Your responsibilities will include: - Influencing the design, capacity planning, tuning, and build out of Exadata DB instances on Oracle Cloud infrastructure - Working towards automating key operational activities - Administering middleware environments, including installation, configuration, migrations, tuning, patching, administration, and monitoring on any middleware platform such as Oracle - Ensuring the effective daily operation of production/Middleware applications and providing administrative support for new implementations, upgrades, and migrations - Keeping the DB system up to date and patched to the latest version in an automated fashion - Developing solutions to ensure DB health checks are done in an automated and proactive fashion - Interacting with customers and developers for priority situations and responding in a timely manner - Playing a key role in designing HA/DR solutions for the new Identity cloud service - Getting involved in Performance, Scalability, and Reliability Analysis, as well as database query tuning - Troubleshooting HA/DR and Database Performance issues on the existing cloud service - Working with architects and development managers to specify requirements and perform detailed engineering analysis from a data requirements perspective - Owning database/schema design documentation at the component and product level - Participating in rapid delivery planning, building, configuring, deploying, monitoring, and documenting for Oracle Cloud projects - Improving the current service deployment infrastructure using automation and the latest cloud capabilities to enhance agility, reliability, and observability - Moving/re-implementing existing On-Prem services to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure securely and leveraging the latest cloud services - Having expertise in cutting-edge products and technologies such as Real Application Clusters, GoldenGate, High Availability, Data Guard, Corruption, Backup and Recovery, RMAN, Performance, Memory Management, Parallel query, Query tuning, Storage, ASM, Security, Networking, Enterprise Manager, etc. This role requires a minimum of 10 years of industry experience and the ability to deal with complex problems without supervision. Ideally, you should have prior experience administering large-scale Oracle databases, particularly Exadata and GoldenGate deployments. You will be a key member of the technical problem-solving and problem-avoidance team, addressing extremely complex and critical customer issues. Your contribution to improving customer interaction, support, and engagement experience will be invaluable in deflecting or avoiding service tickets. As an accomplished database Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will be self-driven and possess a great combination of design skills, with a focus on performance tuning and troubleshooting around EXADATA and GoldenGate. You should have experience working in large enterprise software product teams and deploying services on popular Cloud platforms like OCI, AWS, or Azure. Your role will involve automations around scripting, DevOps, and making operations more efficient by automating key and routine operational activities. Additionally, you will be the Oracle face for the GBU product suite, handling customer calls and escalations with SME technical skills, strong written and verbal communication, as well as effective convincing and negotiation abilities.
