This article is about the Area in Tri Force Heroes. For similar locations, see Volcano (Disambiguation).

The Volcano is the third Area in Tri Force Heroes.[1]

Features and Overview

The Volcano contains four Levels, and can be accessed through the Level Selection screen once all three of the Links step onto the Triforce Gateway in one of the lobbies of Hytopia Castle.[note 1] The Area will be accessible if the prior Woodlands Area has been cleared.[note 2]

The Volcano is explored from the inside, where hostile caves filled with Lava contain rising Geysers, falling Slabs, and packs of perilous Enemies such as Kodongos, Hardhat Beetles and Hinoxes. The Links will traverse the more spacious areas by way of rickety Mine Carts and Swinging Platforms.

The Area introduces the Boomerang and the Gust Jar, while reusing some Items from prior Areas. The Volcano's Mini-Bosses, fought aboard a pair of Mine Carts in the Hinox Mine Level, are two of the Hinox Brothers: Hinox the Elder and Hinox the Eldest. Its Boss, fought in the Fire Temple, is Moldorm.

Notes

  1. Prior to the closure of Nintendo 3DS multiplayer servers, opting to meet with random "unknown heroes" online would require the player to select an Area before they are connected to other players.
  2. Players who have not unlocked the Volcano can still access the Area by selecting "I can't decide!" while another player selects the Volcano, or by having the Volcano win the roulette to decide amongst the players' Area selections.
