Turkmenistan has expressed its willingness to cooperate with Japan in the field of artificial intelligence. This was reflected in a press release published by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Japan following a meeting between Turkmen Ambassador to Japan Atadurdy Bayramov and Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike. The meeting also discussed issues of AI and digital transformation, the embassy said, and the sides exchanged views on expanding cooperation in economic, industrial, and technological sectors.

Telia Finland announced a new contract with IT services provider CGI. Under the agreement, Telia will provide infrastructure and network services for CGI and its customers, while CGI takes over part of Telia Cygate's data centre services and end-user IT support for Telia Finland business customers. Italian ICT firm Italtel and deep-tech company OctaiPipe have partnered to deploy an AI system designed to help operators meet rising power demands and tighter European regulations by substantially reducing energy use in data centres. LG Uplus said more than 80 percent of its employees are using generative AI tools one month after the company deployed Microsoft's Copilot as a standard workplace application across the organisation. Employees generated more than 440,000 prompts during the first month of deployment, with staff using AI an average of 86 times each. LG Uplus said approximately 63 percent of users access AI tools at least once a day.

Amazon signs German wind power contract with Skyborn Renewables

Amazon has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Skyborn Renewables to fund the construction of an offshore wind park on the Baltic Sea and continue efforts to achieve climate neutrality. The Gennaker offshore wind park will be the largest in the German Baltic Sea with a total capacity of up to 976.5 MW. Construction work is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2026, following the close of financing by Skyborn, and the wind farm is expected to start operations by the end of 2028.

Accenture bulks up cybersecurity division with multiple acquisitions

Accenture is acquiring a majority stake in one business and buying two more companies outright in a bid to shore up its USD 10 billion cybersecurity business. The US firm is buying the entire share capital in runZero, which specialises in cyber risk management, and NetRise, a provider of cybersecurity tools for analysing and safeguarding software components. Both NetRise and runZero are based in Austin, Texas.
