Nothing stirs more of an emotional divide in the 2A community than the bullpup. While there are factual arguments for the practical use of the platform design, the emotional responses are rarely middle ground. The bullpup is a rifle that end users either love or hate; rarely is it undecided.

The Indian Army is fielding a locally produced night vision weapon sight on its SIG 716 assault rifle in 7.62x51mm, with the first batch of roughly 4,000 MKU Netro NW-3000 Gen 3 units scheduled to arrive by year's end. CZ isn't reinventing the wheel with the 612 TAC, and that's probably the point. You already know the 612 platform, so here's what's new: a 6+1 extended tube, an 18-inch chrome-lined barrel with a tactical brake, a telescopic stock, and ghost ring sights baked in. The company also added a vertical pistol grip and receiver-mounted Picatinny rail, plus a 3-position LOP adjustment on the stock. Every August, the Navy's Explosive Ordnance Disposal community assembles for King Crab, a multi-day gauntlet that separates the elite from the merely excellent. This year's third iteration brought two-person teams from across the force to a California training site, where they faced a relentless cascade of challenges: underwater demolition tasks, threat assessment scenarios, long-range precision with the Mk 11, close-quarters handgun work, and the inevitable moment when a teammate goes down and the other must execute tactical combat casualty care under pressure. I’d love a shooting range like this, where distant mountains work as the backstop.

I don’t think anyone would deny that rimfire is equally as valuable as a training cartridge as it is as a recreational one. While tracers are primarily designed for military use, most often in automatic guns, they are neither impossible to find nor illegal to purchase in the civilian world. I’ve spent the last month or so testing out this ammunition in a variety of different 22LR firearms, and today I’ll give you my overall impressions of Piney Mountain Supernova 22LR tracers, along with some of my typical range data (velocity and accuracy), to see if this stuff is worth keeping around for some special range sessions.
