Humble Bundle - Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay - Enemy Within Campaign & More

I've been a fan of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay since the first edition hardback. I ran an amazing Enemy Within Campaign back in the late 80s. Sure, it ended with a near TPK at the start of Death in the Reik, but it was probably the most fun anyone in my gaming group, including me, had up to then, and perhaps after.

I own all of the Enemy Within Campaign installments for WFRP 4e in print, but I'm snagging the Humble Bundle for the convenience of digital copies to read on my iPad.

For 25 bucks, you can snag Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay Core Rules, WFRP Starter Set,  all 5 installments of the Enemy Within Campaign (and 5 companions), and 6 other WFRP Adventures. Phew! If you're not sure, you can grab the WFRP Starter Set, the first part of the Enemy Within Campaign, and a stand-alone adventure for a single buck. All purchases get a 20% coupon to the Cubicle 7 web store.

Bring the stirring legacy and grim, neverending conflict of the Old World to your table with this jam-packed library, and treat your players to the Director's Cut of The Enemy Within, the revered five-part campaign that inspired a generation of gamers. On top of the core rulebook and starter set, you'll get everything you need to get into the beloved Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay system. Dive into this storied setting with books like Middenheim: City of the White Wolf and Altdorf: Crown of the Empire, along with a host of sourcebooks and adventures to enable countless epic sessions for your group.

Humble Bundle - The Best of Warhammer RPGs

I have some extremely fond memories of running Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay back in the 80s and had my first self-inflicted by the part TPK. When I was returning to RPGs, my initial return was via Dark Herasy for Warhammer 40k via Fantasy Grounds. Damn, I really do enjoy the Warhammer Universe RPGs.

Humble Bundle is currently offering The Best of Warhammer RPGs as their latest RPG Bundle. This is a rare bundle where even the $1 level offers a Starter Set (Soulbound). 18 bucks get your three core rules (WFRP 4e, Soulbound, and Wrath & Glory) and a bunch of adventures and supplements.

RPGs spanning the worlds of Warhammer

Whether you’re partial to Space Marines, Stormcast Eternals, or good ol’ greenskins and high elves, this bundle of Warhammer pen-and-paper RPGs from Cubicle 7 will bring eternities of adventure to your table! If you seek adventure in the 41st century, Warhammer 40,000: Wrath & Glory will immerse your RPG group in the galaxy’s grimdark battles and heretical nightmares. If your tastes run classic, Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay puts the entirety of the beloved Old World at your fingertips. And if you want to explore a realm of high fantasy, magitech, and post-apocalyptic horror, Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Soulbound invites you to forge your group’s destiny in a gods-shattered realm.

Pay what you want for over 20 books, supplements, game aids, and more resources for these three thrilling Warhammer RPG systems, and help support Children's Health Ireland with your purchase!

Humble Bundle - Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Alright, let me state this straight out of the box. The moment I went to the Humble Bundle Page and saw Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay was one of the bundles I bought in for 30 bucks without waiting. Yes, I have WFRP 1e, 2e, 2e, and 4e. This gives me all but the aberration of 3e as core rules in PDF and so, so, so much more.

Have you played Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay in the past? Then you know you want this. Never played it? Then you need this. Playing WFRP 4e? You can get the Core Rules, the Starter Box and so much more. Really. I can't say enough. So I'll stop right here ;)

WFRP The Enemy Within Collector’s Edition - 10 Books - 750 Bucks

I really shouldn't be tempted by the WFRP The Enemy Within Collector’s Edition. Certainly, the $750 price point should have me turn away quickly and. I mean, who the FUCK puts down 750 bucks for an RPG campaign?

But it IS Warhammer, and not the abomination that was WFRP 3e.

Oh, and it is the Enemy Within Campaign, one of the best - if not the best - fantasy campaign for ANY system.

You can also buy it piecemeal, and each of the five adventure books is matched with a companion book. 10 books. Damn.

Each set of two books is $150, so there is no savings in preordering the set, but then you don't get:
Developer Diaries
If you buy the complete Enemy Within Collector’s Edition, we will send you regular Developer Diaries. These are emailed updates from WFRP Producer Andy Law detailing the progress of the new version of the campaign, including exclusive art previews, developer and artist interviews, production commentaries, amusing asides, and so much more. The Developer Diaries provide you with a unique insight into exactly what is included in the Director’s Cut of The Enemy Within, and why.
So, do you want to know how Bögenhafen is being updated? Or what maps will be included? Or what new Chaos cults are included? Or what happens in the two new additions to the campaign, The Horned Rat and Empire in Ruins? If so, then the Developer Diaries are for you.
Sigh...

I need to run a GoFundMe ;)

Warhammer Fantasy Role-play 4e - First Look

This past Friday I was at the Complete Strategist on 33rd Street in Manhattan with JoeTheLawyer and my wife Rach. On a shelf near the Pathfinder books I saw a lone copy of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 4e, the new edition from Cubicle 7.

