Location and Uses
Link can obtain the Poacher's Saw by returning to where the Master Craftsman's Son initially was in the Lost Woods only to find him gone instead. Fado explains that he has turned into a Stalfos. By giving her the Odd Poultice, she will let him take the Poacher's Saw the Master Craftsman's Son left behind.
Trivia
- The Poacher's Saw is a double-edged hand saw, which is commonly used in Japanese carpentry.
- In Ocarina of Time, obtaining the Poacher's Saw permanently locks the upgrade of Deku Nuts' maximum capacity that can be obtained at the Forest Stage. This is a bug caused by a typo in the code.[2] This bug was fixed for Ocarina of Time 3D.
- The Japanese guidebook published by Shogakukan states that the Deku Scrubs in the Forest Stage "hate the Poacher's Saw" as the reason why the upgrade becomes unattainable once Link obtains the saw.[3]
