Sora Lella is one of only two restaurants on Isola Tiberina, a tiny island in the middle of the Tiber River, between the Jewish Ghetto and Trastevere. Their menu has classic Roman dishes alongside plates you won’t find anywhere else that are good for fancy-ish dinner. Start with the nervetti salad, where beef and beans are coated in a parsley-packed, oily dressing, and then go for the tender lamb sweetbreads served in a pool of garlic-rosemary white wine sauce. End the meal with their crema gelato, made in-house by the nephew of the owner.
Classic trattorias, fantastic pasta, and where to carb-load in the capital.
A famous caponata, cacio e pepe, vegan gelato, and other things we love to eat in one of Rome's best neighborhoods.
Caravaggios and Baroque fountains are great, but admit it, you’re in Rome for the pasta.