I've heard good things about the latest edition, and it wasn't long before i grabbed it in my greasy paws. 60 bucks (plus tax) later and it was mine. I must say, I am impressed.

Physically, it is a beauty to behold. The art simply screams Warhammer, and although it steps away from the black and white art that I've always felt was iconic of WFRP 1e, the color art does a fine job on its own.

Character generation detail is superb. What I really like is that 4e encourages "roll in order" and "take what is rolled" by offering bonus XP for doing so, but still allowing players that are unhappy with what is rolled some further choice.

Ambitions are personal and / or party goals that can be minor or major. Accomplishing such offers bonus XP.

Player Character races are well detailed and have some nice details about the races opinions of each other.

Just started reading the classes. I really want to run this.

WFRP 4e is available on Amazon for 47.44 (ships Prime) - and yes, this is an affiliate link.

More as I dig further...

Bundle of Holding - Warhammer FRP 1E

I simply love Warhammer Fantasy RolePlay 1e. I have some amazing memories of running this in the late 80s. The material is evocative and the system is solid.

12 bucks for the initial buy-in? Priceless.

25 bucks (currently) for some of the best setting/campaign material for any system - ever.

Really, I wholeheartedly endorse the Warhammer FRP 1e Bundle :)

New (Old) Release - Shadows Over Bögenhafen: The Enemy Within Part 1 (WFRP 1e)

Consider me happy as a pig in shit. Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 1e is getting some love.

Now, back in the early days of roleplaying, we didn't have easy access to photocopiers and scanners. If there were player handouts that you intended to use, you literally cut them out of the book. Which is what I did with Shadows Over Bögenhafen The Enemy Within Part 1. Not a problem with a PDF. Just print out what you need.

This is a really clean scan of the original. There are bookmarks, but they are only for chapter headings, not the sub sections. No watermarking either.

Shadows Over Bögenhafen The Enemy Within Part 1 is $9.99 in PDF. I feel like I'm in high school again. Thanks Cubicle 7 ;)

Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay First Edition Core Rulebook releases in PDF on RPGNow - 9.99

As promised, the Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay First Edition Core Rulebook has released in PDF on RPGNow. Priced at $9.99 it makes claims to be an accurate representation of the printed original.

Bookmarks alone make this awesome.
Fully OCR'd, bookmarked and cleaned up to look amazing, the first edition of the seminal Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay comes to PDF!
We’ve painstakingly scanned every page, and created a PDF that maintains the appearance of the original. This does make for a slightly larger file than we’d normally produce, but on this occasion, we think it’s worth it for all the great First Edition feel! The PDF is also extensively bookmarked for ease of reference.
We released a version earlier in the year via Humble Bundle that did not have the colour plates of the Games Workshop edition, but this new PDF does have all those glorious colour plates we know so well.
Note - file size is 154 mb

Yep, for a limited time you can get the Zweihander POD for $44.99 using this link. NOTE! CLICKING THIS LINK WILL PUT THE DISCOUNTED BOOK IN YOU DIGITAL CART. USE THIS LINK IF YOU JUST WANT TO EXAMINE THE PAGE. Without the discount link it is currently on sale for $49.99, normally $59.99. PDF is priced for $13 if that is more your thing.

Now, I have the Kickstarter version of Zweihander in print and it is HUGE and pretty. If you enjoyed WFRP and would like to have an in print version this is certainly an affordable way to go for a high quality book. There are some places the rules take a different direction but that is true with most clones.
The book comes with a full color cover, with black & white interior. We used the Hardcover Color Book (Standard Heavyweight) option to make the B&W images richer. In addition, the heavier paper weight makes this book retail quality!
ZWEIHÄNDER Grim & Perilous RPG is an OSR Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay loveletter/retroclone/heartbreaker released under Creative Commons License Share-Alike. It is a fantasy tabletop role-playing game, one where adventurers will:
  • Live in a gritty, ‘realistic’ fantasy world
  • Make morally grey decisions & enact vicious reprisals
  • Uncover insidious plots & political intrigue
  • Desperately fight in clandestine & open field combat
  • Defend themselves from injuries, madness & mutations
  • Take part in heart-pumping chase scenes
  • Venture into the wilderness & survive its perils
  • Encounter sanity-blasting creatures & their minions
Using the classical D100 system, you will create grim characters, write perilous adventures and build low fantasy & dark fantasy campaigns. These rules are perfectly suitable to run Renaissance and medieval-styled adventures, too. You can also use this book to craft homebrew stories set in the works of Andrzej Sapkowski, George R.R. Martin, Glen Cook, Scott Lynch and other ‘grimdark’-inspired worlds.
This 692 page, all-in-one game includes most of what you need to play: a character creation guide, game mastery rules and a bestiary brimming with creatures both fair & foul. All that’s left to gather are a few friends, pencils and a handful of dice.
