I have a Xiaomi phone (garnet), I have a loader that uploads successfully.

However, I cannot get past the "Error on EDL Authentification" error.

So, brute forcing the signature key seems to be one of my current options.

So, is there a safeguard or lockout feature that prevents me doing this and/or bricking my phone?

Any input is appreciated.
