student’s comments and any additional information based on
observation.
B4 Agro Industries and Co-Operatives:

Brief information about visit and study of Agro-industries and


co-operatives.
Personnel contacted and information collected from them about
their industries and co-operatives.
Experience gained during visit or study at agro-industries and
co-operatives, seed production unit, workshops involved in
design, fabrication and production of agricultural machineries,
manufacturing unit of different tools used in IPM, pesticide and
fertilizer companies, poultry farm, milk society etc.
Brief information about role of agro-industries and co-
operatives in rural development.
Brief information about personnel contacted concerned to
agricultural marketing and banking sector information collected
from the
B5 Research and Extension activities related to agricultural
animal husbandry and allied fields:

 Working system of NGOs.

 Research and Extension activities related to agriculture,


animal husbandry and allied fields.

 Role of NGOs in Socio-economic development of people.


B6 Village Stay:
General information about personal, social, economic,
psychological characteristics of the visited farmers.
Detail information about the functions of village-availability of
the school, co-operative society, road facility, major crops grown
and irrigation facility.
Knowledge and adoption level of farmers about methods used
for control of plant diseases, insect and pest, stored grained
pests, weeds and package of practices of major crops.
Information about soil and water testing, area under different
varieties verification of characteristics of varieties, improved
implements and machines, cost of cultivation of the major crops.
Farmers awareness about application of Soil Health Card
 Dairy farmers’ information about their animals, feeding
practices, breed method, economics of milk.
 The indigenous practices adopted by the farmers in
agriculture and animal husbandry.
 Problems faced by the farmers in adoption of modern
practices.
 Meetings and extension activities for discussion of
problems, advice given by the students to solve their
problems.
 Experience shared and guidance given by the student to
the farmers during the stay in the village.
 Other information if they feel to incorporate.
