Prince Ralis is a character in Twilight Princess.[3]

Biography

Twilight Princess

Ralis is the prince of the Zora people and son of the Zora Queen, Rutela. He tried to travel to Hyrule Castle to plead to Princess Zelda for help when Zora's Domain froze over, but he was attacked by twilit monsters sent by Zant and rescued by Ilia.[2][4] He became ill because he had spent too long away from water, and required emergency transport to Kakariko Village to be treated by Renado.[5][6] Soon after Link clears the Lakebed Temple, Ralis wakes up and recovers from his illness. However, he does not often socialize with the people of Kakariko Village and constantly prays at King Zora's grave in the Graveyard. If Link visits him, Ralis will tell the young hero that he had seen him in a dream that his mother sent him.[7] He is reluctant to become the King of the Zoras, but throughout the story he grows in confidence with Link's help.[8][9] He is an excellent Reekfish angler,[1] and gifts Link the Coral Earring required to catch one.[10] Catching a Reekfish is essential to the game's progression; when Link catches one, it will give off a scent that leads to Snowpeak. Link can use this scent to guide him through the harsh blizzards of Snowpeak in his wolf form and seek out the first shard of the Mirror of Twilight.[11]

After giving Link the Coral Earring, Ralis returns to Zora's Domain and rules over the Zoras. If Link visits him, he will welcome him and urge him to make himself at home.[12] During the end credits, Ralis finds the spirit of his mother and continues to rule over the Zoras, but in a much happier state.
