TFB Review: The New Benelli M2-G1 Shotgun
Welcome back to another TFB review. This week we have one of Benelli’s newest offerings: the updated modular version of their classic M2 semi-automatic shotguns. In a world of modern, highly customizable semi-auto shotguns, Benelli has always been one of the main options, with their lineup allowing the M2-G1 to be a fantastic option for consumers who want top quality without going extremely high on their budget, such as something like Benelli's flagship M4 variants that I reviewed last year. If you happened to miss my M4 EXT review, be sure to click the link here to check it out. Let's take a closer look at the brand new Benelli M2-G1.
POTD: SWORD Defense MK18 SA-ASR - Semi-Auto Power at Extended Range
When the mission demands precision fire beyond what standard medium-caliber platforms can reliably deliver, SWORD Defense Systems has an answer in the MK18 SA-ASR. The Semi-Automatic Advanced Sniper Rifle has been in development since 2010 and is built around a short-stroke gas piston system paired with an extremely precise barrel manufacturing process, producing a platform that sits in a performance bracket closer to heavy-category rifles while remaining mobile enough for field use.
The Rimfire Report: A Closer Look at Wolf Match Target 22LR
There is a certain level of quality that I think we all expect when we see the term “Match” attached to a product. Whether that be a component, the whole gun, or the ammo, the word Match typically implies that the item in question is made with high precision, tighter tolerances, and maximum consistency in mind. On the other side of things, the brand name “Wolf” is typically a name I’ve only associated with one thing - cheap 7.62x39mm steel case. Today I simply wanted to take a closer look at Wolf 40gr Match Target, a rather peculiar ammo, and see what one of the least expensive match ammos currently available on the market gets us in terms of “match grade” performance.
DOJ Sets Start for Federal Firearm Rights Restoration Program
A grant removes only the federal disability covered by the application. It does not cancel an independent state or tribal prohibition, and it does not excuse firearm possession before relief is granted. DOJ says successful applicants will receive a decision letter, the FBI will update NICS, and the grant will be published in the Federal Register.
Apex Tactical Releases Evo 6 Trigger Kit for Gen 6 Glock Pistols
Apex Tactical has introduced the Evo 6 Trigger Kit tailored specifically for Glock Gen 6 models, marking the company's initial aftermarket trigger offering for the newest Glock generation. The kit functions as a direct drop-in replacement for factory polymer components, swapping the trigger body, trigger bar, and connector. Compatibility is limited to Gen 6 frame models G17, G19, and G45; the company explicitly states the kit does not fit Gen 1 through Gen 5 platforms or third-party clone frames.

Silencer Saturday #446: Market Trends In A Post-Stamp World
Good afternoon, everyone, and welcome back to TFB’s Silencer Saturday, brought to you by Yankee Hill Machine, manufacturer of the new Victra 20-gauge shotgun suppressor. While things are still up in the air with the NFA Court ruling, the market has already changed. People are buying silencers, SBRs, and SBSs on a 4473, but not everyone. Assuming this all works out, and that becomes the new normal, what changes and trends could we expect in the silencer world?
Front Line Friday #29: Optics for Patrol Rifles - Practical Selection
Welcome back to Front Line Friday. This week is a gear week, and the topic is optic selection for patrol rifles: red dot versus low power variable, zero distance, reticle choice in low light, and what actually survives being racked in and out of a car mount every shift. I know this can be a “religious” topic for some people, so I’m going to do my best to thread the needle. Front Line Friday is brought to you by Dead Air Silencers, whose support keeps this column going every week.
Inside the British L85 Bullpup Rifle
The British L85 is one of the more unusual stories in modern military small arms. Conceived during a period when Britain was attempting to develop a new generation of infantry weapons around a domestically designed intermediate cartridge, the project eventually produced the L85 rifle. This advanced but deeply troubled weapon would later become one of the most extensively reworked service rifles of its generation.
POTD: Blue Lights, Hard Steel and Rio's Thin Blue Line
TFB’s Photo Of The Day goes in blue and red lights. Polícia Militar do Estado do Rio de Janeiro officers stand at attention in the darkness, berets crisp and squared, radiating exactly the kind of disciplined presence the force projects when it wants the streets to know it is there. These images capture something real about modern Brazilian law enforcement: formidable posture, hard equipment, and the weight of a city on their shoulders.
Fudd Friday: Forget 6.5 Creedmoor, These Are Real Hipster Cartridges
I presume the naysayers’ idea was that hipsters are urbanized young adults who reject mainstream culture and like niche equipment to pursue their interests—fixie bikes, old record players, and so on. I think naysayers also believe hipsters don’t have the physique to handle higher-power rounds.

TFB Review: Vortex Optics Crossfire II Solar 2 MOA Red Dot
We currently live in a renaissance period for optics and especially red dots. Everywhere you turn, someone is making a decent red dot for recreational shooting or duty work. Expensive, quality red dots are easy to come by (you expend a lot of money on a product, it better be good quality). The more intriguing end of the product spectrum is the affordable or cheap end. How affordably-priced can something be while still being incredibly reliable and worth purchasing? We might have found that threshold in the new Vortex Optics Crossfire II Solar 2 MOA Red Dot. So, today we are going to review this lil’ guy to see how it performs and just how good it is. Let’s dive in!
