With such a wide array of different tanks available, trying to decide which is right for you can be a difficult choice. Luckily, when you break down the different types of tank and the features available, it is much easier to find something to suit your vaping style.
The first thing to decide is which kind of vaping style you have - Mouth to Lung or Direct to Lung?
What Is A Mouthy To Lung (MTL Tank)?
A Mouth To Lung (or MTL) vaping style replicates how most people smoke a cigarette. The vapour is first drawn into your mouth and then inhaled into your lungs. This style is often favoured by new switchers because it emulates the smoking experience and makes it easier to transition to vaping. As a general rule, mouth to lung tanks will produce less vapour than sub-ohm tanks and are a more discreet/stealthy option.
What Is A Sub Ohm Tank?
Sub Ohm vape tanks allow you to use a direct to lung vaping style - more akin to a hookah / shisha pipe. Instead of drawing the vapour into your mouth first, you inhale it directly into your lungs. They are called ‘Sub Ohm’ because the resistance of the coils they use is below 1.0 Ohm.
What Is A Disposable Tank?
Disposable tanks are the perfect solution for anyone who doesn’t want to deal with tank maintenance. Simply use the tank as normal and replace it when the coil burns out. They can be refilled with the e-liquid of your choice multiple times and often have features such as adjustable airflow. Disposable tanks are also a fantastic back-up to have in your bag in case your regular tank runs into any problems.
What Is A Rebuildable Tank?
Rebuildable tanks are aimed at very advanced vapers, and you will need a very good knowledge of Ohm’s Law and battery safety to use them safely. However, the advantages of a rebuildable tank are that they give you the ultimate in customisation. The ‘rebuildable’ name stems from the fact that you build your own coils and wicks - which means you can pick any resistance you like.
