Tumbo is a Zora who lives in Zora's Domain, where he can be found running around Mipha's Statue during the day. When he first meets Link, he is confused by his appearance, and explains that he's never met a Hylian before.[5] He asks if he's seen his mother, Mei, on his journey.[6]

After Divine Beast Vah Ruta is freed from Calamity Ganon's control, Tumbo is seen catching frogs, and can give Link the "Frog Catching" Side Quest. When talked to, Tumbo explains that he is catching Hot-Footed Frogs so that he can sell them to make money while his mom is away.[7] Then, Tumbo realizes that Link is just pitying him and asks Link to give him five Hot-Footed Frogs.[8][9] When Link brings him the Hot-Footed Frogs, Tumbo is surprised and excitedly counts them.[10][11] In return, Tumbo gives Link an Armoranth, which he picked as it was strange, but decides to give to him because it does not suit him.[12][13] Afterwards, whenever Link talks to him, Tumbo either thanks him for the frogs or suggests he looks at the fish his mom caught at Marot Mart.[14][15] Each day, he wakes up at 7:00 AM, until 4:00 PM when he runs up a ramp to his father, Fronk, who is working on a pillar nearby. At 8:00 PM, he runs to the Sleeping Chamber and falls asleep at 9:00, saying that he is getting sleepy.[16]
