Takers Reviews
Total crap, no tension, bad acting.
Dumb movie, dumb ending.
Takers delivers on exactly what was advertised. Over-the-top action, some interesting heists, poor acting, even poorer character development and an overall entertaining popcorn flick. Honestly, my biggest gripe with this film is the surplus of characters with minimal development. Take out the brothers or swap them for the Walker/Elba duo and there could have been something there. Unfortunately, because of the shallow characters and relationships, the third act redemption feels unwarranted. Looking at the writing credits, everything makes sense: re-writes and too many writers in the room made for a convoluted mess. That being said, seeing a tattooed, fedora-wearing Hayden Christensen made this movie worth it. Best Character: AJ Best Quote: "We're takers, gents. That's what we do for a living. We take." - Gordon Best Scene: Hotel w/ the Russians Best Piece of Score: All Signs Point to It
Pretty muck like HEAT but very good performances by Elba, Walker and Dlllon. Typical fare but highly enjoyable
paul walker carries
A hot mess. The editing and constant camera cuts make this movie almost unwatchable. Manic editing is not a replacement for story or action and this film proves it.
It is BAD. The worst thing about the film is that it starts off not too bad and you will have watched so much of it before you realise how bad it actually is that you will want to finish watching to see if it gets any worse. There will be Zero surprises as all of the plot twists are stolen from other, better, films…
good movie with a great cast. I recommend.
Pior filme do gênero que já fizeram.
Entertaining, not a film that professional film critics will go for, but for the average Joe it's a good film to watch when you just need some action and don't need to listen or see everything to know what's going on, watched it when it came out in 2010, and 13 years later it still entertains
I enjoy heist movies especially when the crew has the smarts. This one was just okay. The ending could have been better! RIP Paul Walker.
The first 30 min kinda sucks, but from there on, it's actually a cool film. Paul Walker, alba and hayden christianson are standouts, while TI puts on a horrible horrible will smith impression. Chris brown was good and his chase scene was badass. Paul walkers truck scene was the best in the movie and alba had a decent family story. Good action and familer faces elevate this to a Stoned Saturday flashy flick. 6.7/10
Action was good, acting was plain terrible. The ending just terrible it was just you average cops chasing bad guys thats about it. 3
Great start for an even greater ending disappointment. No wonder they didn't do a takers 2. So many nonsense I'm not going to name them all but one: the score provided by the Russians is to bring $25 to 30 million, but they just want $250,000 for the tip? And everyone's falling for this? I'm putting 2 stars only for the pace and the pleasure to watch some beloved actors, mostly but not only Idris Elba and the late Paul Walker.
Nothing new for the genre here but a nice easy heist movie to watch 3.0 . Side note . I used to love T.I. as a kid but now I don’t think he’s a great actor
Not terrible but very forgettable movie
I thought it was a great film, Idris Elba and Hayden Christensen were definitely the high points of the film.
What a gripping chase scene in the middle of the movie that keeps you glued to the screen to the rest of the end. It's light-hearted to a fault. The characters are distinctive. Definitely a watchable streaming recommendation.
Like to everyone else said, good action, good cast, but no character development at all. They could have at least had some quick flashbacks for each character to show some history and explain how they learned how to use explosives and become professional thieves.
